A bit warmer but still cold. Tomorrow is supposed to be spring like. I hope so.;
I was home all day again. This has its advantages but its disadvantages. I miss someone to talk to. But my privacy is nice. I would give up my privacy in a minute for a "voice" in the wilderness.
Got my taxes all ready to send to Mark. I love my Mark. We have known each other for over 30 years and I trust him to take care of me.
So Tomorrow is Sunday, The day of rest. How can I tell:)

I finally had a day at home. Now that evening is here, I am wishing for a "voice" but was still glad of the quiet day. The past week has really been hectic.
It was COLD. My Wisconsin friends will laugh at the high 30's low 40's being cold, but it is here:) Actually the wind was really strong this morning and Nicky did not want to have anything to do with outside until it got really light out and he was, I think, desperate. The sun was shining anyway, so we did get a walk in the late morning.
I am working on assembling income taxes. EEEWWWW. But I want to get things in motion as soon as possible. This year, I SHOULD get a refund. It was a very deduction heavy year and I paid estimated taxes too. Will there ever be a "normal" predictable year for me?

First: Happy St. Brigid's Day. If you forgot to put our the Brigid Cloth (the Brat Bhride) last night, let me know and I will send you a piece so you have the healing cloth in your home until next year:)
Second: I noticed that today is the anniversary of the Columbia Space Shuttle when 7 of our astronauts were killed in the explosion on reentry.
1986 was the first of the two great disasters, the Challenger. This is actually what got me back writing poetry. I will share that poem which is in my Fragments poetry chap book.
THEY SOAR
They soar.
We send them- Emissaries to the edges of the grasp of the planet.
They stride.
These heroes of our time
With joy and pride and courage.
With reckless abandon, they enter the capsule
And we fling them into the void.
We name them Astronaut-Cosmonaut
These names make our hearts and minds ache with pride
Because they are human - like us.
We thrill as they rise from the shackles of Earth,
Feeling as they rise, the thrill in the pit of our stomachs,
As they experience
The ultimate carnival ride-
A journey beyond the clouds-
A reach for God in his heaven.
They satisfy
Man's eternal curiosity,
His need to see a little further down the road.
We see them leave the womb of the capsule and float in the nothingness
On a man-made umbilical cord.
So Brave-So foolhardy.
We watch them walk on other worlds- with Giant Steps.
They talk of God, and of Pride and of Beauty that leave them breathless.
In view of the whole world and yet beyond our reach,
They perform their deeds in glory.
And sometimes our emissaries don't come back.
And we cry for the.

Hey. I am supposed to be retired:
I had WAY too many errands today.
The morning was quiet so I reminded all my Celtic Friends that they should put our their Brigit cloth tonight. The Brat Bhride. I know you all are familiar with this lovely Irish custom.
Then, my haircut appointment was scheduled for 12:30PM. After that, I had to go to DMV (they don't call it that here) to get new license plates. I find that annoying as I just got mine last February, but there you are. On the way home, I got my lottery tickets, groceries and some wine.
Whew.
Then tonight was Writer's Club. The book is selling slowly. I have over $9. in profits. Woo Woo.
Some reading, I shared the second Writers/Poets book from the SVU and Poets at Mead which I had lost but is now found.
So it is now definitely bed time. And Mary is tired:)

A warm Sunday. All the way up into the 70s. Nicky and I took a couple of nice walks today. This afternoon, we ran into my friend, Robbi, from up the street who is in the Celtic Club too. She was walking her dog, Mugs. The dogs got along just fine.
Actually, Robbi came over on Thursday afternoon for tea with me. It was an eventful week.
I took dinner over to Bart and Barb tonight. They were going to come here, but Bart was hurting so I took it there. We had teriyaki chicken wings and fried rice with steak and potatoes for Barb. I had make a berry crisp for dessert and a cabbage apple salad too. A nice evening. I like having people around to talk to.
