Another early HOT day.    My thermometer said 100.     The weatherpersons are saying 95.    I hope they are right - Under any circumstances - it is HOT>

I was home all day.    Watered plants, finished cleaning my sunroom, did the wash.    So I didn't feel so alone until later in the day.     I love voices in the house and called a couple of people.   My lovely niece Suzi is going to call me back.     I am SO glad.

Tomorrow is just as quiet though I will go to Mass at 4:30PM.

We did get a thunderstorm last night.     Lots of thunder - VERY little rain but it scared my Vita no end.     The first thunder sent her under the bed in the guest room.     At least she crawls all the way under.   Our Chelsea used to run in to the bedroom when she heard thunder and just stick her head under the bed.     Her butt was there for all the evil things to get.

Love you all

Sorry that I got lazy the last couple of nights.     No excuse.     Nothing much is happening around here except the heat.    The weather people say it is 100 Degrees but my  thermometer shows 105 Degrees.      In any case HOT.

Vita and I did go for a couple of walks.    I took the longer one this morning as I knew the more oppressive heat was coming this afternoon.

I remember shortly after Dick and I were married that there was a rather long heat spell in Wisconsin.   We were having trouble sleeping and just being in the house and poor Jim, a night worker was sleeping on the deck which was shady during the day and not as hot as indoors.    One day Dick just said.   "That's it!!! We are getting air conditioning."     And we did too, very quickly.    That many years ago, we were really ahead of most people.

Well,  A quiet weekend ahead.  I'll go to Mass on Saturday night again.

Hope all is well with all of you.     Shelter in place as much as you can and wear masks in crowds.    Bart makes me do this:) so you all have to too.

A reasonably busy day.     Started off with a visit to my Chiropractor, Dr. Toy.    He put my neck back where it belongs and I feel better about that.

Spent the rest of the day writing and trying to think of ideas for poems and also for a quilt.   Will keep working on that.

Nothing else exciting.

Bart called as always.   I am so glad he is here and always checks on me.    I am truly blessed.

I have been thinking.     Kind of dangerous , right?

I was a child when the polio epidemic swept the country.    A neighbor girl died of the disease and sent my mother into a panic with all of her children.

Look up the Watts Riots.   I was in southern California when that summer occurred.    I lived in Costa Mesa no more than 10 or 15 miles from Santa Ana which had its share of the violence.    It was a scary time.    The only thing I can tell you is that this too will pass.    It will be in the memories of people 50 to 60 years from now when something as catastrophic happens again.
Let God bless us and let us help one another.

Take care.

We are supposed to have hot summer weather by the weekend.
