Saturday

A good day.    I baked Irish Brown Bread late this morning so it would be fresh for the Sheboygan County CWI Book Discussion.   We gathered at 1PM.   It went well.   There were seven of us.   We had assigned Morgan Llewellyn's bok 1916.  Morgan writes wonderful historical fiction.   She has a whole series starting with 1916 covering different era's with the same hero and his family.  The last was 1971.  I have it but have not read it yet.    I really have to put regular reading time into my day.
It was a nice afternoon.    Luann, one of my friends, went to Mass with me.   That was nice.   It is a good feeling to be sitting with a friend or family at Mass.   After all these years, many of the other members of the congregation are friends too.   I like that.

Tonight I will be driving in to Sheboygan to the Dukes of Devon restaurant for dinner and to listen to two members of the Leahy's Luck Irish Band perform.   So I am doing this early as when I get home, I intend to go directly to bed without passing go.    Did I remember that right?  Oh Well.   Until tomorrow then.

Whew

A very busy day.

Started when I went to the Exchange Bank at 7:30AM to meet my hairdresser, Teri, for coffee and a visit.   Then we went to her shop for my cut.   I left from there for Aurora for my Chiropractic treatment, then to Fleet Farm, the bank and home.   By then it was noon already.

I spent the afternoon resting and working on Tallgrass stuff.

Tonight was choir practice and now it is time for bed.   Roxie is begging to be brushed again but I have brushed until my hand is almost sore.

So good night to you and good night to her.

Just got home from the Poets at Mead meeting.   A nice crowd and lots of good poetry.   I had forgotten what I was going to bring so read one of George's from the book he gave to all of us.    Everybody was totally impressed - with the poem and the book itself.

Tomorrow I get a chiropractor to work on me again.   I am feeling somewhat better with that and a new exercise that Dr. Fehrman has me doing.

Lots of errands in the morning including a haircut at 9AM.   So I am going to go to Exchange Bank at 7:30AM to change things up a bit.   I believe that Teri, my hairdresser will join me.

So until tomorrow

Good Day

I remembered to put the flag out this morning and bring it in just before dark.

Mike, my health insurance agent, stopped by and helped me fill out the papers for next year's Medicare supplement.    Since AARP  UGuaranty have changed their things, I have gone with another company.    The AARP one will work fine for Mom.    They all have premiums now.

I worked on the book a lot today.  I might be able to tomorrow too, but it is iffy.

Tonight St. John's had the Mass for the souls who went to heaven in the past year.   I was there to sing as I am now in the choir.   Last year I was there for Dick.   I just put my prayers in for Jacquie, and Rita and my Georgia friend, Louisa's daughter, who were in my heart.  I love the ceremony Fr. Dan does and doing it on Memorial Day was a plus.

I have something tomorrow night and Thursday too.   What is happening to my social life.   Tomorrow is the Poets at Mead and Thursday is choir practice.

Til tomorrow.

Endless Monday

An unusually busy Monday, as if they are not busy enough.

I had to get gas.   So I hurried as fast as I could to leave by 8:30AM.  It wasn't easy because I fell back to sleep after I fed Roxie at 5AM and didn't wake up til 7:15AM.   But I was able to be pretty close to 8:30 when I left.

Went right to the gas station.   The pump did not want to accept my card so it took longer than I thought to get through.   Fortunately,  the Holy Dusters at Blessed Trinity were still in the building when I got there, so I didn't have to ask Jean to go over to the church and let me in to get the hosts to take to Meadow View.

Bible study was well attended.   All but one of our members were there.   We will be forever on Acts.   We are discussing the very first "Vatican Council" when the decision was made to allow Gentiles to become Christian without becoming Jews first.

Then to Mom, stopping at my friend Barb MacEwen to pick up my Mary Kay.

The gentlemen that I bring communion to was already gone for his dialysis.   I left him his sacrament in a special envelope which I did before.   He is happy for that, but I am not.   I feel he really needs a person to person.

Mom is weak but seems to be doing alright mostly.   We always have good visits.

I left there and picked up Sy Regan for the Sheboygan County Writer's Club meeting.   It was quite lively.   Lots of announcements.   Next month we will have our Christmas party in Sheboygan.  Several members read their piece they did for the "assignment" which was what would we tell our 16 year old self, if we had the chance.   I did not choose to do that.   Those who did had some interesting ideas.    We did get to read our other work as there was some time.   I read the Isle of Man segment from my book.   I got good comments.

Home again it was almost four.   I was supposed to be meeting my Health Insurance guy at 5PM.  He had called twice and had been hoping to meet with me at 2PM or so as his other local appointments were cancelled.   I called right away, he had gone back to Green Bay and he will stop off tomorrow morning at 8:30AM.   I am here all day until the Mass of the Dead tomorrow night. So that is good.

So I am tired.   I feel that it was a day well spent.  Busy and a lot was accomplished.

So.  Dia Dhuit

Sunday

Today was a good day.   Woke up to snow on the deck and some portions of the lawn.  It was gone before I headed to church at 9AM.

I was lector today, so went a bit early to review the procedure and the readings.  It is always noce to be an active part of the service.    Fr. Dan had a blessing of the sick service after Mass, so I stayed   I figured that God must have gotten me assigned to read at the Sunday Mass so I was there for the blessing.   As you know I usually go to the Saturday evening Mass.   It was very nice.   I know that the blessing will help.  Prayer and following doctor's orders and I will be all healed and pain free soon.

Roxie is eating again.   Not much but some.   She dies not seem to feel sick and I see water levels going down so I feel better about her.   I had to give her fluids today which I know doesn't make her very happy.    Would you believe that just as I was starting, the doorbell rang.   Jean brought the papers over.  Then we were right in the middle and the phone rang.    Needless to say I didn't answer the phone.   Those were the only people that stopped by or called today.

So that was the day.    I just puttered around with various writing, cleaning and food storage  projects.  Tomorrow will be quite busy.   Bible Study, Mom, Sheboygan County Writers and my insurance guy, Mike to help with the Medicare supplement.

Whew.

Til tomorrow  Stay warm
