It was hot today.   I understand up into the 90s.   Thank heavens, we have a nice cool house to live in.

I spent all day trying to just keep ahead of the game.     Kay, from Embrace, arrived at 3:30PM and I went to Mass.   This is the second last Mass that Fr. Van Beek will be saying for us as our pastor.    I put together a Blessing Bundle and a card for him as I am unable to to the the goodby Mass and reception tomorrow.  I appreciate that he has been a good pastor, a teaching pastor.   And when Dick was in Rocky Knoll, I saw him and he came to bless Dick.   That meant a lot to me.

We had stew for lunch and pizza for supper.   A nice easy cooking day.   Tomorrow I intend to wash the outside windows.   I got a Windex thingy that one attaches to your hose.   One of my friends did it so I am going to try.     I will not take a shower and then mid morning, I plan on spraying with insect repellant and then spraying all the windows.    It is supposed to be hot again tomorrow so that should be a good time.

Wish me luck, the windows are really bad.   Kim, one of my helpers did the inside but  I can still see outside dirt.

Till tomorrow then.   By the way, I figured out how to send pictures from Picasa to Blogger with the changes in Picasa, so tomorrow intend to send some.

Yea.

What a nice day.   It was quite hot.  The thermometer on the deck showed it to be 89.9 this afternoon.
There was little humidity, so it was not uncomfortable.

I watered all the plants very deeply as it is supposed to stay hot for the next few days.

This evening was the opening of the Alive in the Arts Juried Exibition at the Plymouth Arts Center so I left for the event as soon as Kay arrived to take care of Dick.

I got there just as they were announcing the merit awards and the winners.   It was very eclectic.   There was everything from watercolor to fingerpainting.   My cousin, Stephen Bowser had an entry in again, so I got to see him and his brother and sister and other relatives again.   I also ran into my friend, Jane Kocmond, a fellow poet who also does photography.   She had two entries in the show.   I knew one of the other artists also, Larry Basky who does serigraphs.

Lots of other friends to talk to also.  Steve Hamer, a realtor friend has taken up piano and is really super.    An altogether lovely evening.

So I go peacefully to bed and will sleep with beautiful pictures in my head.

I hope you missed me last night.   It is always nice to be noticed.  I got to the end of the day and just did not feel like posting.    Isn't that awful.

Yesterday was shopping day.   That went really well.  It is always nice to know that I don't have to rush home.  I shopped, went to the bank and picked up a prescription for ROXIE, (would you believe).   She has one prescription.   My mother, 96 years old, also has only one prescription.  These two old ladies, Mother and Roxie,  are doing better than most, if I do say so, and I do.

Today, I tried Yoga again.   Last time, I hurt in my ribs and got nauseous towards the end of the session.    So I was a bit nervous about trying again.   But this time I remembered to breath, center my body and did not get sick.

Felicia and I had a cup of coffee and a breakfast bread together before the session and will do so again next week.

I love having Embrace.  They take care of Dick while I am gone and if I have any chores that need to be done, I just tell them and they do them.   What more can a person ask.    I came home to have a content husband who had been given breakfast and was all cleaned up.   Kim watered my plants and took care of Roxie too.  (She loves Roxie.   All the caregivers to.  Roxie was spoiled before and is getting more spoiled as time goes on.)

I took a nice nap this afternoon, waking up when Dick, who was also sleeping, called for me.  I probably could have slept for at least another half hour.    But it is what is is.   And we have had a nice afternoon together.

I spent the afternoon outlining a couple of projects that I really need to get started if I want to finish them in my lifetime.   I know that My Mom is 96, but what if I don't make it that long?   I have revised my Bucket List in the past few days.    Only those who ask will know what it is.

I can't believe that tomorrow is Friday already.   AND that we are into June already.  In less than a month I will get to see my grandson, Marcus.   How special is that.

I did my civic duty today and voted.     As it was the annual summer luncheon for the Kettle Quilters, I changed the caregivers time from this evening to this afternoon.   Kim came at 1AM and I zipped over to the Plymouth Library for the luncheon.   Such a lovely time.

We had subs for our main dish and the members brought salads and desserts.   I made some rhubarb/raspberry bars.    They were a bit messy but man are they good.    If you want some.   Come over in the next few days.

I voted on the way home.

I haven't another exciting thing to tell you as I am very tired.  Probably because I did not get a proper nap.  Dick is making noises like he is ready for bed so I will leave you now and get him settled.

Monday is coming to an end.   It was a beautiful Monday.   The sun has been shining all day.    There is little breeze and the temperatures are in the upper 60s.    Perfect.   I could live with this kind of weather year round.

Bobbie came at 9AM to be with Dick as she does every Monday.   Bless her soul.   I just love that girl.

There were 5 of us at Bible Study this Morning.  It does not matter whether there are 2 or 10, we always seem to find something to talk about.   Today we got into prayer and how well we do at this thing.     As Psalm 39 says, do we talk or do we listen.    Kind of dilemma as we are by our nature kind of bossy.   It is nice when we get done with all our our requests and petitions if we just sit back for a while and listen.  That can be the most beneficial time of prayer.

Mother was fine today.   I brought her a pasty and a piece of Tommy's saffron cake.  Then we paid her bills. We still had time to visit and I got home before Ashley, the nurse came.

Actually, I got home and fried up some bacon and liver for Bobbie and me for dinner.   I had meatballs and noodles for Dick so he did "permit" the cooking of liver in the house.  Bobbie and I Loved the liver.

Dick's INR was a bit low again, so Ashley or another nurse will be here next Monday and perhaps we will be able to have Nancy come to bathe him this week after all.    I hope so.   Don't know what caused the blip in the INR count.

We are still waiting for catheter supplies.   Ashley reordered and brought us an emergency supply to get us through.

So the day is done.   We enjoyed the story of Oscar Hammerstein II on PBS tonight.    This means we will probably get to bed a bit late, but it was worth it.  How can one person have contributed so much beautiful, unforgettable music?   But thank the Lord he did.

Until tomorrow.

This will be short as I am weary but content.

The pasty baking went just perfectly.   There were 10 guests, including Kathy Deeley and my Cornish friend Tommy O Hagan.   Tommy brought some wonderful saffron cake for a treat.

We made over 50 pasties and had enough filling left so that everybody got to take a bit home for hash for breakfast tomorrow.   I sent two pasties home with everybody and still have the stock that I wanted for the freezer.   They make the best quick meal and are so good.

Kathy makes pasties too and brought some of her dough which made an extra six pasties.   I will be able to taste her dough and compare it with mine.   She really liked mine though.   So I feel really good about that.   We then had a nice chance for a visit before Jeff came from Mother's to pick her up.

Duste came at 6:30 to help get Dick to bed and she is helping clean the floor up from all my cooks.   I was pleased with how everything worked in the kitchen.   I had spent two days making sure that the cupboard was clear for the different work stations.   We were able to set up five work stations in the kitchen and up to 6 people working at one time.    It was scads of fun.

So tomorrow starts the first full week of June. It is a rather busy week for me, but quiet for Dick.   He will like that.
