Tomorrow is a really weird day. I start off EARLY in the morning to go wild turkey hunting (my first time) with my dear brother, Randy, who is patient enough to put up with this late blooming hunter. Then I intend to come home and NAP because Dick and I are going to the last performance of the season of the Sheboygan Symphony.

The Sheboygan Symphony Orchestra is a real treasure for the community. They now perform at the Stephanie Weill Center which has the best accustics around. This finale is going to also feature selections by the newly installed vintage organ in the theatre. In case you want to know more, their site is www.sheboygansymphony.org.
Their director, Guy Victor Bordo, brings in great guest artists and as part of their coming, they have to go to the schools and present a program. Pretty good.

I'll let you know about the hunt.

Here it is the 8th already. May 6th I had an all day, out of it, doctor's appointment and yesterday was Dick's Birthday. So here I am again checking in. Bart came to visit today. He is looking so much better lately.

Here is a little poem I wrote a couple of years ago. I hope you enjoy it.

AWAKENING

Morning is a gentle time.
Time for meandering and meditating.
Meditating on the day ahead, the day past.
Past the wakening houses, I walk.
Walk with my furry companion.
Companion who listens but makes no judgements.
Judgements, I make myself, as we wander.
Wander through the streets, listening.
Listening to the world awakening.
Awakening birds chirp hesitantly.
Hesitantly, then hungrily as they soar.
Soar into the air where I would like to be.
Be free from constraints.
Constraints that keep my feet planted.
Planted on the ground.

To anyone who looks at my site, I would like to use it as a pooling spot for the genealogy research of the various branches of my family.

The branches of my family that I am tracing are:

Bowser (Buser)
Uelmen
Deeley
Ziegler

The Bowser portion is pretty complete. My cousin David Bowser, who is an avid historian and researcher, did a very detailed family tree of the family.

The one I have the least on is the Deeley Family, because we don't know how or exactly when Great Grandpa David and his wife, Honora Grady Deeley, came to the United States. We know they had my Great Aunt Elizabeth and my infant grandfather Michael with them.

I will publish parts as I progress and sort everything out.

Questions? Please ask.

The Irish had a big presence in Sheboygan last night. The Trinity Irish Dancers performed at the Stephanie Weill Performing Arts Center. (For those of you who are FROM Sheboygan but no longer live here. The Stephanie Weill Performing Arts Center is the old Marcus Theatre on 8th Street in the downtown. It has been restored to a theatre of outstanding beauty and utility. The Symphony and all the various performers that have come, are all raving about it. A real showpiece.)

Last night we were treated to a couple of hours of wonderful contemporaty and traditional Irish dancing. Mark Howard founded the Trinity Academy of Irish Dance at age 17. It has grown to be the largest Irish Dance program in the world. When he was 29 he formed the Trinity Dance Company to help introduce Irish Dancing in a format other than competitions.

What a joy. In two weeks we see Gaelic Storm on the same stage. Sheboygan is getting pretty smart about their music. The house seemed full last night. Even more so than for the Oak Ridge Boys and Ricky Skaggs.
