I think I could have slept until 10AM this morning.   Unfortunately, Dick was ready to get up a bit after 8.   He kept dreaming and calling me during the night.   It was funny.  He would call and I would ask him what he wanted.  He would say "Oh, you are right there."   So he was dreaming and he couldn't see the clock to know what time it was.   Oh Well.   At least I got SOME extra sleep.

I spent most of the day, intermitantly cleaning the garage.   I am about 1/3 done.   I need to rearrange things so that Dick can back up paralel to the seat in the new van.  Actually, since he has not been able to get into the car, things have misteriously managed to pile up there.  You know.   That rule that says an empty space needs to be filled.

The only place I went today was Mass at 4PM.   It was a nice mass, very comforting.   I was a Eucharistic Minister, distributing the host today.    That is always special to me.  I come from the days when women were only allowed on altar to clean it.    Being able to give Jesus to my fellow parishioners still blows me away.

So tomorrow we will be home all day again and it will be back to the garage for me.     Hopefully I can get it done.  With the heat, I do it in short intervals and come back it to cool down when I get tired.

So have a good Sunday yourselves.

Well.    We bought a van today.    We won't have possession of it for at least a week and a half, but it is in the works to have the conversions done.

Nik from A & J Conversions came by today with a van that had the newer model seat installed in it so that Dick could try it.   As I told you the older model chair left him with his knees up against the dash.   This is SO much better.   He has a good distance for stretching and comfort.   I also practiced putting the wheel chair on the lift and putting it in the back for transport.    It all worked well, so we were able to tell Mark at Van Horn that the purchase of the Chrysler Van is ON!   So I signed the final papers.

Now,  Nik has to order one part for the installation.   Then Van Horn will take the van to A & J for the conversion and it will be delivered to us ready to go with two different people giving us instructions as to how everything works.    We pretty well have had the chair and lift explained and a car is a car, but this van has tons of bells and whistles that Mark will have to review with me.

That is enough excitement.   I have started cleaning out and rearranging the garage.    The van fits just fine but we need to arrange things so that Dick and get himself backed up next to the seat when it comes out to pick him up.

I started that and am really tired.   I am doing it in fits and starts because of the heat.

It was a hot an humid day.

Sounds like the beginning of a novel doesn't it.

We spent most of the day in the house.   I did water the berms taking care to keep the water below the green so that it soaked in to the roots.

I left at 7:30AM to go to the Sheboygan Clinic to pick up some meds for Dick.   Then I stopped at Woodlake Market for a couple of things that I forgot on Wednesday before going around to Yoga on the Lake to meet Peggy Feider for the Thursday Morning Yoga Class.  We had a good time and I did not feel sick at all this time.   I think I am learning to breath properly - finally.

I got home at 10:30AM and spent the day taking care of Dick and getting things ready for dinner tonight.   Our friends Ron and Kate came to dine with us tonight.  It was a really lovely evening.   They are such good company.    I prepared teryaki steak, fried rice, steamed veggies, and a salad with chocolate mousse for dessert.

Dick had suggested inviting them and I was so glad.    He needs company other than me.    He and Ron have similar interests and we make a good conversation mix.

Can you believe that June is almost over.   It has been over a year since Dick had his last surgery.   WoW.

Take care of yourself in all this heat.

Too much going on these days.   I hope that things will slow down now.

I had to get up at 6AM today and that was not easy.   Dick woke me up just before 5Am because I needed to take care of him and then Roxie woke me up at 6AM because she was hungry.   Not fair!

But I did slip in another hour of rest before getting dressed.   (I suppose you are shocked but I decided not to shower today!)

Heidi, from Embrace came at 7AM.   I left shortly after to do the grocery shopping.   I was back at about 9AM and Heidi helped me "stow" things so that the floors were clear for the carpet cleaners.   I was exhausted so did lie down for about 45 minutes.  Heidi thought it was funny.   I was napping.  Dick was napping and Roxie was also sound asleep.

We had ring bologna and saurkraut for our lunch.  The carpet cleaners got here a bit before 1AM.  I had them clean the bedroom first so that Dick could lie down for a nap.   He was exhausted.   They are people that I have  known for a long time so I feel good about them being here.  The carpet is now clean and Jim even helped me move Dick around as I did not have the nice desk mats which make moving Dick on the stand lift possible for me.

We are moving ahead on the car though it is still a "oh I hope it works" adventure.

My computer came back this afternoon.  I am sure glad that I found Preferred Computing.   One of the names Richard got from his search of Plymouth.   Robin picked it up yesterday morning and he brought it back this morning all fixed.   He was full of complements for Richard and Brenda for the setup that they have done for me.   I am so glad to have it back.  I am also so grateful for the laptop which kept me treading water until I had my full capabilities back.

So we are at the end of the day.  The house is turned upside down.  But a good night's sleep will help and between me and Kay, from Embrace, tomorrow we will get our house back in order.   Roxie will be quite relieved.  I think all those machines really kind of upset her.

So the day is over and tomorrow seems a bit quieter.   We are having guests for dinner . I have the meal planned for little work and good taste.   Hope it works.   I will let you know.

I am going to Yoga again tomorrow.  This time with my friend Peg Feider.

This was quite the day.   Busier than we both like it to be.   But quite productive.

I got up at 6:30Am.   I would have liked to stay later, but it was trash day too.   So I showered and then took out the cans.  Then I took care of Dick's morning things and let him sleep for a bit more.  I took out the trash and got everything ready for our trip to Sheboygan for Dick's appointments at the Clinic.

Tim, from Custom Care and Transport, picked us up at 10:30AM and dropped us off at the Clinic for Dick's first appointment at the anti coagulation clinic.   His count was 190, still a bit low, so we are changing the dosage a little and will get it checked in two weeks again.

Then we went to see Dr. Kream about his lungs.   He also says that Dick is in pretty good shape.   We are adding a couple of things and adjusting others but he is pretty well pleased with Dick's progress.

Home again.

Nik from A& J Mobility had one of his clients  bring his van over so that Dick could try the actual seat.   Imagine my delight when the client was Norm Fenner, one of my high school classmates.   Nik was sure relieved when we gave each other a big hug and were happy to see each other.  Like he said, sharing equipment can be touchy, but Norm and I were glad to share.

The seat is too short, meaning that Dick's knees are too close to the dash.   There is a new seat available.  Nik is working on getting one of  them  for Dick to try.   We told him, we can't be Guinea Pigs.   He agreed.   Naturally, this may cost more, but if it is a permanent fix, Who cares.  As long as it fits into the budget.

Well,  The girls are here from Embrace.   So I don't have to worry about Dick until it is time to cath him.   What a nice way to end the evening.

Tomorrow is shopping AND we are having the carpets cleaned.   They are SO bad.   I have not had the downstairs done for at least two years so this year will have EVERYTHING cleaned.  It will be good to have it all done.  I have been spit and polishing for long enough.

Bless you and yours

Mondays follow much the same pattern.

I  got up at 6AM.   Got ME all ready for the day and then got Dick ready for his day.s.

Bobbie arrived at 9AM and I headed to Sheboygan Falls for Bible Study.  I picked up stamps at the post office on the way.   We were six strong at bible study this morning.  Helen Morgan was back with us today.   She had been gone for quite some time with an injury so we were so grateful that she is healed enough to come back to us.

Mom was fine today.   We had more time to visit because there were fewer bills to pay this week.   I can't tell you how blest I am to have her still with me.   I am exited about taking Sara and Nora and their husbands and little Marcus to see her.   She will be so pleased to see them all grown with families of their own.

It was a quiet afternoon.   Nobody came and we did not have to go anywhere.   We both got a little nap but I am still very tired.

So.  Since there is no news, I will close for the night and perhaps be more interesting tomorrow.

Serene Sunday and such a lovely day it was.   There was a bit of moisture on the deck this morning and we were warned there might be showers.   The showers never materialized and it was so very pleasant.

I got up a bit late and Dick got up even later.   So I was rested and had time to spend, just me, before he got up.

Talked to Bobbie this afternoon.   We are going to filter the last two batches of wine that I will be making.  Then next week we can bottle them.   Bobbie is gradually taking the wine making equipment home with her.   We love having her eat lunch with us every Monday.

I called Leslie today to be sure that nobody coming to visit us in two weeks (yea) have any dietary constraints.    None, so I can just stock up on whatever I want to.

My sister Nora called this afternoon.   We had a good talk.   She and Leif had a lovely time in China.   I was so thrilled to get birthday greetings from China.   She and I have both struggled with Joyce's Ulysses.   I am, when I get time, listening to the DVD course on Ulysses that she lent me.

Dick got his hair and beard cut this afternoon - by me.    It looks pretty good and I know that he will be much more comfortable now.

We had steak for our lunch and a "breakfast" of corned beef hash and eggs for our supper.

Tomorrow will be busy day so it is time to wind down and get ready for bed.   Kay is here to put Dick to bed so I just have to take care of his personal needs when he is all settled in.

So, until tomorrow
