Another hot muggy day in Oklahoma.   Not as bad as yesterday though.   So there is hope.   And my joints are a bit less sore.

I was home all day.   A rather busy day anyway as Mary came to clean and Nate came to mow the lawn.

I have been working on an online class about Robert Burns and did some on that today.   Read and listened to "Ode to a Haggis."    Dick and I went to a Robert Burns night years ago at 52 Stafford when invited by my friend, Rip O'Dwanny.    It was well done, down to the piping and haggis.    Rip came over to talk to us and asked Dick how he liked the haggis.   My sweetheart responded immediatly that he loved it.   Rip started to walk away and then turned back and said.   "You're lying!"   He knew my man.

Dick did not approve of organ meats, though surprisingly, he liked liverwurst?   Go figure.

I thought of something today:   I would not like to be a Radical Islam who was gay in this world.    That poor person would not have a chance  and would be dealing with denial on both of the sides of his life that are the most emotional.

A busy morning.   I had a chiropractor appointment.   (I am doing great - don't have to go back for a month!  Now if the humidity will ease up, I am in good shape.)

I also took my information to an attorney who will adapt my will, durable power of attorney and health power of attorneys to Oklahoma laws.

One more hurdle accomplished.

Another HOT muggy day here.  The heat index well over 100 degrees.  Thank heavens it does drop into the 70s during the night.  Nicky and I take a nice walk in the early morning.   I am so stiff with the mugginess that I need that walk to loosen my joints.   Followed with a hot shower, I feel good the rest of the day.

I baked scones early this morning before the heat set in.   Then the first advertised Celtic Club meeting drew NO takers.    I was able to share Barm Brac and scones with some bridge players and others in the facility.   One of the bridge players is in my Bible Study.    Monica, my liaison at the center, wants to try again next month.    OK.  But I may just have to start collecting emails and numbers of Celtic People and send personal initiations which is how I started the Sheboygan County Branch way back when.

Anyway.  The first try, second if you count the Reading of the Proclamation, third strike am I out?

I was home all day.  Good thing as the heat index was over 100 degrees.  It is supposed to be as bad tomorrow.   I do have to go out, but can go from one air conditioned place to another.

I baked Barm Brac this morning EARLY before the heat settled in for  the Celtic meeting at The Center for Creative Living tomorrow afternoon.   I will make the scones tomorrow, again very early before the heat index climbs.

I hope the gathering tomorrow goes well.  The heat may dampen it but perhaps people will want to come to an air conditioned venue for an event.

When Nicky is out in this heat, he just rolls in the grass.   He is no dummy.

I liked this quote of the day.  Especially the last sentence.   Hope you do too.

The life that conquers is the life that moves with a steady resolution and persistence toward a predetermined goal. Those who succeed are those who have thoroughly learned the immense importance of plan in life, and the tragic brevity of time.

          -- -- W.J. Davison

A day mostly at home.    I did go grocery shopping today as I will be baking tomorrow for the Celtic Tea, which is on ThursdayI will be making Barm Brak, cherry scones and clotted cream.  I just hope that my efforts to advertise the event pay off.

Bart stopped by this afternoon.    Always good to have someone to talk to.

They say it may rain again tonight.  I HOPE they are wrong.   It is going to be hot and perhaps humid for the next several days in any case.

Just got back from the Wichita Falls Quilt Guild that I attended with Barbara.    A nice guild.  I shared two of my wall hangings this meeting  (St. Kevin of Glendolough and Wee Thatched Cottage.)  They seemed to like them.    The guild does a quilt show every other year and next year in February is the next one.   They said I should put the wall hangings in the show which made me feel good.

The members were sure glad to see Barbara.  She had missed a meeting or two with her knee and the trip.  Barbara's knee is doing much better but her doctor says she has to still use her cane.

Aside from that I was busy during the day.   Bart and I went out to Fort Sill and got me a temporary pass.   We are working on a permanent pass as there are times he might not be able to drive and I will be taking him.   We stopped an saw Barb while we were there.

So.   It is bed time for me.   I got home after 8:30PM and Mr. Nicky was sure glad I was home.

A quiet day at home.   Richard and Brenda called.  Always good to talk to the kids.   They are well and sitting in rain as we have been.

It poured this morning.  I was amazed, as when I went to church at 8:30AM it was not too bad.  Even when I came home, but then the skies opened and it RAINED and RAINED and RAINED. Glad I am not in the flood zone.  Everything is so Green.   I wish my herb garden was doing better but I think I may have to relocate it.   New to Oklahoma, I need to learn.

All is well.  I have several projects that I am juggling which, as you know, is good for me.
