It was a good day for us.    We slept until after 8:30AM.   I have not done that in years.    It did not stop me from taking a nice nap after lunch this afternoon.    Perhaps this will catch me up.

I was really rather lazy today.   I did a couple of loads of wash, took care of Dick and made an angel food cake.

As it is Saturday, I went to Mass at 3:30PM.   It was a nice Mass.   I like Fr. Dan so far.   As I said, we are getting a different slant on the gospels than we did and it is good to see different focuses.   This was the story of Jesus sending his disciples out two by two to  spread the Word and to drive out demons and heal the sick.    I'll bet that was a surprise to them.   After all, they were fishermen and not all that educated or high in society.   Can you imagine the trust they had in this Man, Jesus, to actually to out on his word?   And it worked.

Fr. Dan said that we have the same orders, washed down a bit.   We need to be in the world, care for others and be an example that will bring people to God.

Wouldn't winning the lottery be helpful.

Oh Well.   We do what we can.

Woke up to a message from Leslie that they were home safely.   They arrived at about 10PM and had the sense not to call then as they knew we would be asleep.  Then she called this afternoon as she promised.   She is not a telephone person at all, so I was delighted that she did.

We also have two u-tube events from Marcus.   He is eating peas and rolling over.   Such a lot to do for such a little man.   He is a treasure.

I have added  the Kunert/Smith family picture in this email.    We are so cool.   Someday we will have to get EVERYBODY.

Such a busy week left me little time to blog as you probably noticed.

It was a wonderful visit.    We had not seen Sara and Nora for at least 12 years and they have grown into beautiful accomplished young women.

Everybody arrived on Sunday.   So Monday we went to Mother's in the morning for the five generation picture that I posted yesterday.   When we got home, Richard and Brenda were here to join us in a family dinner.   We had the Kunert Spinach Egg and Noodle casserole which pleased everybody.

Such a lovely day.   The next day, they spent most of the morning "touring" Sheboygan.  The girls wanted to go past all the places that they lived when they were here and the schools they attended and the lake front and all.   The girls then had lunch with their father.   Then they came back here.   So Dick and I got to visit with Bill and Leslie a bit more.   That afternoon, the whole gang went to Bobbie's house to see her home  and to see the garden.   Sara and Nora said the garden seemed just as they remembered it.   Nice when the present is as good as the memories.

Nora, Ernie and Marcus left early Wednesday morning.   The girls father picked them up and took them to the airport.   We had said our goodbys the night before but as it turned out, Dick knocked over a glass of water just about the time they were  leaving, so I got to kiss that sweet Marcus face one more time before they left.     He is a darling baby.   Alert, healthy and happy.  And cute as a bugs ear.

Dick and I had the day and it was nice to just catch up here.  I went grocery shopping early and had breakfast with Leslie, Bill, Nora and Vince before they left for the day to see things.   Like JMKAC and I am not sure what else but they had a good day.  They had lunch at the Charcoal Inn and a German Dinner at Al and Als.   The dinner was a birthday dinner for Bill.   So he did allright this year.

Our biggest excitement that day was this:.   At around 11AM,  Dick needed to go to bed for a treatment.    He just got laid down comfortably when the foot of the bed started  to go up  all by itself.   There was no reason.   We were no where near the controls.    But I grabbed the controls and when I pushed the down button, it went right down where it belonged.   As soon as I took my finger off the control, up it came right back up again.   Finally, I just unplugged it and called the VNA to get help.    I described it and told them that I thought it might be the Little People.   The lady who took the call found that amusing and so did Josh who came and fixed it for us.    Some water HAD gotten into the controller.   He dried it all out and it is working just fine.    If it starts again, they will replace it.

On Thursday, Bobbie came over with dinner and fed us all.    She and I bottled the last of my wine from downstairs with them watching.  We thought they would find wine making kind of interesting.   They did seem to enjoy it and we both sent some of our wines home with them.

Vince and Sara had to leave at about 4PM to catch their plane.   We will miss them.  They are a good couple together.   Sara is in school and getting As and tutoring for the college.    Wow.

Leslie and Bill left early this morning.   They had a 17 hour drive ahead of hem and hopefully are either home or close.   If Bill got too tired, they were going to just stop for the night.  They will call tomorrow to check in. so we know they are safe.

We are sure tired.   We are not used to all that excitement every day.   And it was nice having a baby in the house for a while.

Sara and Nora have chosen wonderful men for their husbands (Or perhaps Vince and Ernie just chose wonderful women for their wives.)   We are so happy for them and so proud of them.

So early to bed tonight and perhaps we will be caught up by morning.

Such a lovely day.    With the whole Smith Family here,  we were very busy people.

Bobbie came to stay with Dick while the Smith family, in force, went to see Mother.   She was delighted.  We have a lovely 5 generation picture of us.   She was so glad to see Sara and Nora all grown and so beautiful and to meet their husbands and to hold our little Marcus.   She holds babies with such a gentle grade.    Marcus loved her as did all the others.

So.  We have one more day with Marcus and his parents though a good chunk of the day they will be with Nora and Sara's Dad and checking out Sheboygan.

It is almost time for bed now and I will be so glad to get there.   We were up so late last night and I didn't get a nap today.

What a special day.   Leslie and Bill got her rather early this morning.  What a surprise.   Apparently they drove straight through to Mequon yesterday and came here right after breakfast.   We had a lovely day to visit today.

My air conditioner started acting up last night.   I thought I had it fixed but this evening I found that it had shot up to 79 degrees and it was set for 73.   So I called Steger and Neil came out to fix it.  We are now cooling down.   Thank God.   I cannot sleep if it is too warm.

The girls and their guys and Marcus are on their way.

So until tomorrow.   I just wanted to check in.
