What a gorgeous day.   I hope it holds through tomorrow when I am at Irish Fest.  There is talk of scattered showers but we will pray for none.

We were home all day and I just spent it making sure everything is as easy as possible tomorrow for the caregivers and Dick when I am gone.

Bobbie will be here from 10 to 5 and Kay in the morning and from 5 to when I get home.   I KNOW that all will be OK but I like to make it as easy for them as I can.

It was a nice day.   Just Dick and me together.   Roxie enjoyed it because it was nice enough to open doors for her so that she could smell and hear the sounds from outside.

I really have nothing exciting at all to tell you so will sign off now.

Take care of yourselves

There is a hint of autumn in the air.   It was quite comfortable and not at all humid all day today.

We had to get up early this morning as Jody, the cleaner, comes at 8AM.   This was fine for me.   Dick seemed to do well too.   He was able to rest well while Jody vacuumed.   He loves to sleep with the sound of the vacuum.

Today was the quarterly visit with Dr. Cheryl, the eye doctor, to check that hair that keeps growing under his lid.   It was there.   Otherwise, his eyes are holding their own.  We are to continue with drops an ointment to keep edema from developing.

Home again, we had the best corn on the cob.   Jeff brought it on Wednesday.   So We had corn and tomatoes for our lunch.   Then we both took a nap.

Now, we are into the evening. Kay is here to help with Dick this evening.   I made a trip to Walgreens to pick up some prescriptions.   Especially the ones for Dick's eyes.

I cleared a place on the mantle to display the flute.   It looks beautiful there and will keep it away from curious hands.   I practiced today and did pretty well.   I will use the metronome tomorrow so I do better with the beat.

So.  Tomorrow a whole day home with just Dick and me.   The next day I will be gone all day at Irish Fest so felt that it would be a good thing to be sure that everything is prepared for the caregivers and that he feels secure.

Jeff also brought fresh green beans and I will fix our dinner tomorrow around them.

I had to get up at 6AM this morning because I was scheduled to be at Jim Wilsing's house for my second flute lesson at 8AM.    That went well.   I still need to be working on being sure that the holes are sealed and I need to be very patient and slow down.   This will be very helpful for me to bring me tranquility when I am under stress.  Slow down and let the music soothe you.

Home again.   I fixed hamburgers and fries for lunch.   Jeff stopped by with a welcome supply of veggies from his and Kathy's garden.   We have corn, and cabbage, and cucumbers, and beans, and peppers, and blackberries to die for.   Yea.    We will have the corn tomorrow for lunch when we get home from Dr. Cheryl and his eye check.

It is our 26th anniversary today.    It was a perfect day as far as we were concerned.   Quiet and being together.    What more could we ask?   Well, we got flowers!    Richard and Brenda sent a beautiful floral arrangement of a dozen red roses.     So How Blessed Are We.

Hope your day was every bit as special.

I had Embrace change their hours for today from morning to evening so that I could go to Mass this evening.

So we slept until 9AM. I was so glad of the extra sleep.

I spent the morning working on CWI stuff, some things for Mother, washing clothes and cleaning up.   We had an early lunch of meatloaf and rice and gravy so that we could get to Fond du Lac to meet with Marty, the prosthesist for a fitting.   We go back in two weeks for the next fitting.

Everything went well in the loading and unloading until - we got home.   Then the seat jammed as we were coming out.   It will stop if there is any pressure or the seat is reclined.    We will have to work on that.   But the other three ins and outs went SO well that we feel pretty successful.

I went to the 7PM Mass for the Feast of the Assumption, a holy day.    Not too crowded.   What a shame, but that is the nature of things now.   We sang all the pretty Mary hymns and I really enjoyed it.

Tomorrow I will have a flute lesson in the morning and then the rest of the day is all for Dick and me at home.   Good thing.   Today was hard on him especially when he had to go out yesterday too.

Pray for us.   Your prayers mean so much to us.

This has been a day on the run.   Started out at 6:30AM because I had to get myself ready and take the trash out.    Then I helped Dick get up- and ready.    We had to get out of here by 10AM for my 10:30AM appointment with Dr. Murthy and for Dick's anti coagulation check at 11:AM.

Dr. Murthy is pretty sure that I have sprained my arm and that rest would be the best thing.   As that is not possible right now, we are going to try some therapy.

Dick's count was 2.9.  Perfect.

Home again, we had leftover Chinese for lunch.   Then a nap.

This evening, when Heather came, I had to go to vote, grocery shopping, to Walgreens and home again.

This is a week  on the run.   Tomorrow we go to Fond du Lac to have the next step on the new prosthesis then I will go to Mass in the evening as it is the feast of the Assumption.

I just poured myself a cup of decaf tea.   I am going to sip it and then go to bed.

This has been a very busy day.   Bobbie came at 9AM so that I could go to Sheboygan Falls.   There were 5 of us at bible study today.    A very interesting conversation.   The psalmist was complainign the God was hiding and demanding that God come and do His share.  We do this all the time.  Perhaps God expects us to do our share.

Then I went over to visit Mother who looks wonderful.   We got all our work done quickly and had a nice chance to visit.

I picked up Chinese food on the way home as Bobbie, Dick and me like that ever so often.   Now we have a couple meals of that so I won't do much cooking this week.    We had meatloaf sandwiches for supper.

I did get a nap this afternoon but am still tired as I had another rough night.  My hips were so sore that I could not get comfortable.

I have been hearing from a cousin on the Clifford side, going back to great grandma Bowser, MaryAnn Clifford.   She is the great grandaughter of Bridget.   This may be all I need to get me stimulated to go back onto Ancestry.    Just what I need - something else to do.   But this is stuff I can do at home and just involves computer work.

So until tomorrow

We were able to stay home all day today.   I didn't leave the house once.

I got up close to 9AM.   As it was a very disrupted night, this was a blessing.   I also DID get a real nap this afternoon.   I know that I slept for at least an hour. between 1PM and 2:30PM.  We did well today.   I am sore and a bit tired and Dick is kind of tired too but it was pleasant day anyway.

Heather from Embrace Care is here and is training another lady, Diane, to be a substitute, at least while Dusty and Kim are out on health issues.

I talked to Barb and Bart tonight.   They are fine.  Barb is three courses away from her Masters Degree.

This will be a very busy week.  Dick has three appointments.

I have been practicing my flute every day.   Jim will be very proud of me.

I can't get into my word processing apps so my writing is short and sweet in notebooks.

Richard called tonight to tell me that he is working on my computer.  He will be in communication with Rob who has been working on it at this end.   Richard reassured me that I am not to worry,   It will be fixed and it is only a computer, no matter how I rely on it.   What a guy.   He has a lot of his Dad in him.  Thank you Richard.

I wish you all health and peace.   Pray for all the hungry children in the world.   I remember an incident that happened 44 years ago.   I was feeding my Bret and watching one of these programs on the starving children in one of the drought areas of Africa.  They showed a clip of a starving baby, his boney little arms barely covered by flesh and his eyes as big as his sweet face and I wanted to give him half of what I was able to give to my child.   Here was my chunko who would not have even missed it.   Maybe that is a solution.   If each over-fed child's mother could ACTUALLY GIVE what her child doesn't need to a mother who is watching her child die what a joy this would be.   The mothers of the world helping each other without the interference of government and protocol.
Ah Yes.   I am a dreamer
