Here it is Thursday already. Tomorrow I will be going to Lake Geneva for the CWI Spring Gathering and Annual meeting. I spent the day getting ready. Should be all set. I just have to load the car.

It was a much better day than they projected. It turned out to be quite warm this afternoon. Chelsea and I went out for some walks and I did not need a jacket this afternoon.

Joan came and vacuumed and did the floors today. I got things all set so that Dick should be OK while I am gone. Bobbie will be here every day to see if he needs anything. And she is taking Chelsea home with her for the weekend.

So you won't be hearing from me until Sunday night. I hope you miss me.

God love you

This was a busy day. Chelsea woke me up at midnight, again at 4:30AM and then I slept til shortly after 6AM. At least I had no trouble getting back to sleep each time. I wish I could figure out what causes her to wake up that mid time.

I was really busy today. Shopping, of course, as it is Wednesday. Then I had to go to Walgreens to pick up Dick's prescription. I got some new toothbrushes for my electric toothbrush while I was there.

Dick went down for a nap about then so I cleaned his wheelchair - been meaning to do that for a couple of weeks or so. Then I had my lunch and rested for about an hour before getting to work on preparing the last paperwork for the weekend's gathering. As I am the president, I needed agendas for the Board meeting and the Annual meeting to hand out at the registration table

Dick and I went to Sweet Basil on a "date" tonight. We had a wonderful time. Katie Cain waited on us. She is the son of two friends of mine. And what a good waitress she is. She even remembered that we like Riesling wine. We were impressed. Dick had his spaghetti and meatballs and I had scallops.

So tomorrow I need to finish packing for the trip to Lake Geneva and be sure that Dick has everything he needs convenient to him while I am gone. Bobbie will take Chelsea and come out each day around lunch time to be with him too.

I can hardly wait. I really need a break. I am going to sleep from the time I go to bed until morning and I am going to talk people with lots of my same interests and I am going to try not to worry.

God love you all

Take care

Until Tomorrow

It was a stay at home day. Chelsea got me up at 1AM and then again at 5:30AM. So at 5:30 I fed the critters and went back to bed until after 7 when I finally REALLY was ready to get up. Except for the breaks in my sleep it was a nice way to start the day.

Chelsea and I had a really nice walk in the cold crisp air this morning. She was a perky girl with he tail over her back. But she did not eat her breakfast which really worries me. I tempted her with two kinds of dog food but she would not eat. So I just left it down in case she changed her mind.

I had a nice busy morning. I cleaned out the refrigerator and freezer getting rid of things that were too old and that I decided I will never use anyway. Then we had roast pork tenderloin and gravy on bread with frozen corn and a nice tossed salad for lunch.

I took a short nap after dinner, then switched the floor mats in the car to the summer mats. That involved vacuuming the car and washing off the winter mats. So I had to go downstairs and turn on the outside water. It was time anyway and I was able to water the back gardens which will fill up the bird bath too.

After Dick woke up from his nap we got him all washed and changed so now my evening is my own. We had a cup of dump soup and a slice of garlic pizza bread for our supper.

I forgot to tell you that Fr. Mike Shea sent me some Sarnelli House t-shirts. They arrived yesterday and I am so excited. I will definitely take one to Mother. She is as easy to please as I am.

Tomorrow night Dick and I are going out on a dinner date to Sweet Basil. We like that restaurant. It is easy to get to, to get in to and they treat us REALLY well.
It is time we have a date. It has been a while with Easter and everything that has been going on.

Til tomorrow I will be praying for you.

It was a lovely day today, kind of nippy but the sun shone and the wind stayed at home so it was very pleasant. Chelsea and I went out for our walk with frost on the grass. She loves that and likes to sniff in it and roll in it.

Left for bible study at about 9AM and discovered that the low tire pressure, or as the gauge says, tyre pressure, was on again. I waited til I got home and checked. I now have it figured out. The left rear tire must have a very slow leak. So on my way to Writer's Club, I topped it off and all is fine.

Bible study was fine. There were five of us there. It was Mark's version of Jesus casting the money changers out of the temple. We had a lot to say about that. We happened to remember that the night before he threw them out, he and his disciples had gone into the temple and he checked everything out. So we figure he must have gotten really irritated overnight and decided to do something about it.

The I went over to Mom's. She seems to be feeling much better. She went to Mass yesterday for the first time since Christmas and I know that was good for her. Next week she wants to go back to the Senior Meals and have a little social life.

The Writer's Club was a nice break. We had a good turnout and celebrated Jena and Lynn's birthdays with cupcakes. I read the spring poem that I shared with you yesterday.

Home again. Now I am home until Wednesday morning. As Dick says, this seems to make all the residents of the house very happy. The four legged varieties do not like their days disrupted and they want me here. So does Dick and he does not like his life disrupted either. Poor things, I will be gone from Friday at 1PM til early Sunday evening this week.

We had the best grilled cheese sandwiches for our supper. Good old Velveeta and I slipped a slim slice of Swiss cheese in it too.

So Monday is over. Enjoy your Tuesday

God love you and pray for a couple of friends of mine who are in need.

Sunday, April 18, 2010

I love these quiet Sundays. Chelsea was a perky girl for her walk early this morning. She even led me though the park for part of her walk. She has not eaten too well, but Has eaten something so I guess that is all we can expect.

We ate good and rested good and are getting ourselves ready for another week. We had chicken and Kunert potato salad with spinach for our dinner. Our neighbor Jean brought over some angel food cake which we had for our dessert.

Then we had minestrone soup and blueberry pie for supper. As my brother in law George used to say. "Wonder what the rich people are eating tonight."

I had to laugh today. I think I told you that Jim installed a "new Felix" to my computer when he was here. It is a kitty that roams around the screen and does various things such a eat, chase butterflies and sleep. I have an earlier version which I also kept. The new one is quite a bit larger than the old one and if the sound is up, he meows once in a while. I usually keep the sound down, unless I need it and last night I forgot to turn the sound down. Dick kept hearing a cat meowing while he was up and kept looking for Roxie. Until he figured out what it was anyway. It is fun to watch them and they totally ignore one another.

Tomorrow I will be going to the Cream City Writers meeting. I will give you one of the poems I wrote to share there. It is about spring.

WORDS OF SPRING

My neighbor brought three daffodils.
She wanted to share her spring.
Thunderstorms brought rain.
It reached deep down
To the safe place below the frost line
Where worms survived winter
Driving them up to the roads.
Robins feasted and grew fat.
And lightening awakened the trees
Who sprouted green with new hope.

May your week be blessed.

God love you

Mary
