Wow   the last day of August.     I can't believe that it is almost Labor Day.   I think most of you know that my son Bret was born on September 4th which was Labor Day that year.    At least five women were in the birthing area at the hospital when I came in and one of the nurses said.   "Just because it is Labor day didn't mean you all had to come at once."

Temps were in the mid 80s today so tolerable.     The rain has apparently passed.    It was a quiet day, I worked on several projects and feel grateful that I WANT to work on things.    It means I am feeling better.

Going to dinner at Bart and Barb's tomorrow night. I am making potato salad.

We had rain today, praise the Lord.      We are still glad to be getting it after the long weeks of hot weather that has dried us out and left us with fire danger.

Aside from that I worked on my sewing and crocheting projects and took care of Nicky.

Leslie called this afternoon, Thank be to God.   She sounded good and is in a nursing home with an excellent rehab center.    Now she can work on getting strong enough to go home.

Another quiet day.    I did go out to do my grocery shopping for the week.   But aside from that I was home all day.

I finished one of my quilting projects and made headway on another and even did some crocheting which I have started again.

Talked to Bart this afternoon.   He is the only person aside from the grocery story that I talked to.

It was in the 90s today.    A big relief from those weeks of triple digets.

I went to Mass and Bible Study this morning. Both very rewarding.    We prayed for everybody.    The rest of the day was at home.     I did a lot of crafts and generally cleaned.
'
Bret called this evening.   How good to talk to him.

I am worried about my Louisiana people.  Can't reach any of them.

Bart got good news.   They will be able to help alleviate the pain in his shoulder.   YEA!!

What a day.    I woke up to thunder and lightening and rain.      Welcome rain.   It has gone a long way to alleviating our drought.       It rained until about noon.      Then I took Nicky for a walk.

Got a lot done on my projects and took care if some laundry.   \

Bart is going to another specialist about his injured shoulder tomorrow.   Please pray that they find something and can help get rid of the pain he is in.

I am going to Writer's Club tonight and have actually written a poem to read.    I am really starting to feel better.

Except for a quick trip to the store, I was home all day.    Got a lot of crafting done.

Barbara stopped by with my protein drinks.     She was off today.

I haven't heard from Bossier City.   Tried to call.    I am assuming that they are getting Leslie settled in a proper rehab/nursing center so that she can come home and be healthy.

Please keep praying.

Went to the 8:30AM Mass this morning.   I got up a bit early so I could take care of my Nicky.

Spent the rest of the day at home.   A quiet day..    I sewed and crocheted.  (yes, crocheted.   I have started a lap robe with some yarn I have in the house.)

I called Dolores this evening to check on Ken.   He had his surgery last week.    He is doing very well but please pray for his continued recovery and healing.   I don't know a more optimistic or good man than our Uncle Ken.
