I do like Saturdays.    Nobody comes in the mornings and I can usually go back to bed after I feed Roxie.

This morning was like that.   We slept pretty well through the night. Roxie pestered me a bit from 5AM on but after I fed her she was OK - at least after she saw that I was not getting back up right away.   I finally got up at about 8AM.   I might have stayed in some more but Dick was waking up.   It is best that he has a meal before the morning is spent anyway.

We had a quiet morning.  We had spam and scrambled eggs and potatoes for breakfast.   This afternoon, I baked some lavender cookies and also a wonderful cream cheese and fresh lemon thyme spread.  This was after I napped.    So.  It has been a quiet and gentle day.    I need about a week of them.

Kay arrived at 3:30PM to be with Dick so that I could go to Mass.   It was a nice mass.  I was able to introduce myself to our new pastor, Fr. Dan, today.    He is usually surrounded before mass or running to get to St. Thomas in Elkhart Lake after mass.  But today he was there and  my friend Rosemary Mugan and I introduced ourselves.    I know he won't be able to remember all the names but at least when I go up to help minister the Eucharist, he will know that I am familiar.

Home again, we had dinner and now are going to go to bed early again, I hope.   It all kind of depends on Dick, of course, as I have to cath him and get him in bed.   But he seems eager to be there soon too.

Nora and Leif are in Wisconsin.   I thought I might hear from Nora today.   They are going to come over for an hour or two either tomorrow or on Friday.  I hope it works out.  We are home both afternoons so it is all OK with us.    I haven't heard from them yet but I am excited.

So time to wind down and go to bed.

The rain has come.    It has rained off and on all day and we had some yesterday and the night before also.   Already, the grass looks grateful.   Greening up in patches among the dry brown lawn.

Jody came to clean at 8AM and nice lady that she is, did not mind my going to the bank to pick up some papers for signing while she was here.

I kept busy today washing clothes, paying bills, sending things on the internet and cooking.   Tonight I will go over to Hallmark in Sheboygan to pick up the Christmas Ornaments for Christmas presents while Heather from Embrace is here.

I did send the 5 generation picture to the Plymouth Review/Sheboygan Falls news on the net.   Since the Press is doing their solicitation drive, I cannot figure out how to do that online for them so I think I will just mail it.

I just got home from my shopping expedition.   It was very successful.    Dick is in bed and about ready to go to sleep.   I am just going to unwind and then go the bed myself.

So until tomorrow.

Thursday.    Kim came at 7:30AM to take care of Dick so I was able to leave for Yoga at Yoga on the Lake at Kohler..  I stopped at the Market to pick up some coffee and tea that I can't find anywhere else and then met Felicia at the Craverie for coffee and a  breakfast treat.   This time I tried a chocolate croissant.   Really good, but I must say that the croissants that the sales rep at All Valley Acceptance brought for us for treats were much superior.  He would pick them up at a bakery on the way in.  They were chocolate, apricot and anything else you can imagine and as delicate as a feather.

Yoga went well.  I found that my ribs and my knees and my right arm are sore so I took the instructors advice and when there was pain, I leaned back and breathed.

I was home at 10:30 and spent the day cleaning the desk.   Rob from Preferred Computing brought my computer back home at about 11:00AM.   It was crashing again so I called him as he had installed the hard drive.   He believes it was a quirk (probably in Open Office which was updating at that time.  He had noticed other problems with it.)   It is just fine now and I think I know what to do if it needs to be updated again.

Then we ate and napped.   I have my desk almost cleared off.   What a joy.   I even have room for Roxie,

Mike from Accessability came this afternoon and did some changes to Dick's motorized chair.    He put wheel chair foot rests on which should help his right leg from falling off if the single footrest that is installed on the machine.  He made sure that the stump rests are positioned correctly to hold his legs when we take off the prostheses.   We will work with this for a while.   I have great hopes for the changes.

We had the knock off Olive Garden Tuscan soup for our supper with fresh country bread.  Am I ever glad that I have the oven downstairs to bake things in.   Fresh Bread with soup is such a pleasure.

We had the best rain this afternoon.   It actually got so dark that one would have thought it was evening.  And it POURED.   I hope this has been a blessing for the farmers.   My friend Rosemary says that they are really struggling to get their crops grown and harvested this year.

So that is the day.

Blessings to you all.

I got so much done today.   Dick always laughs when I say that as he says that I get a lot done EVERY day.

Heather from Embrace came this morning to get Dick up.   I left at 8:45 for my hair cut.   Jessica does a good job and I enjoy her.   So it was a nice hour off.

Somehow we got onto the discussion of the value of Children.   She had her little Maddie there with her.  Maddie was going to her Grandparents after her Mom was done with me.   Maddie is a loved child.   As I left, I told them about one of my favorite quotes.   I am not sure if it is totally accurate.  but this is my memory.   "Every Child has a right to believe that God created the earth just for him."

My constant prayer is that no child go to sleep hungry.

I have been on the phone or trying to finish projects all.  Day.  I am working on the laptop this evening because the system crashed again.  So I called Rob at Preferred Company, as he replaced the hard drive.   It seems to be something in Open Office.  He picked it up this morning and believes that it is fixed but is keeping it until morning to be sure.

So I am cutting this short as it is harder for me to work on the laptop.

Frankly, that makes sense to me.

Last night was a really difficult one.   I got awakened at least four times during the night.   Dick was restless and then needed assistance at 5AM, then Roxie had to be fed at 6AM.  Then I had to get up to put out the trash.   So I have been behind the game all day.

I finally labeled the last batches of wine that I will ever make.   Heavy Sigh!   Bobbie and I bottled them while Leslie, Bill and the girls were here so they could get an idea of the wind making process.   I had 6 bottles of Marigold,  7 bottles of Marigold Currant and one that took all the overflow from the two batches.    I named that one "The Dregs".   Should be interesting.

I also got the connection between Wells and Quicken repaired.   It is such a pain when that happens.   It was almost an hour then I had to spend another hour checking to be sure that everything was OK.     I also finished putting things back in the linen closet downstairs.

I make an appointment with Marty, the prosthesist for next week to hopefully get a  prosthesis on his right leg like the left leg.  That will be our second trip in the new van together.  The appointment is at 1:30PM which is usually between "things."

Mike from the wheelchair place will be here Thursday to hopefully put a wider base on his footrest.    His right root keeps falling off and dangling.   This is not good.

When Kim got her at 6:30 this evening, I set out for the Pig to do the grocery shopping.   It was good to be away for that hour as the day was rather intense.  I even went over to the Park and Shop.   Dick and I have set on a mission to try all Bush's Grillin' Beans.   There are seven of them and the Pig only stocks 5.   I DID find the other two at Park and Shop.   We have tried three of them already and like them all.   So perhaps we will NOT get a favorite.    Only time will tell.   You can see it does not take much to amuse us.

So good night sleep tight and don't let the bed bugs bite.

The temperature went over 100 degrees again today.   We were hotter than it was in Lawton and Oklahoma City.   Go figure.

When I got dressed this morning, Roxie crawled onto the shelf in the cabinet in the bedroom on top of my t shirts.    I did not have the heart to shoo her out of there and she stayed until about the time I got home at close to noon.   Good thing I noticed her go in or she probably would have had the doors shut on her.

I remember one day when Bart and I lived in our little house in Sheboygan Falls that the following happened.   I was rushing out of the house to go to work and a drawer that I kept linens in was open, so I pushed it shut on the way out the door.   I came home shortly after 5:30AM, let Zero out and started getting things ready for dinner when I realized that I had not seen Waylon anywhere.   I started searching and finally heard a quiet little "mew" coming from that drawer.   I opened it and Waylon shot out of there like a rocket.    He thanked me for releasing him with a big hug and high-tailed it to the litter box.   Poor Kitty was shut up in there all day.

I left at 9AM this morning for bible study after Bobbie got here.    We have been meeting in a room that has a window air conditioner.   That rectory building does not have central air.    The study went well.  There were six of us and we had to do a lot of praying for those that were not there.  They had emailed me with their requests.

Mother is doing fine in her little air conditioned Grandma House.   She and I got her bills paid and I put her pills out for the week and we had a nice visit.  I read her letter from Nora.   Nora and Leif will be here for a visit.   Sure hope I get to see them.    Time is always so precious when one is visiting.   Perhaps I can have them here for a lunch or breakfast.

Bobbie put the enchilada stack that I had assembled yesterday into the oven at 11AM so that we could eat shortly after I got home.  It was really good.  I have not made one for a long time.  A welcome change.   Sure glad that I have my "summer kitchen" downstairs.

Dick is all settled in bed now and I believe that I will be joining him so until tomorrow.

Another hot and muggy day.    This was a day at home.   Actually, I did not have to leave even once.  They are still promising a "Possibility" of rain this afternoon or evening.   ANYTHING would be so welcome.

It was a totally quiet day.   Have not heard from or seen a single soul.   Last night was a really rotten night.   Dick kept trying to sit up and had trouble, so I had to get up and help him.   I did pretty good most of the day but am really feeling it this evening.

We had leftover Mac and Cheese for lunch and are sharing a TBone Steak for supper.   I spent some time this afternoon preparing an Enchilada Stack for tomorrow's lunch.  The rest of the day was on the computer sending off information to CWI people and trying to get ready for this coming week.

Heather from Embrace just arrived and will take over the house and Dick for the next two hours.   I am so grateful.   I need a bit of time for me this evening.    Hopefully, this will be a good night for my sweetheart.   Usually if one night is bad, he is so tired that the next is pretty good.   He is having a lot of pain in his right "foot" tonight and is "pacing" in his chair.

Please pray for him.   I am getting daily U Tube vignettes of Marcus.   He is learning to eat many new foods, and rolling over and fell asleep all by himself the other day.   Such a big boy.

Tomorrow everything starts over again.   It should be a quieter week, though we will probably have to make an appointment to go to Fond du Lac to have some work done as far as prostheses.   The right one is just NOT right.

So sleep tight and pray that I will too.   I had gotten so rested and one bad night has wearied me.
