I was rather busy today.

Kerry came to clean the house this morning.    Then I did some grocery shopping.

Then tonight went to Writer's Club.     There were four of us there and we had some good readings.    I am reading the revised chapters of my Patron Saints book and sometimes a poem.     We have two novels in the works.    Actually three if Mike comes.    Marti usually has a "story" based on her patients, she is a counselor.       She, of course, does not tell specific stories, but consolidations and summaries.     Very interesting.

So.    I am tired tonight and ready for bed.

The weekend was very quiet.   I went to Mass on Sunday and to coffee after mass to visit but the rest of the time was at home just puttering around.

Today, my friend, Robbi and I went to the hospital to visit a mutual friend, Pam, who is there for abdominal pain that they are trying to figure out.    Pam is a dear.   When I had my cancer surgery, she came to the hospital and visited me as a member of the parish, and she did not even KNOW me.    I have never forgotten this.

The Utility company came today to mark off where the lines are so that they can fix my sewer connection.    Please pray that it will not cost tooooooo much:)  I expect to hear from the company and get an estimate by the end of the week.    I miss my sweetheart.    He took care of all of this stuff.

We had our Lawton Celtic Group gathering at Milano's Italian Restaurant here in Lawton.    An excellent meal and service so we decided to go back there next month too.    First time for that since we lost our Irish restaurant several months ago.

I did our "program".   (we decide what we are going to talk about the next month before we leave)   I had forgotten, but I have the flags of the seven Celtic nations along with our American Flag so I brought them and showed them to everybody along with a bit of a history of each one.     There are seven , you know,    Ireland, Scotland, The Isle of Mann, Wales, Cornwall, Brittany and Galacia.
It was fun.     Everybody seemed to enjoy it.     Especially, the Isle of Mann.     Look it up:)

So a quiet weekend ahead.   Hope you have the same.

Another busy Day.   It started out rather pleasant, weather wise, but quickly deteriorated.  Tonight it is damp and windy.    But Tiva and I did get out for two short walks today anyway,    She is good for me.

I had bible study this morning.     We had a few new people as the parish bible study is starting this week and we are a part of that when Father Phil schedules it.     The rest of the year we just study whatever the concensus is.     Fr. Phil chose, Matthew the beatitudes this time and it is starting our just great.    The title is how to be happy.

This afternoon, I had my six week haircut and then got my car gassed up on the way home.

Tomorrow, I get to stay home all day.    Having a workman come to do an estimate on a plumbing problem and intend to work on an "impossible" quilt I started several years ago:)

Hope your day was special

Well, this was a day and a half.     I had a quiet morning but a lab appointment and doctor appointment at 2:15 this afternoon then Writer's Club tonight.

The doctor says all is well and that I don't have to come back for 6 months..  (This is the oncologist);   Good deal.    Then I will have my next scan and possibly get this port out.

Writer's club was great.   There were 5 of us and we all had something to share.

Til tomorrow

Home all day again.    It was COLD.   You in Wisconsin will disagree with me but 27 degrees at 10Am is Cold no matter how you look at it.     It did get up to the mid 40s and we are supposed to warm up again in the next couple of days.

I have been so tired these days that these times at home, I hope, are giving me a chance to regroup.

Got quite a bit of planning and scheduling done today.

Hope you are all well and warm

I was home all day today.    It was still in the high 60's according to my thermometer.

We are supposed to be having a cold front which might even bring a dusting or up to 2 inches of snow.

I was remembering that when Bart and I moved to Minnesota,  the first time it snowed, our Zero, dog, was totally confused and barked his head off.   Poor baby, he had never seen anything like that.

Another warm day.    They are coming to an end, at least for the weekend, which doesn't seem quite fair.

Vita and I had two nice walks today.    I need to push my self to go further but am still rather lazy about that.

Only had one short errand so spent most of the day at home.   It was nice.   I miss people but did get a lot done over the day.

Another rather warm day.   It got up to 60 degrees this afternoon.    Started off in the 30's so we do have quite a swing.    It is unseasonably warm for us though and we need rain as there is wind and fire danger.

Took miss Vita to the vet today for her final booster on one of her shots.    I found out that she had pin worms when I got her.    (I missed that somehow but they had treated her for that anyway) She is negative now so is just perfect:)

My house cleaner came today so I am all set.

You are getting two today.    Don't know HOW I managed not to post the other day, but when I went in to blogger today discovered that I had  a DRAFT.    OOPS>

Today was rather quiet.   I did go out to get my Lottery ticket and to pick up some wine so that I can stay home later in the week.

Had a plumber come over because my toilets have been flushing slowly and rising up in the bowl.   Found out after three calls on this that my main is broken so I have bigger problems.     Will take care of that in the next couple of days.    Am I ever blessed.   I CAN take care of it.

Was a lovely day.   HOpe this winter continues this way.    Hope your 2020 starts better than mine:)

I went to Mass last night instead of this morning because the parish had a pot luck dinner after the Saturday night mass.     I know enough p

Friday, January 03, 2020

It was quite pleasant today.    Got up into the lower 60s.  Though there was a good wind blowing over the plains to make it feel a bit cooler it was not bad at all.    Vita and I went out for a couple of walks.    She almost got away from me again.    Somebody opened their garage door and scared the peewadden out of her.   I was able to introduce her to my neighbor Bob today.

She was, I think, glad that Paisley and Gracie went home.   She ran around the house like a crazy dog when she got up.    Oh well.    It will happen again and they did adapt to each other so I am pleased.

Got my port flushed today.    All is well.

Hope all is well with you.

What a wonderful couple of days.    Jim and his two doggies, Paisley and Gracy, were here for the New Year Days.   Yes Days.

I actually stayed up until midnight on New Years Eve because I had someone to talk to.    Jim and I toasted 2020 with his beer and my wine.     It was great.

Last night I actually stayed up until 9PM so it pays to have people in the house to stimulate my energy.   Don't actually know how I would do with someone living with me.    Jim for these visits is very easy and we enjoy it but perhaps both of us would tire of it after a while.    Who knows.   At least he knows he always has a place to come.    I love it when he is here and his doggies LOVE my backyard and the squirrels.     He likes it because he doesn't have to stay out with them as he does at his place.

Vita and the girls got along OK.   They didn't play together but obviously liked each other so it works.

Still can't believe that is is 2020.
Love you all

Here it is New Year's Eve already.       Jim came yesterday for a few days and we are having good visits.    Watching the dogs get to know  each other is fun.     All is well,    Tiva is a bit suspicious but tolerant -   She probably doesn't know how to react as they are so much bigger than the dogs she was around before.

Jim went over to Bart's to visit this afternoon.     Some Guy time.    I always believe in that.    They are good brothers.    I am truly blessed with all my children.

I'll be going to Mass for the Holy Day tonight at 6:30.    Then Jim and I are going to TRY to stay up til midnight.     Neither of us stay up much past 9PM    (Me earlier) so this should be interesting.

Anyway

HAPPY NEW YEAR
Love you all

I was an usher at Mass this morning.     Always glad to do a service for the community and I am trying not to get too overwhelmed.    The Mass was nice.  Full of Holy Family stories.

I spent the day cleaning out STUFF and making Bran Muffin mix.    It will go well with the Green Meatballs that I will be making for New Years Day.

Any takers?

We had welcome rain last night and this morning.     We have been in near drought situations for some time.   Vita is not too happy with it but she will get used to changes as time goes on.
She is a sweet girl and has bonded with me very well.   I am truly blessed.

Spent part of the day winding up the year.    I figure anything I can get done now will be easier when Tax season and other things come up.    I am trying to go through closets and get rid of clutter.   AND its not even spring yet?

Another lovely day in Oklahoma     Wonder why I miss Wisconsin?

I got my car serviced today and spent the rest of the day getting my finances in order.

Glad I am thinking any way.

Vita is doing just fine.   She is a lover and is learning to walk.   So we will be good for each other as the weather permits.

Can't believe that it is almost 2020.    I remember when I was Young - yes I was young - that I was amazed that in the year 2000 I would be 60 years old.   which sounded ancient at the time.    This year I will be 80.   An octogenarian.

Wow

What a nice Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

Last night I joined The Adam Benoit's for their annual Christmas Eve Party and Dirty Santa Exchange.     Great meal,    I brought Figgy Hobbin for Lexie.   I got a wine bag for my Dirty Santa Gift.    Sounds right doesn't it.

Today, Marlies made rouladin and brought it over her for a dinner.    I made mashed potatoes,   Barb brought salad and dessert.     Barb's uncle Fritz was here too.    So the five of us had a wonderful meal and a nice evening of visiting.

Vita gets along well with everybody.    She is shy but does not bark or run away.

Merry Christmas to you all.

Went to Mass this morning and gave Fr. Phil a copy of my Christmas Poem.   It was a lovely mass foretelling the birth of Jesus.

Spent the rest pf the day at home.   Can't tell you quite what I did but I was busy most of the day.

When I got home from Church, Vita made the first real noises that I have ever heard from her.   Kind of shrill and loud so I am glad that she is basically a quiet little girl :)

Looks like I will be making Mashed potatoes for Christmas day after spending Christmas Eve with the Adam and Alexia Benoits.     Am I blessed, or WHAT.
