Home all day.

I was busy.  Mary came to clean.  I finished up the wash and folding.   Found that the new cleaner Mary is using on the kitchen causes some stickiness.  Looks great but my shoes stick.

Pulled out the last of the Swedish meatballs and made some mashed potatoes for my main meal.  As George Hiner would have said.  "Wonder what the rich people are eating?"    Not better than we have and ours tastes better.

Worked a lot on the St. David wall hanging and started the second chapter of my Burns class.

We are in the midst of a grand thunderstorm.  My Dish went out twice and the lights also.  Very short duration but annoying.   That was one benefit of cable. Storms did not disrupt tv service though power could.    This is supposed to pass over quickly as I understand.  Sure hope so as Nicky will need to get out once more before bed time and rain makes it goofy.

Bless you all.

A quiet day.  Mostly at home.  This afternoon, however, I went to pick up my new glasses.   Should be able to thread needles much better now.

After I got my glasses, I went over to spend some time visiting with Bart.  He had intended to come with me to pick up my glasses but had to wait for a repair person for their air conditioning.   So after I got my glasses, I stopped and visited with him.   Their kitty Jack was sure glad to see me.  He was upset when the repairman came though.

So a productive day, I think.  Time will tell on the glasses.

Happy St. Colm Cille Day

HAPPY ST. COLM CILLE DAY

St. Colm Cille (aka St. Columba) is indeed a busy patron. Along with St. Patrick and St. Brigit, he is a co patron saint of Ireland and along with St. Andrew, a co patron saint of Scotland.

St. Colm Cille was Irish. He was a passionate and holy man. Sent from Ireland as a penance for a sin (it is explained in the book that I am working on) he landed on The island of Iona on the southwest coast of Scotland and from there was an apostle to the Scots.

There are no special remembrances of his feast day. Patrick and Brigit get all the glory in Ireland and St. Andrew in Scotland.

It's over

The colonoscopy went well.   They had gotten a bit behind so I had to be there about an hour longer than I thought but it was waiting.    Everything is perfect.   I have no problems in there at all.   So - five years til the next one.

I was starved by the time we got out of there, so Bart and I went to IHOP for breakfast and a wind down time.   He took good care of me.   On the way back to my home, we stopped at his house and he shared some of their leftover pizza so I didn't have to cook tonight.

I napped this afternoon as I am a bit tired, but overall I have no bad affects from the anithesia or the  procedure.  Yea.

Winding down for the evening and can be home all day tomorrow.

A day of "preparation" as I will be having my colonoscopy tomorrow morning.

The only thing I did outside the house was before I started the prep, dropping off a flyer on the Celtic Club to the branch Lawton Library which is only a few blocks from my house.   They have limited hours and I read that they were closed in May.    Good thing they are open again. One of the neighbors came in and said that she had missed the branch SO much.   She had to resort to her daughter's KINDLE:)

I am as you can imagine very tired as I am "empty".    I am sipping a cup of tea, my last fluids before midnight and then will call it for the day.

Wish me good health.   Bart will be taking me there in the morning.
