I just got home from the 6:30PM New Year's Eve Mass, actually in our church, a feast day to Mary.    It is starting to get really cold and windy outside as they promised but I was able to get there and back before the real bad weather starts.

It was a quiet day around here.   Tomorrow will be too though I am invited to Bart and Barb's for dinner.

Think I will have a New Year's glass of wine and then go to bed.

HAPPY NEW YEAR FROM OKLAHOMA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sunday, December 30, 2018

Went to the 8:30AM mass this morning and had coffee and donuts afterwards.
This has been a wonderful weekend.   As I was leaving the coffee at church, my brother. George, called and we had a nice visit.    He is doing OK and sounded strong.

Yesterday, my sister, Dolores, called and today, Eileen and Nora, both called so I have talked to everybody I can.    Jeff and Kathy are in Hawaii with Matthew and family and Randy and Donna are in Boston with Jessica and Phil and unlikely to be calling anybody else.   I wouldn't..

Can't believe that tomorrow is the last day of 2018.   I will be ushering at the 6:30PM Mass.   Good way to end the year/

Nothing exciting New Year's Eve but am invited for dinner at Bart's on New Year's Day.

Today was a whole day at home.     Kerry came and cleaned my house this morning, as her regular day would hve been Christmas.

It was a pleasant day, not too windy or cold, a relief after those 4 inches of rain followed by bitter winds we hac the past two days.    Not much sun but it was pleasant.    Nicky and I took a walk this afternoon.

Hope all is well as we venture into 2019 in only three more days.    Where does the time go.    If you get a friend request from me from Facebook, ignore it.   It has been taken care of with the help of Bobbie.

Jim and Michelle arrived yesterday afternoon.    We went to the 5PM Mass together, which was a real joy for me.   I love having family at church with me.    The we drove to Geronimo to Adam and Alexia's home and a wonderful potluck and Dirty Santa Exchange.   Lots of fun and family.

Today, Bart and Barb and Marlies joined Jim and Michelle and I for a Christmas meal of Green Meatballs and lasagna, (for those who don't like pea soup.)   It was a nice time.   The rest of the day was very quiet.   I did have a nice phone visit with my Bret.

Merry Christmas to all of  you

Went to the 8:30AM Mass.   I was an usher so busy during the Mass.

Then I stopped at Walgreens to pick up some bows for my presents.   They looked bare with just wrapping paper and I can't find any bows in my stash.

Did some baking and made the Green Meatballs for Christmas day.   So I was busy most of the day.

Tomorrow I will bake the Figgy Hobbin and wait for Jim and Michelle to arrive, then to Mass followed by a family gathering at Adam and Alexia's house.   They are the best hosts.

Today was a nice day.    A much to quiet day as far as voices.    A friend called me this afternoon which broke up the afternoon

I feel good about today.   I did some wash, I baked and I mixed up the pie crust for the figgy hobbin so I feel that I did something.

Christmas is coming quickly and I will be ready.   Just hafe to make some soup and bake the figgy hobbin.    Easy and comfortable.

Was a quiet day.    Nicky and I took a walk this afternoon.   It was windy and I almost lost my hat.    Had to chase it down.

Mixed up my stollen dough this afternoon, will bake them tomorrow.

Went to church for the Sacrament of Reconciliation tonight, so I am all ready for Christmas:)

Talked to a Wisconsin friend.    We had a nice visit.   They have no snow and none projected between now and Christmas.

Today I attended the last bible study of the year.    This time of the year always sounds so dramatic.    NEXT YEAR       For heavens sake, it is only three weeks.

We had a great time.  A Couple of people brought threats and one of our members brought presents for everybody.       I like to just bring fresh scones every once in  a while throughout the year.

I mixed up a batch of 6 week bran muffins today so I can fix them on Christmas when I plan on serving split pea soup which ar a natural for the muffins.  Actually, I was going to try something else, but Bart said that Bran Muffins were the proper way to go.    I try not to buck tradition

Just got home from Writer's Club.     There are only five of us but we had some good readings.  I read a couple of my poems from my book Seeking.   We will not be meeting until January 8th.   As we laughed    ---     Next year.

I got all my packages sent finally and am receiving some.   Bobbie's candy and soap arrived.   Yea.

Tomorrow is the last bible study of the year.    I can't believe how fact time is passing.

Another busy day.   I went to the post office and got all but one package mailed and most of my Christmas cards.

I had the wrong address for one so will have to go back tomorrow.   I also plan on picking up my Dirty Santa gift for Christmas eve as long as I am out.

I baked my Lizzies (My fruitcake like cookies) today.   I love them.   Almost decided not to bake them and then decided that I was worth it:)

I kept myself busy most of the day and then got invited to Bart and Barb's house for a sumptuous dinner of schnitzel.    They had invited the missionaries over and kindly include me in these feasts.    The missionaries are always an interesting group of young people and I enjoy spending time with them.    AND it is a meal that I don't have to eat alone.

Tomorrow I am going to the post office.   Have six packages to mail.

I had my port flushed today.    They do that once a month to be sure that there is no clotting.   I do not look forward to having to do this for the foreseeable future, but see no choice.

So I am going to publish the poem for this year right here in this Blog TODAY

Went to Mass and Bible Study this morning.    We are discussing a book called "Forty Anti Catholic Lies" which is very interesting.    We picked this up to discuss between the parish actual bible studies.   Next week we will still discuss the book, then when we pick up Bible Study on January 9th we will join the parish in the study of Colossians,  letter of St. Paul.   Should be interesting, I haven't been in on any discussions of Paul's letters before.

Spent the rest of the day "sorting" candy to send to my kids.   You are the main people who read this so you know that I made it again this year.    Buckeyes and Fudge.     I plan on mailing the packages on Monday.   Then I am down to just Christmas cards.   By the way, your Christmas Cards will be in your packages.

It was in the mid 50's today and quite pleasant.   We are supposed to get blustery winds tomorrow.   Glad I can stay home.

Well, I see that I have been lazy again.

Last night I was at the Quilt Guild's annual Christmas Party and pot luck.   One of our members graciously opens her lovely home to us each year for this.     We just gather, eat and do a secret Santa gift exchange.   It was fun.   I brought a macaroni salad that I hadn't made in years.   It turned out OK.    The group is so friendly and Barbara is also a member.

Tonight was the Writer's Club.   There were only three of us there tonight so we finished WAY early which is all right with me.   I read a couple of poems.

The weather has been quite calm and I think mild the past couple of days and should continue that way until Thursday when we may get flurries.    No accumulation of snow however, so that will be OK.

It's snowing.    There is close to two inches on the ground.    I looked out the front and my neighbor's son and his girlfriend are in the front yard building a showman.   Glad that they still find that joy in their late teen years:)  :)    Worth a double smile.     The temperatures are hovering around freezing and the snow flakes vary from small to huge.    Putting me in the spirit but I am glad that it probably won't stay long.

Each day, I am working a little bit more on Christmas.   The main thing is to get the packages ready to mail next week or early the following.

Today was the busiest day I have had in a long time.

Mass at 9:00AM at church, before Bible Study at 10:OOAM.  It was a good animated bible study, actually we are on a book study right now.  I brought scones and fudge for a treat.    Went over very well:)

One of our members does meals on wheels and offered me a bag of three meals if I wanted them.   I was delighted.   I will not have to cook for a week and have some variety.   What a kind gesture.   Living alone, I do get careless about cooking sometimes.

Late this afternoon, I took my car to the dealer for maintenance.   They got my tires back to good pressure and the warning light off and checked all the fluids and stuff for winter.   I had one filter replaced and should be good until next summer.   Yea.

My furnace is fixed.  It was batteries in the thermastat;   Who knew they had batteries.:)   Actually our Barbara asked me about that, but I didn't know.

Anyway, will know if it happens again.   He checked everything else out as long as he was here.

It is nice to be warm.    I was sure glad that I had that little electric heater.

Went grocery shopping and made fudge.   I added too much milk to the fudge so don't know how it will turn out.  I tried to compensate.   That should be quite a batch of fudge.

Went to the 8:30 Mass and came right home.   My thermistat "died" during the night and it is cold in my house.    I called American Shield, but they have been unable to get someone to come out on a Sunday.   I remembered that I have a space heater, so when a room gets too cold, I turn on the heater until it takes the chill off.   It is small and I am setting it on a tile so it is very safe.

Should hear first thing in the morning from some vendor that will help me.

Well, except for having to go to the store for milk, I was home all day.

Did some wash, towels and worked a bit on the desk.

My friend Barbara called and we had a nice visit.    Talked to Bart too I got to have contact with real people, which is always a bonus.    I miss my sweetheart.    It is almost 6 years since his passing and it doesn't get easier.   I know now what my Mom went through with Daddy gone.

We are tough though and I will be just fine.  Don't mean to be a downer.   I was blessed to have him as long as I did:)

It was rather gloomy today, but Nicky and I went for a walk anyway.   There was no wind and he sure is a happy guy when we get out.    I know it is good for me.

Happy Thanksgiving.   I hope yours was as pleasant as mine was.

I spent the morning wrapping the ornaments that I buy for all my kids and great grandkids.    Next big job will be in a week or tro when I make the candy.      After all, why bother to have Christmas at all without Buckeyes or fudge.    At least that was what I was told.

This afternoon, I picked Bart up and we went to Geronimo for our family Thanksgiving at Adam and Alesia's house.    Adam smoked the turkey and we had enough food that we could have fed all of Geronimo.   All good too.

Nicky was a happy doggy when I finally got home.     A hungry doggy too.

It was cold today, but the wind was stilled and the sun shone so it seemed much warmer than it was, after the past two days of wind and snow.   I know our snow did not stay on the ground, but it is really serious to us:)    The Quilt Guild even cancelled their meeting on Monday night.   Too much for those old people.   I was providing the sweet treat and have lemon scones coming out of my ears in the freezer.

Oh well, breakfast for the next week or so.  I did take a bunch to the Bible Study today and they were welcomed.

My friends, Robbie and Curtis, invited me to go to Medicine Park for an Indian Flute celebration today.     Vendors and craftsmen all along the streets.   Medicine Park is kind of an Artist;'s community and they do a lot of events like this.   I have been interested but didn't want to go alone.    This was Fun.    Robbie is a good friend who belongs to Holy Family Church and joined my Celtic Group.

One of the vendors gave me a beautiful green jadelike stone wrapped in copper.    A gift.  She put it on a cord so I could wear it.    I was glad that Robbie bought something from her.  I just seldom buy jewelry  because I seldom wear it.

Aside from that I just did some deep cleaning in the pantry.

Boy, have I had a busy week.

I think I told you, my car died.    Bart let me use his car in the interim.   As it turns out, my battery was shot.    Not too bad a repair for a 6 year old car that I really DON'T drive enough.    I have less than 29,000 miles on it.   It may last me my whole life:)

Thursday, I had Writer's Club and Wednesday, Bible study, Dr. Toy and grocery shopping.    I was glad to be home all day today.

Dan and Han mowed my lawn today.    Nicky loves that.   They always take him for a walk.    I always have to watch because he will poop every time and Dan and Han don't get concerned about that so I have to run out with a plastic bag.    But I am so glad for my Nicky.

He still loves his walks.

It was a good day.

Holy Family had a retreat./training day for our volunteers.    The retreat was after socialization and breakfast in the morning and very well put on.

The training turned out to be a wash as for some reason the Usher's program did not materialize and we waited for about an hour before being sismissed.

Altogether a good day because of the retreat.

Well.   I am back.     Don't know if anyone will even be looking for me anymore.    That's OK.

FIRST:  my computer stopped connecting to the internet on September 10.   Then I left for Wisconsin for the most wonderful vacation .

My high school reunion at Riverdale where I spend many an evening on dates.   We had a super turnout and I connected with so many old friends.     We haven't changed a bit.

The next day I had lunch with my Celtic friends.   There were a dozen of us at the gathering.   Did I feel special, or what.

Saturday, Richard and Brenda joined Bobbie and Bill and me at the Black Pig.   We then retired to Bobbie and Bills and visited until  Richard and Brenda had to go back home to Madison.

Sunday, met with my brothers and sisters at Shreckers in Sheboygan.   Jeff and Kathy, Dolores and Ken, Eileen and Fred and me and Bobbie.    It was wonderful.

I got to see most of the people I love and miss so much.

When I got home, it took some trying to fix the computer myself before I finally called someone in.   I have been able to keep up with email on the laptop.

So I am back.     I will try t post daily again.   It is a good practice for me.

I love you all

Had my "Wellness  Exam" with Dr. Aiku today.    Except for the lab tests, I am fine.   They will be done next week.

I will leave for Wisconsin in four days.   SO excited.

Another hot day that is following many MANY hot days.    It was 102 on my thermometer this afternoon.    Hope this breaks soon.

Nicky is enjoying his backyard.    Lately he has discovered the squirrel and chases it up on three or another.  I swear the thing is teasing him.

I watered the front yard earlier this week and the back yard today.    We are supposed to have a chance of rain in a couple of days.     I am losing hope:)  But perhaps I shouldn't be so pessimistic.

A Couple of nice days.   Last night I went to writer's club and we had 5 of us there who all read some of our work.   The people there were interested in my poetry so I read several out of my books.

It gave me a bit of ambition to work on the book of the Celtic Saints seriously for the first time in months.   Perhaps things are getting better.

Talked to my friend, Barbara Sadler, tonight.   Always a pleasure to have a voice in m,y ear.

The rest of the day was quiet.   I went over to Bart and Barb's so I could look at Barb's Tupperware catalogs and order from her Facebook party.    They fed me too so I came out ahead on that one:)

This week is generally quiet so won't be doing much.

What a great day.

I talked to lots of people that I love.

Bill Smith called this morning and we had the nicest visit with Leslie in the background.   They are Considering coming for Thanksgiving again.    We sure hope so.

Then I called Richard and Brenda this afternoon.   They survived the rain with  a flooded basement.   Could have been worse.   They didn't lose anything and are working on drying it out and figuring out how to avoid this  again if the rains come again.

So I feel good tonight.   My nephew and his family in Hawaii are fine too.

We got a bit of rain during the night again.    I know we are still in drought situation but these little bits are helping my lawn.   Of course, that means I will have to pay to get it mowed:)    That's OK too.   Dan and Han are a pleasure to have work for me.

Bart stopped by today as he did errands.    Always glad when he does.    As I told him.    A voice in the house is such a welcome sound.    Nicky doesn't say much:)

I was home all day except for a quick trip to pick up a prescription.    My rash is finally showing real healing.   I needed more salve to put on it.   Soon I will be normal again.    I hope!

The weekend is looking very quiet.   I may go to see the balloons with Bart and Barb.   If I slather with sunscreen and cover up and perhaps bring an umbrella I can keep from breaking out again.   I hope.   I hate to miss all the good stuff.

I make my reservations for my plane trip to Wisconsin for the reunion in September.   Glad that is done and I will have a car waiting for me.

Bart and Barb took me.  Then since the travel agent is in the Mall,  we did some shopping and ate out at the Mexican restaurant.    I found a nice top to wear for the reunion.

A day at home AGAIN!    But it was OK.    I got a couple of phone calls.

One from my friend, Peg Payne, from Cascade.    Peg is such a pleasure to talk to - always full of joy and wisdom.    While we were talking, a storm rolled in and we got RAIN here in Lawton.   A nice rain which we have needed so badly.    The temperature is down to 77 degrees and it is still sprinkling.   My lawn is singing with joy.    Only had one kitty show up for supper tonight.    His friend is probably somewhere sheltered and the one who showed up will be really fat tomorrow.    They don't feel the need to share or save anything.

Jeff called too.    He wanted to quickly update me on the Deeley/Cool picnic that was yesterday in the park in Falls.    It was great and I wish I could have been there.    Uncle Jim,  Diana Cool's dad and my Dad's brother and I always got along well.    He was a charming Deeley and a vary smart man.   Diana was there with her children, Jay and Christopher and their families.    Doug and Caroline Deeley (Diana;s half brother and his wife)and my sisters Eileen with Fred and Dolores with Ken and Randy came too.   Family is special.

Got a haircut today.    I don't know what I was thinking making the appointment for one day after my trip, but it worked out just fine.

The wedding was beautiful.   Jessie and all put a lot into it.    The judge who did the ceremony was full of symbolism and stories.    The bride was beautiful (as she always has been.)   And Phil, of course was a handsome groom.

The dinner was Cuban based, quite interesting.   Phil's mother,, Sandy, made the cake and homemade champagne truffles with the kid's initials on them.   They were what all chocolate should be.

I spent part of the weekend with my niece, Suzi, who I went to England with.   We had a grand time just visiting and her showing me around her territory.

Monday I went to the Bible Study in Sheboygan Falls and then to lunch with several  Celtic Friends.  Spent the night with Joan Kramer and she did the reflexology on my feet so I am set until September.

I made Friday Chili, or as Dick named it Sinner's Chili, today.    Want something hearty for supper and can"t use the oven.

Nothing else exciting.   Too hot to get too excited.

Mainly  a quiet day, though I did get myself out of the house and bought myself a swimming suit.   I had two that were WAY to big after I lost that weight, so went to Dillards and found one that will do.  I hope to gain SOME weight but the two I have are probably bigger than I need.    Time will tell.

Did a bit of sewing but the rest of the day was another lazy day.    Contacted the doctor but they are still waiting for insurance approval for my PetScan.    Seems pretty odd when the insurance companies can second guess the doctors.

Well.   My garage door opener and my ADT are both working again.   We have decided that the trouble is either a breaker of a plug.    I have an electrician coming to fix the problem.

Aside from that, it was a quiet day.   Kerry came this morning and cleaned the house for me.   Bus except for that it was very quiet.

Tomorrow or the next day I am going shopping for a swimming suit.   I have two and they are WAY too big.

Darn.    I hate shopping.

Please pray for my cousin, Maureen, who passed away this morning at 6:30AM.   We were all surprised to hear yesterday that she was in hospice so this was a shock.

Yesterday, I had dinner with Bart and Barb.    Bart cooks up a great burger.

Today was very quiet.   Tomorrow will be busy.   Garage door opener broke, expecting info on my Petscan, and the ADT is malfunctioning.

My cleaning lady comes too.

I will be busy.

A long weekend doesn't mean much to me anymore.    I can make any weekend a long weekend if I want one:)

Today, I did a bit of shopping at Walgreen and spent this afternoon partly at a graduation party for Brice, the son  of my neighbor's across the street.   It was a lovely gathering.   Brice was the first neighbor to greet me when I moved in to this neighborhood and I have always liked him for that

I kittlysat today.    Bart and Barb have adopted the little kitty that I found in my front planter and they went to Oklahoma City today for a doctor appointment.   So I was recruited to watch the little one, who has no name as of yet.    We don't even know what gender he or she is.    Barb feeds him with a kitten formula every two to three hours so I was asked to fill in while they were gone.  It was OK.   Little kittens are adorable and I enjoyed feeding him or her but don't want to be a ?Mother? again.

If I get a cat it will be litter box trained and eating like an adult.    By the way, Fluffy, the cat that was neutered is doing just fine back here in her territory.

I saw my radiation oncologist today and got my port flushed.   I won't have to see Dr. Smith again unless I should end up getting radiation again and we will hope not.

A reasonably quiet day until this evening.

Bart and Barb brought Fluffy, the feral cat we had neutered, back to this neighborhood and me.   Fluffy turned out to be a female, so we got her just in time.   She was not pregnant and they said she never had a litter.    Whew.    She seems glad to be home and Little Bit, the other cat, was quite glad to see her.     A happy reunion.

Little Bit will be next.    We are  reasonably sure that he is a boy.

Aside from that, I did a bit of sewing and some grocery shopping.    So it was a quiet day.   No word yet as t when I get my PTScan.

We took our captured feral kitty over to be neutered today.    She (we thought it was a he) is just fine and will be released probably back here where she feels at home and I can look out for her.

I went to Bible Study this morning too.   A rousing discussion of the Gospel of John

A Quiet rest of the day.

A rather quiet birthday.     BUT   I got FLOWERS.   I GOT CARDS and I got phone calls.    I am well loved.

Tonight Bart and Barb came over and we captured one of the two kittens that showed up when I had my surgery.    They also took a new kitten that had just appeared and was hidden in my shed.

We are taking them to be fixed tomorrow and then released back into the world.    Just one more to go.   Poor Little Bit looks lost and is looking for his friend.    I wish I could explain to him.    His friend may even be able to be released back here.

It was much cooler today than it has been.   I went to the 8:30AM Mass and stopped for the coffee and donuts and camaraderie.

Did a bit of sewing and worked on my Celtic update newsletter.

So it was an altogether quiet day.   A kitten has showed up in my front planter.    I am not happy.   If I wanted a  cat, I would have a cat and not a a feral cat either.

A quiet day.    I didn't go anywhere.    Got a few phone calls though.    Eileen, Nora, Barb, Bart.   I am truly blessed.

It was hot again.   I find it very easy to just sit these days.    Wish I had some enthusiasm about something.    I did do some sewing today and I have a goal to finish a project by Monday.    Perhaps that will help:)

We had our Celtic meeting today at the Shamrock Pub.   Only five of us but we will improve as people get used to the new day.    Robbi gave a talk for us on clothing throughout the middle ages.   Fascinating.

Had a shrimp dinner with Bart and Barb tonight.    Just got home a bit ago and am actually ready for bed.

Quiet day tomorrow.

Yesterday, I had my first CTScan since I finished chemo and radiation.    Still haven't heard the results from the doctor.     I am not very happy on that.   Another delay and lack.    As it turned out, I was right to be concerned about the pre meds I needed before the scan though my doctor's office said all was OK.   We got things together just in time.   Next time, I will be even more aggressive.   Just asking is not enough.

Today was quiet, so I did a bit of shopping.    Still need to find a bathing suit, but I did find a pair of jeans that fit but allow a bit for growth.    I am losing weight again and trying to eat more but my appetite is not very strong.

Just heard from the doctor.   I have to have a PTScan.  Ich.   Oh well,  this will be an early catch if anything is wrong and she is suggesting immunotherapy this time.

Pray for good news.

I made fresh blueberry scones for the pot luck and have enough left for a couple of breakfasts.   Yea.

Happy Mother's Day to any Mothers who read my blog.

Sorry I have been so negligent and will not promise that I will improve, but I will try.

Bart and Barb are in Texas with Barb's youngest son's family for the weekend.    I am pet sitting for their Lily, dog and Kitch, cat.  I just feed them and have been sleeping at their house, so Lily won't feel so alone.     Nicky doesn't care where he sleeps as long as he is with me and of course I take him over with me.      When I am gone, that is where he spends his time anyway.

Got the most beautiful flowers for Mother's Day from Richard and Brenda.   I have a picture but have forgotten how to post it - silly me.      I will have to retrain myself.

I just got home from my lovely Adria's graduation from the 6th grade.   Next year she will be in junior high school.

It was a nice graduation.   Adria was honored as one of the valedictorians.    She looked beautiful all dressed up in her graduation dress and so grown up.   And she gave an acceptance speech.

We went to dinner together, the whole family, at a pizza place, Adria's choice.

A warm day, not summer warm but warm.   it was close t 90 degrees which I think is quite nice.

It was a quiet day.   I talked to a friend or two today as I really needed a voice in my home.    I miss my sweetheart's voice.   He was by no means a chatterbox but he responded to me so I didn't feel so alone.    Nicky just doesn't say anything:)

Went to Mass this morning and went to the social after Mass.   Sure glad they have that.

Tomorrow I will be going to a graduation of my granddaughter, Adria, from 8th grade.   Hard to think of a granddaughter in high school.

We had storms last night.    My gauge which is 3 inches was overflowing.    We needed the rain but does it all have to come at once?

Today I went, with Bart to a  travel agency to make the reservations for my trip to Milwaukee in June for Jessie's wedding.   That went well.   Now i just need to flesh out my trip.

I planted this afternoon.   I had several herbs, (parsley, thyme, chives, Basil, rosemary that needed to be placed in the ground.   A s wet as everything was this was the perfect time.    Hopefully they twill grow, I am still struggling with Oklahoma gardening.

Turned out to be a busy day.

Kerry came to clean the house this morning, then Bart came and we cleaned out and planted the planter in front of my home.     Had to clean it out because "Bart and Barb's cats" have been using it for a bathroom.    We then saturated it with bitter apple.    Hopefully that will discourage them from continuing to use it.    I threw some lemon rinds in also.

Then the Air conditioner people came to do the spring check up on my Air conditioner.    It is old but still working just fine.

Tonight I will be at Writer's Club.     So a full day.    Should sleep well tonight.

I assume you all missed me.   I returned LATE on Tuesday night for a sojourn in Wisconsin.

Had a wonderful time with tons of friends who LIKE me.    I stayed with friends on Thursday night at the Tall Grass Condos and they had a party for me.    So many good friends and memories.

Then Friday I drove back to Milwaukee for the CWI gathering and lots more friends.   Maureen planned a super gathering.   It is a shame more people don't attend to hear the speakers and join in the fun.   That was Friday and Saturday.     Drove my friend Joan back to Howards Grove and stayed with her on Saturday night.

Then Sunday morning I went to church at Blessed Trinity in Falls.    Saw a few friends there then headed to the Black Pig in Sheboygan where Richard and Brenda and Bobbie and Bill joined me for lunch.    A good lunch and visit followed by an extended visit at Bobbie and Bill's house.   I stayed there that night then the next morning went back to Blessed Trinity to enjoy the Bible Study that I actually started 17 years ago.    They are still going strong with some new people.

I spent my last night with my friend Joan again and she did a reflexology treatment on my feet on Tuesday morning before I had to head to the airport to come home.

So you can see that I was a real vagabond.

I am finally all caught up from being away.     Nicky was glad to see me, of course, though he doesn't mind at all being at Bart and Barb's house.   Except for a quick trip to the grocery store, I have been able to be home and get rested.

Hope all is well with all of you.

Today was a beautiful day.   Nicky and I had a nice walk this afternoon.    I am trying to get out for a walk every day now, even when it is windy and chilly.    The weather has been like a see saw.    Sometimes freeze warnings in the morning then temps up in the 70s in the afternoon.    It is supposed to be 90 later this week.  At least I don't have 9 inches or more of snow like they do in Wisconsin.

Not much happening here in Oklahoma.   Just as well as I am going to be going to the Celtic Conference this weekend.

Another warm day but very windy.    Made it feel cooler and did not help the fact that we are on extreme fire watches all over the state.     I understand that there is at least one big fire burning in the northern part of Oklahoma.

I did a bit in my herb garden today.   When I get back from the Celtic Wisconsin visit, I will do my planting and want the garden all ready.   I can't to much at once but can do a little each day.   Nicky likes it when I am out in the backyard.

Today we had our Bible Study after about three weeks of a break.   We are starting a study of the second half of John's Gospel which should be interesting , especially because it is the favorite of our leader, Judy:)

Tomorrow I see my chemo/oncologist, Dr. Aye,.    Hope she is optimistic.   I am curious as to when I get my next PTScan.

Spent two nights with Bobbie and Bill and was treated like a queen.   Went to the Sunday service at Grace Episcopal Church with Bobbie on Sunday.

The Wild Game Dinner/Beer Tasting was WILD.   We had 21 people enter the beer tasting.   I am so impressed with us.  This is the 41st annual event and it is just as strong as when it started at Mom and Dad;s for so many years.   Having the winner of the event host the next one is genius.

Just got home from the Holy Thursday services at Holy Family.    They are quite long but we had all the Holy Thursday extras plus 10 people who were confirmed into the faith tonight.   A very lovely ceremony and we were bilingual also.    Divided between English and Spanish.

The rest of the day was quiet except that I got a call from Nora who has received her DNA analysis and found out she has the same as me with different percentages on the ethnic regions.   She is even more British Isles than I am.      We were impressed however that I was listed as definitely related and so are Bret and Bart.

Happy St. Patrick's Day to ye all.

Just got home from a lovely evening at the Shamrock with Bart, Barb and Marlies.   I had a corned beef dinner.  Reintroduced myself to the owner and he said that they might be able to work something out for the Celtic Club on the third Thursday.   I am hoping that Friday will work for our people, as they open at 11:00AM on Fridays but 4PM the rest  of the weekddays.

Celtic Club of Lawton met today.    We went to the Shamrock to find them not open.    They have changed their hours.   They now open at 4PM from Monday through Thursday.    Not enough lunch crowd I guess.  So we went to McAllisters' down the street.    There were six of us today.    We decided not to meet next month as I will be gone and Robbi can't come for sure.   The following month, June,  we are going to try to change our meeting day to Friday at 2PM in the third week.   The Shamrock is open on Friday from 11AM and we do like it there.    I now have the number of the owner so can confirm our welcome.

We talked about St. Patrick and lots of other Irish and Scottish things.  Altogether a good meeting.

Another lovely day in the upper 60s with the sun shining.   A bit of a breeze but very pleasant.   We really really need rain though and except for a very small chance on Sunday, no prospects.   Our fire danger is high to extreme so we REALLY need it.

Went to Mass and Bible Study this morning.   We are discussing the upcoming Sunday readings until after Easter.   We only got through the first reading from Jeremiah where it says "I will be their God and they will be my people."     (Always one of my favorite quotes.)   and the Psalm.    We always have too much to say and were talking about the fact that we should be more aware of when people need us.   Not just family and friends either but all of God's children.   The secular world calls it Random Acts of Kindness or Play it Forward.   God came up with it first.

We are not meeting again until after Easter.

I did some grocery shopping and cleaned another window this afternoon.   I am getting close to having the inside of the windows done.    Makes me feel good.   I am DOING something again.   Yea!
