Well, Bart was just not up to the trip to Wichita Falls today either.
I picked up lunch and went over there to have a visit. We like to do that and Nicky went with me. Nicky adores Bart and loves rides so everybody was a winner. He was a good dog and didn't pick on Jack, the cat today.
I worked a bit on the saint book and on the quilt on the rack today. The quilt on the rack is starting to seem closer to finished which always give me a push to work harder on something. We'll see.
I'll figure out how to get a picture of it when I am done. It is for my bed.
I am sore tonight. There is rain in the forecast so I suppose that is the reason. They are predicting a possible hot humid summer here, much like last year again. I was "promised" dry heat:( Does that mean pout? I don't want it to mean angry.

The trip to Wichita Falls was postponed until tomorrow.
So I spent the day doing my wash, working on my finances and on the two quilts that I am assembling.
Kept busy just fine. It was up to 80 degrees today. This will not keep up but the low 70s do not bother me in the least and we just may get some much needed rain in the next couple of days.

A verse from a poem by Czeslaw Milosz regarding Old Age"
I would prefer to be able to say: "I am satiated.
What is given in this life, I have tasted."
But I am like someone in a window who draws aside a curtain
To look at a feast he does not comprehend.
When I draw the curtain, years from now:), I don't want to see an untasted feast!!!!!!

Today was very pleasant. It was in the 30s when I woke up but got up to the low 70s and was totall sunny with very little wind to ruin it. However, It is humid for some reason with no sign of rain and my joints, every blessed one of them ache. I used both cold and hot during the day and finally got some easing. I want to know where this dry hot weather that was supposed to really help my arthritis. (I'll probably regret that statement in a month or so:))
Went to the 9AM Mass this morning and then to Bible Study. We have a really busy study this time. It is the Eucharist by Fr. Mitch Pacwa. S.J. It is harder for us because it is a different format and requires a lot of referencing to the bible as we go along. So far, we have decided that we probably won't be able to do a whole chapter a week. That is OK because there is SO much in each chapter that one does not want to gloss over things. Lot of great references in both the Old and New Testaments.
Then home, for the rest of the day. Didn't really do much. Worked a bit on what I am sharing with Writer's Club. And did some preparation to assemble a quilt top that I have completed. I am still doing the hand quilting on the other one. This one I will have machine quilted or perhaps even try it myself. I do need to have my machine adjusted and serviced. Need to find out where to do that.
Tomorrow, Bart has to go to Wichita Falls and asked me to ride with him. A nice way to spend some time with him. And a break in the day.

A quiet but productive day. Except for seeing Dr. Toy, I was home all day. I needed the adjustment after the long drives but am coughing much less so my rib pain is much eased.
I talked to my niece, Suzi, today and we confirmed that we want to go to England/Wales on the CIE Heart of Wales and England tour starting on September 30. I am so excited. I will call tomorrow to get the reservations in.
My Suzi is quite the traveler this year. She just got back from Florida and on Monday is heading to Israel. WOW.
So nothing else exciting happened. Just worked on notifying my Lawton Celts about the meeting next week and sending an article to the CWI International for the Newsletter.
So I am still a bit tired from the driving and will go to bed to read and rest now. Nicky has already gone, I believe. He likes order in his life:)

I:M BACK!
It is not a bad drive from here to Plano. At least if there is no major contsturction. I got home in an hour less than it took me to get there, because my phone app (which for some reason has decided to work) took me a different way home than the way I went. I did not run into the severe construction - Denton is one big parking lot- that I did on the way down.
I can't tell you how much this weekend meant to me. Spending time with Nora, Leif, George, Betsy, Stenn and Bing is priceless. Then to get a boost of the Irish on tip of THAT! WOW. I think I will make it until at least April when I get to Wisconsin for the Wild Game Dinner (Family) and meeting with my friends ( Celtic Women included):)
I am a happy girl. I am so glad that Nicky does will at Bart and Barb's. He is a good by for them but does try to con Bart into special treatment. Barb says that he does not bother the cats too much unless I am there. I find that odd, but perhaps he feels that they are competition? Maybe someday he will have a kitty of his own and not be such a stinker. Jack (Bart and Barb's Cat) just lets him know who's boss anyway. P. S. The boss is JACK) He is a wonderful cat.
I got to hear my friend, Jeff Ward, who came to entertain at one of our Celtic Christmas Teas. I call myself his groupie. His wife loves that - we agree that every great musician needs a groupie. However, I understand, that my brother George said something to this effect. Oh she is his stalker. Not a stalker. Groupie is totally different.
Heard Behan and a group called Barrule who are mainly from the Isle of Mann. They even got me up to dance. They promised hugs. Then they tried to renege on the hugs:) So I called them on that and got hugs for me and all the others brave enough to go up and dance.
A great weekend. What can I do to bring the Celts to Lawton?
