This was a great day.    Bart is feeling better and possibly will be able to come home tomorrow.  Possibly.    The Doctors are making noises to this effect but have not committed to it.

Look on Barbara's facebook, if you can and you will see a picture of him today.   He looks 150% better than he did when he got there.

Marleis and I went on that bus tour to the Lyric Theatre in Oklahoma City today.   (I thought of cancelling and going to see Bart but he ordered me to go:) )   We did have a grand time.  The meal at a steak house was marvelous and the production of Fiddler was over the top.   It was totally signed and two of the actors were deaf and signed their rolls, backed by a voice singer who was in the background, kind of part of the scenery.   I was amazed.

I am exhausted and have decided to sleep in my own bed tonight.  I feel a but guilty for Leo and Lily(Bart and Barb's dogs) but I just feel a need.

Thanks for all the prayers and loving thoughts and support that you are all sending.

An update

Bart is much better today.   I talked to him this morning and he sounded much more Bart.     Barbara and I talked then also and she said he was much calmer.   She called this evening with the day report.   He has been evaluated by every department that he needs to have checked and will probably be moved out of the Medical ICU today which is a BIG BIG step.    He is now able to eat and drink normally also and is much more in the moment.   As of this morning.  He had had nothing except ice chips by mouth since Tuesday afternoon so eating and drinking again is a BIG thing.   Keep praying.   But I am happy enough to cry again.

Bret had told me yesterday that he would call in a couple of days.    I know that he was supposed to be released today so expect to hear tomorrow.   No call means that things are going as planned.

Thanks for all the good thoughts coming our way.

Just a quick update.

I JUST got home from the hospital in Oklahoma City - Traffic from the hospital til Moore.   It took me over three hours to make the trip - totally ridiculous.

Bart is better but still not in good shape.  He has had two dialysis sessions and may need another in the morning. He was on a ventilator when we got there this morning but got that out at about noon.   He rambles still but is 100 percent better than yesterday.  Barb stayed up in the City tonight.   I am not going tomorrow unless Barb calls that she needs me.  I will take care of her critters.    Marlise did that today but has a class tomorrow.

Keep praying.

Bret is doing very well, but will not go home until tomorrow.   They wanted to keep him for one more day's observation.   He sounds good.  Janet thinks he may have over lifted and done things he shouldn't have as they are moving into a new home.   Pray for him too.

And for all of us who love  and care for them,

I HAVE to go to bed now.   Love you

I thought yesterday was rough.

The good news.   I called Bret tonight and he had just gotten back from his room from the procedure - the same basic procedure that he had 13 years ago - and the doctors say that there (again) is no damage to the heart.     Those veins of his - Tsk Tsk.    But every 13 years, it is hard to know what to do to prevent it.  Anyway, he sounded good and will call when he is safe at home.

The bad news.   I picked Bart up for his appointment with Dr. Davies.

Bart was very disoriented.   I managed to get him ready and in the car, to the office.   We managed to get him into the office.  Dr. Davies said at that point that he was sure we should get him in to the hospital.     Bart insisted that he was hungry so I drove to get him food.   When I got back, he took one bite and went into a sleep that we couldn't rouse him from.     Barb came and we took him to the emergency ward here in Lawton.    After several hours and lots of tests, they have determined that he is in renal failure because of the abrupt ceasing of the lithium.     The hours spent waiting for the tests were very hard as he was not able to communicate and was spasming which is a side effect of the lithium withdrawal also.     Shortly after 7PM he was sent by helicopter to Oklahoma City for dialysis.    Please, Please keep praying.   We were told to get a good nights rest as tomorrow he will need us more.

I can't do more tonight.

It's been a rough start to the week.   Temps still way up there though they say it never hit 100 today.  I know that it was close.

I took Bart to his doctor shortly after noon.   I took him some lunch as he has not been eating very well.   He is still having difficulty getting back in balance.  I take him to Dr. Davies again tomorrow afternoon.

Then he wanted to do some shopping, so we did.   I had taken Nicky over to Bart's when I picked him up for his appointment.  That way, Nicky had his four legged buddies to be with so he did not have to be alone.   They all like each other.

I stayed at Bart's until about 7:.   Barb got home at about 5 and we ordered pizza for supper.

While I was at Bart's house, Bret called.  He is in the hospital.    Remember, that thing he had with the veins around his heart?   It is happening again.    Will know more tomorrow.  But PLEASE Please pray for all of us.   My boys, their ladies and me who are really worried and in need of prayer.

It was 104 today on my thermometers.    Stayed in.

Except.  I went to Mass, of course, an enjoyed donuts with some of my church friends.  Then I drove to Bart and Barb's house and spend a couple of hours with them.    I will be Bart's driver this next week as he is still a bit shaky.   Keep praying.

We had an enjoyable visit anyway.

So until tomorrow.
