Was home all day.    It was in the mid 80s or higher all afternoon.  Still 80 at 7PM.   Monday we are supposed to break 90.

Tomorrow is Bart's Birthday.   I have been asked to bring Chocolate Mousse.   One of his memory foods.  It is a good one, haven't had it myself in years.

Talked to Bret today.   He had called on Thursday but had to cut me off as Janet needed him.   Her mom was in an accident.  She is just fine, so WHEW.    He and his buddies had a nice St. Patrick's Day.  He made the Green Meatballs on Thursday and then Corned Beef and Cabbage on Friday.   That's my Boy!!!

This was a great St. Patrick's Day.  Started out rather slow and alone.  I sent e cards to everyone that I could think of and have received many responses.  Also some pictures of the Plymouth events.   I wish I could have been there.

Then Tonight, I had invited my neighbor, Jarrod over for Irish Coffee.   I made bangers and mash.  I also served cheese and crackers and Irish Soda Bread.  We listened to Irish music (Blarney to be specific) and just talked.   He is a good neighbor and is of Scot/Irish descent and proud of it so we get along really good.  He is also a hunter and occasionally gives me wild game which I greatly appreciate.  Altogether a lovely evening.

Tomorrow will be very quiet it seems, then Bart's birthday.

A red letter day!!!   The Lawton Celtic Club met this afternoon.    There were 7 of us there.  All but one of our regulars and a new person who is even interested in CWI!!!.

Patti, one of our members, gave the talk on the Irish in Oklahoma that she had planned for January and February, then ended up too sick to come.    The talk was way way worth waiting for.   Lots of history and names to research.   What a history it is, the immigrants from Ireland and England came in waves, starting in the 1700's.    The reasons varied from land, mining (work), freedom and the famine.   Wonderful talk.    I am so pleased with our members.   We are not many but we are mighty.\

I had baked a loaf of Irish Soda Bread with raisins (Spotted Dick) for the meeting and it was well received.

This MAY be my St. Patrick's day.  I am hoping to share an Irish Coffee with my neighbor Jarrod, but it will depend on if I see him.    I may just call to remind him.  I have heard of NO celebrations in or around Lawton.  Except that the Animal Shelter has free adoptions tomorrow in honor of St. Patrick's Day.   I am not ready for a cat yet - I do say yet.     One can think about getting an animal but once you have them, they are yours for life.   So.  I'll keep thinking:)

It was only 29 degrees when I got up again.    Still better than Wisconsin but making my bones very cold and my joints sore.  It did get up into the 60s and we had sun so this afternoon is much better.   We are supposed to hit the 80s again on Sunday and Monday.     Sure wish we would get this dry warm weather I was promised:)

Home all day.   Nice as I have been so busy though yesterday, as I said, was going to meetings that didn't come to fruition.  Wonder if it that an Oklahoma thing?

I baked a loaf of Irish Soda Bread for the Celtic Club meeting tomorrow.   I know that at least Robbi and I will be there.    Haven't heard that the others are NOT coming so I have hope at this point.   The last two months have been disappointing, but it IS winter and perhaps spring and summer will invigorate us.

Got a call this afternoon from my friend, Barb Litersky Sadler.    We had such a good visit but she had not so good news.   She is being treated for cancer so pray for my friend.

Well, this was a dumb day.

I had an appointment for a haircut at 1:30PM.  When I got there, Kandi was not there.   She left a message that she had tried to call, but for some reason I did not get the call.   Anyway, her grandmother's funeral was today.

So I went home.   I was busy with my usual stuff until I drove over for writer's club.  Becky was sitting in the lot.   I had heard from Darian that she was not going to be able to come but had not heard that the meeting was cancelled.   We waited  bit, then went on home.  The building was locked because it was spring break.    I think we need better communication.

Tomorrow I will be home all day as Bible Study is cancelled because so many of our members were committed to something else.

I will be baking Irish Soda Bread:)

Just got back from Quilt Guild.   Donna Klein gave the program on making labels for quilts.   She had SO many ideas both simple and somewhat more complicated.    We learned that the most important thing is to LABEL>

I also saw Dr. Toy today.   He REALLY had some adjusting to do.  Don't know how I got so out of wack but hope this will help.

Tomorrow is a haircut and Writer's Club.

A very quiet Sunday.     Daylight savings started during the night but I got to the 8:30AM mass on time.

A nice mass, we had a priest doing a sermon for a special collection - for the poor.   He was quite the preacher.   Then I went to the hall for coffee and snacks.   Not too many people there today.   But that is OK at least I got to talk to somebody.

I worked on the quilt for my bed and baked some bread today.  Otherwise just puttered around.

Tomorrow I see Dr. Toy, my chiropractor.   Have some questions for him.

Quilt Guild is in the evening.   So that will be fun.

Take care of yourselves.
