Here it is Saturday and I have not posted for a couple of days. Barb is on a quilt retreat. I told her to sew herself silly:) She certainly needed a break.
Last night I slept over at their house. The night before Bart had nightmares and didn't sleep well, so we decided that I would be there last night and tonight, just in case he does wake up and needs someone in the house. He slept well last night, he said.
I came home this morning and spent the day doing things here. After I feed Nicky at 4PM. we will go over to Bart's and be there til morning. Barb will be home tomorrow afternoon. Bart and I have done just fine. It is nice for me to have my main meals with someone. I eat better and so does he. We had meatloaf and baked potato last night and will have Green Meatballs and muffins tonight. He probable is not eating as good as he should the rest of the day but assures me he is eating something.
We also went out to stores and to do errands a couple of times. It is GOOD for him to get out of the house.
Mother's Day flowers just arrived at my door from Richard and Brenda!!! They are gorgeous and brightening up my dining area.

A totally unique Wednesday.
The funeral for my neighbor, Mary Wilson, was this morning. I went to the service, which was at 9:30AM so did not got to bible study today. It is far more important to be with people in need, and losing a loved one is one of the big ones. The service was lovely. I just got to know Mary in the past month or two and am happy for this joy. I was able to help at the meal by bringing over ice, when they were talking about going out to buy some. She was a beautiful lady.
I had a yearly eye exam today. They did a good job. I need an increase in my right eye. which I had noticed was a bit weak. They also took pictures of the macular of the back of my eye so we have a gauge if something happens. This is a fear of mine since Mother had that. I will also take vitamins to help ward off the disease. There is no cure or real prevention, but supplements can help delay problems.
We are supposed to get some thunderstorms tonight. I will have to water if we don't. Want to keep the grass green.
My tomato plants are dead. I will buy two more this weekend:)

Two busy evenings and busy days.
Yesterday was the Quilt Guild pot luck. Barb and I went together. I brought the food as she was busy all day and I was debating between hamburger noodle casserole or fresh fruit salad. So I brought both. We had a great program too. Two ladies with their Trunk show. They are dyers also and do a lot of fabric coloring if they think it needs it. Very inventive. They are doing a dying class on Saturday, but I just don't feel up to it with my joints they way theyache.
Today, I had my car serviced this morning. Then baked some scones for Ron Wilson and family across the street. His wife, Mary, died on Saturday. I took them some fruit salad too. The funeral is tomorrow at 9:30AM and I will be going.
Tonight was Writer's Club. There were five of us there. Would be nice to get more people. Some have moved. It was a good meeting. I read my St. Michael chapter from the Celtic Saint book.

Turned out to be a lovely day. We are finally getting some of the warmer weather I was promised when I moved to Oklahoma. It was in the upper 80s today. I DID plant the herbs I bought last week. Figured I had better get them in the ground before they died of neglect.
Went to the 8:30AM Mass. Was on as Usher so was a participant in the service. I like that. Went to the social after mass to visit a bit.
Bart and Barb invited me over or dinner tonight. We had cauliflower steaks and shrimp with cheesecake for dessert. The cauliflower steaks were a recipe that Barb has been dying to try and they were WONDERFUL. It is so much more pleasant to eat with others.
When I got home, I received a call from Richard and Brenda so caught up with them. I feel complete. It had looked like a long lonely day early on and turned out to be perfect!!!!!
