A day on the run and it was lots of fun.
Chelsea only got me up once during the night and it was almost 3:30AM. So my sleep was pretty much unbroken. I am still tired though and did not get a nap today.
I prepared things for our dinner as Bobbie came at noon and then at about 9:30 I left to do a couple of errands - picking up meds for Mother, picking up some books that Dear Old Books had ordered for me and then stopping at Kate's. It was her birthday and I picked up some of Cindy Matyi's note cards for her because I knew she would like them. We had a cup of tea and then discussed Ancestry together for a bit. I was able to tell her that Jim got my PAF and Ancestry merged which still makes me so happy.
Home again I finished cooking dinner just about the time that Bobbie got her. She and I had venison liver and onions with fried potatoes, asparagus and carrot salad. Dick had the last three but I gave him a hot dog instead of the liver.
Then Bobbie and I went down to the wine cellar and really had a lot to do. We racked Bobbie's Sheboygan Spice, Concord Grape with Rosemary, and current wines and we racked her new batch of pomegranate into the secondary fermentor. It looks like orange juice.
We also racked my Marigold wine. Later this month I will rack the Lemon Balm, then next time we work on things we can bottle at least three of the batches. Good thing, as we are getting into the growing season and new fruits will be coming available.
After we finished, Bobbie helped me with a couple of things on Ancestry and we had dessert. I had taken the second layer of my German apple cake out of the freezer. It sure is a keeper.
After Bobbie went home, I went to Mother's to take her some Spinach Noodle Casserole and her meds. We had a bit of a visit before I had to come home.
I had time to feed all the living creatures in the house (except me) before Nancy picked me up to go to shoot pistol. Nancy did much better, she had a bad time her last time. I did not do as good as last week but it was not impossible.
Home again, I was in time to say goodnight to Dick, then I fixed a supper for myself and have been quietly finishing things on my desk.
My friend, Maureen, called tonight and we went over the itinerary that Bee Smith from Ireland has prepared for us for our Ireland trip next February. We are SO excited. Anyone who is interested, let me know and I will send our combined agenda within the next two weeks.
So now I can stay home both tomorrow and Sunday, except for church and am planning on resting and finishing these odd projects.
God love you and enjoy your weekend.

A whole day at home. What a joy. This morning I wish I could have stayed in bed late but I finally had to get up at 6:30AM because I had to do all the animal and people morning things before 8AM when Joan, the cleaning lady came. But would you believe that Chelsea did not wake up the first time until almost 5AM? I woke up and was really afraid to look. There was snow all over the ground. Our girl was in her glory, rolling around in it happy as a clam. We got flurries off and all all day but all of it is melted.
I had a lot of computer work for CWI and a private project that I took on this week. I also cleaned out my cookbook shelves as my weekly big project. I got rid of a lot of stuff and have things easy to get at again. Wonder how long that will last.
We had leftover pork, potatoes and broccoli for lunch and egg salad and carrot salad for our supper. We are rather spoiled.
Tomorrow I have some errands to do and Bobbie will be here for lunch and to work on wine. So it will be a good day.
I did have a nap this afternoon so I am still going, but it is almost time for bed. I will have to wake Chelsea for her last walk of the night. Hope we do as well this night as we did last.
So, goodnight and sleep well.
God love you

This was a traumatic day for our Roxie. She had her annual vet appointment at 9AM. I was quite surprised as to how frightened she was. She hid her face in my arm and tried to be a little ball when they were examining her. As she as not been in a car for a year and the last time, Oscar was with her, this was awful for her.
She has gained quite a hunk of weight, which we knew. Aside from that, she is in very good health and even her teeth are clean and sparkly. She is a bit low on potassium but we can do a supplement for that. One of her shots has made her very tired today and she is a sleepy girl.
After I brought her home, I left almost immediately to do the grocery shopping. This week, I bought only what I absolutely needed as I am working on rotating the food in the freezer and fridge. I may do the same thing next week. We are really overstocked right now. Never thought I would say that.
Today, I was able to firm up the date for Mary Pat Kelly, author of Galway Bay, an excellent novel, to come to Sheboygan County to speak. Mark June 3, Thursday at 6PM down on your calendar. She is a marvelous speaker and I recommend the book.
This is SO exciting.
It rained off and on all day today and was chilly and damp. We may even get a couple of inches of snow tonight. At least, tomorrow, I can stay home all day. Too bad I can't convince Chelsea to use the bathroom, then I would only have to go outside once - to get the mail.
Have a nice day yourself and be healthy
God love you

Here I again. Do you believe that I have posted 2480 times on this blog?
Today was very busy. Tomorrow is not much better. Today, we had to be at Advanced Eye Care for an appointment for Dick. He has a lash that is growing into his eye. It was there again. Hopefully it will not be a problem before his next appointment in October.
Then we had the last of my batch of Chili for our lunch. This afternoon I went to the Kettle Country Quilters meeting. On the way there, I voted and picked up stamps for Dick, Me and the Celtic Women.
We had a nice meeting. Next month. Mercedes Chalmers is coming to present a program called "Tricks of the Trade." We are quite excited about this and are opening it up top the public. If you are interested, Mercedes will be with us on Tuesday May 4 at the Plymouth Public Library at 1:oo PM. We would like to have an idea of the attendance as we have limited space and want to have sufficient "treats" for everyone. Let me know if you want to attend. Either email me or call me at 893-5139.
Then the rest of today was quiet. It took a nap and cooked out dinner and just relaxed. Tomorrow is also busy in the morning BUT when I get home from shopping, I will not have to leave the house until I go to shoot pistol league on Friday night.
That is great. I called Leslie tonight and we had a nice talk. It is hard to have my children so far away.
God love you all

Monday. A full morning. The usual lets get going stuff and I also put a Kunert Spinach Egg Noodle casserole together. I left a note for Dick to turn the oven on at 10:30AM. (He was sleeping when I left.) Unfortunately, Dick did not know HOW to turn ON the oven so, we had tuna sandwiches for lunch and then the casserole for our dinner. Good thing we are flexible.
Got a message from Jim and Michelle that they has made it home safe and sound. Their doggies, Chip and Max were beyond happy to see them. Neither of them had ever been boarded before.
Tom and Kathy Keyes are back from Texas, and Tom was able to come to bible study this morning. Kathy had a commitment. It is good to have them back. We ended up in a lively discussion on the last part of Mark's 10th chapter, then going back to the rich man unwilling to give all he had to the poor. We wonder what we would do and indeed if everybody did that, who would be earning to provide a continuous source of help for the poor. Maybe Jesus wants us to be good stewards of what we have and how we use it. Priorities and management.
The afternoon was quiet. I just puttered because it is, after all, Monday and my day. Tonight was the Rhine Plymouth meeting. I have raffle tickets for our Fun Day - Brat Fry taking place on May 23. There are prizes undetermined as yet and the ticket is also good for trade on food. They are $1 each if you are interested.
So that is the day. Tomorrow, Dick has his eye appointment, I have quilt club and I will be voting. So kind of busy.
Take care
Until tomorrow, God keep you safe.

A perfectly lovely Easter. Yesterday, I fixed an overnight egg casserole and had Michelle put it into the oven while I went to the 8AM Mass.
The folk choir sang at the mass. They are very good, but I did feel that they are perhaps a bit more interested in showcasing their talents rather than leading to worship. I did like the songs. We had Fr. Van Beeck so St. Thomas must have had a guest priest. Fr. Van Beeck always has an appropriate sermon. And I got to give out communion which is always special.
I got home shortly after 9AM. Bobbie and Bill were there and Richard and Brenda came shortly afterwards. The casserole was done and I warmed and frosted the hot cross buns, set out the dishes and silverware and some sliced strawberries. The we ate an Easter breakfast together and visited until it was time for everybody to leave. Richard and Brenda to Easter with her side of the family and Jim and Michelle heading back to Oklahoma and their puppies. Bobbie and Bill stayed for a bit then went grocery shopping and home.
Dick and I were tired and took midday naps today. Poor little Chelsea is totally beat. Her tail is dragging.
Jim was able to meld my PAF (Personal Ancestry File) into Ancestry so I will not have to input the information AND I have tons of "leaves" that I can check against my information. I have been puttering this afternoon. Such fun. I will be able to give Jeff, and Michael O'Connor access to the file.
Tomorrow starts another week. No too busy, thank Heavens. Bobbie is coming on Friday to work on wine and we will be finally having our venison liver lunch. Yum Yum
Bod love you
