Just got back from Bart and Barb's and a lovely evening with Tim, Amber and the perpetual motion machine known as Augie.

He is cute as can be and a very very happy boy.   He is walking all over the place and can climb up the stairs but not down.

Will have another day tomorrow.    It is good.

July 1st.   The Independence weekend has begun.   It was a very quiet beginning here in Lawton, at least for me.   I was home most of the day, though I did go out and pick up a couple of things at Walgreen's and the grocery store.  According to my thermometer, it was 96 degrees today.

I finished the goofy American Girl Doll clothes that I had started years ago.

The rest of the weekend will have highlights as Barb's son Tim and his family are coming to visit.   I am making Guinness cupcakes and broccoli cauliflower salad (think you Leslie for that recipe) for my contribution to the days.

I can't believe it.   June is OVER.  Half the year is gone and I have been five months an Okie.

Whew.

This morning I picked up my new Oklahoma Will, Durable POA and Health POA.   One of those major things accomplished.    I am slowly whittling the list down.

This even Bart and Barb came for dinner.   I fixed teriyaki chicken wings, fried rice and fresh blueberry pie.    Barb can't eat rice so I make a nice big baked potato with fixin's.   We had such a lovely evening.   I do enjoy cooking SO much and love having company and people to talk to of an evening.

This weekend is the 4th of July weekend of course.   Barb's son, Tim and his wife, Amber and son, Augie are going to be visiting.   I have been invited for family dinner on Sunday and will probably spend some other blocks of time with them other days.   I am looking forward to it.  Augie is a cute active little one year old.

I suppose, I should be grateful.  It is supposed to be even HOTTER next week.

I was willing to move south to get away from the cold, but I  somehow was expecting a dryer heat.

I have make my bed and will certainly learn to live with it.

I voted today.  Not sure if I was wise, but I had a choice of three and did the best I could.   I will NOT give up my right to vote.

Ran into several neighbors there.

Called Bret tonight.  They are also in a heat situation, so I got no sympanty:)

He and Janet are well.

That is all. I was home most of the day and just worked on general projects.

It was oppressivly hot today.  No breeze to stir up the air.

I did my grocery shopping today and picked up a couple of odd items that I needed.

Bart came by for a visit this afternoon, a nice break int he day.

I have almost finished the American  Girl doll clothes.

Tomorrow.   Tomorrow. I love you tomorrow.

The heat continues.    I had a phone visit with Jeff today and it is HOT in Wisconsin too.  So I guess I am no worse off here.

He and Kathy went to the June A Palooza fundraiser that Meals on Wheels put on at Christopher Gardens which are not always open to the public and are spectacular.    It included areas in the gardens that were ethnically themed with food and pairings of beer and wine.   Jeff said the gardens are spectacular and they loved the food.   The Black Pig was the Italian food and had mac and cheese which is one of their specialties.    Jeff and Kathy introduced themselves to Rob, the owner, who is the son of my friends and ex neighbors Bob and Peggy Hurrie.   I made the Black Pig wall hanging that is displayed in the restaurant.   Rob was pleased to meet them.    The Hurries are such good friends.

Today, I was home except for church and I go to coffee and breakfast breads afterwards.   I am beginning to know people and that is one of my places to meet them.

Tomorrow, I have nothing special going so will go grocery shopping and pick up a couple to things I need for the house.   Got to go to the bank too.  I only have two dollars in my pocket.  Dick would be horrified:)
