A quiet day at home except for Mass this evening.

They said it was warmer, but the difference was not really discernible.  Cold is cold.   Nicky and I spent the day working on various projects that are fast coming up.

He is a very pleasant companion.    Tomorrow will be more of the same.   I may go out to Rhine to shoot pistol.   The league started Friday but the roads were so slippery that I was afraid to go out alone.

Cold and Snow

I am really surprised that we are getting so much snow as it is SO cold and usually there is no snow when it IS that cold.   We got quite a bit.   I imagine that Big Z will be out sometime tonight or early morning to clear us out.

I had an a ppointment with my chiropractor today.  She worked on my sore areas which are actually feeling much better.  I'll see her next week to see how it goes.

I spent the rest of the day putting more of Christmas away, sorting things for taxes and working on Tallgrass stuff.

Scott called off choir because of the weather.   I am tired anyway and will be going to bed soon.   I am getting somewhere with my reading goals so feel good about that.

Tomorrow is quiet but I am going out to Rhine to shoot pistol league.   The roads should be in good shape by then and there is no more snow predicted.

Still cold

Actually it was colder yesterday, but it warmed up better yesterday also.   Tomorrow is supposed to be the bitterest cold of this spell.    I did all my errands today so that I can stay home all day tomorrow.   I will only have to go out for Nicky and the mail.

Today, I got a haircut.   I met Terri, my hairdresser at The Exchange Bank  for coffee at 8AM then we went to her Klips and Tips for my cut.   After the cut, I went to the post office, got gas and did my grocery shopping.  I really did not need much but am low on dog food.   I am still trying to figure out what Nicky likes and get on a schedule.   We are getting there.

Today he heard me drive into the garage when I came home and was just squealing until I got in the house.   So he is becoming comfortable with sounds and seems to be really liking me.   I told you all that my new doggie had to be willing to love me more than life itself.

I am taking Christmas down a bit at a time.   Will be done by Saturday as I did not put up as much as I have other years.   I am trying to sort and clean the storage area as I restock the shelves.

Hope we at least have sunshine tomorrow.

Whew

It is SO cold.    Got all the way up to +6 actually.   It was -5 when I left the house this morning.

This is SO hard on Nicky.   The pads of his little feet get cold and he can't stay out long.    He finally peed this afternoon.   I was afraid that he might burst.

There were only three of us there today.   Some gone, some avoiding the cold.  We always go ahead anyway as long as there are two or more.

Then I went to see Mom, via PetSmart.   I bought a training pad thing to put in the garage.   If this cold lasts too long, I am hoping that I can get the mutt to pee in that.  I have it in the garage at the foot of the ramp.  I don't think it will work actually.   And he eventually HAS to go.  He is the master of holding it.    I am sure we will get used to each other and have a schedule eventually.    He is the sweetest little thing and very affectionate.

Mom and I had a nice visit.   She says she is weak and is, but her spirit is not weak and she is still full of curiosity and the desire to remember and visit.

On the way home I stopped at SVA (Sheboygan Visual Artists) to pick up the two items that I won in the silent auction.   I have two original framed paintings.   I can't describe them because at least one of them will be a gift.   I already know to whom.

I got home and took a nap.   Then I caught up on mail and bills before it was time to join my neighbors, Roger and Pat Cook to a preview of John Mc Givern's Around the Town that is about Plymouth.   It will be shown the first time on Thursday.   The preview was super fun and they said the biggest they had ever had.   It was in the High School auditorium.   The students provided food.   Road America provided cupcakes.   There were other vendors.   The preshow was the Plymouth High School German Band.  Then we got to see the show and after the preview heard from John and other members of the crew with a time to ask questions too.   So great.   I am so glad that Pat asked me if I wanted to go.   I bought a DVD of the show too.

So it is bed time for this lady.  I am tired and HAVE to get up tomorrow because I have to be up and out before 8AM tomorrow.   Hair cut day and I am joining my hairdresser, Terri for coffee at the Exchange Bank before the cut.

Good night and God Bless   _Red Skelton
