FYI --- Happy Me.    Mama Kitty came during the night and took her last baby away.    I am so relieved.   Was trying to figure out what to do to feed a baby kitty.

An extremely frustrating day.    For some reason, I decided to look in the shed in my back yard to determine how much work it will be to clean it.   I found five little kittens in the corner.    I called Animal Control and they sent someone over.    The kittens are healthy and their eyes are open but they are still just little.  The man who came said that if he took them they would euthanize them.   OUCH.   When we checked on them, all but two were gone, so MAMA is moving them because I found them.   I told him that I could not in my heart send them to certain death.   He was SO nice and said that they are still in my custody and I can do what I want.    When I checked at about 6PM, only one kitten was still in the shed.   I will check again in the morning and deal with it then.  Hopefully, MAMA will have come to get him (or her) too.  

This morning, I went over to church for safe environment training from the Archdiocese.   I have volunteered to be an usher and apparently even ushers have to completer the training and be checked out to be sure we are not criminals.  

The rest of the day was quiet.   Nicky likes that a lot.   He likes me home.

Tomorrow, Bible Study.   I may go to order the front storm door too.

We were kind of promised rain, but the weather people lied again.   It was not bad, in the low 90s.   I am glad that I watered the front yard anyway.   I have learned not to trust those people.

I had nothing scheduled today at all.  

SO - this afternoon, I went to Lowes and Home Depot to check prices of storm doors.   I want a storm door so that when it is nice I can open the door and let the breeze flow through the house.  The Sun room has lots of windows so I only need an opening in the front.   On Thursday or Friday, I will go to order it.   I want to check on a cat door between the living room and sun room also.   I want a cat and the sun room is the logical place for a litter box, but not if I have to open the door every time the cat wants to pee:)

I have established some goals today.     It is only 6 weeks until IBAM in Chicago and I need to be preparing for that.

Went to Mass this morning,   Was home the rest of the day.   I really feel good about today, I got a LOT done.   It is amazing how much retired people are responsible for:)  And then there are things we  really WANT to do.

It was hot but not unbearable. 

I Called Bret today.  He is doing very well   They were in California this weekend and are getting settled in their new home.    Next week is his birthday.  He was born on Labor Day, You know.

A wonderful Saturday.

Went to the City with Bart and Barb and Marlies as I said.

Should never go with them.   I spend money:)   Got some clothes and fabric.

Then a blessing occurred.   Scott, one of Bart's friends from FIRST GRADE, was driving through on his way from California to Missouri and met us at the Cheesecake Factory in OC.    I have not seen him since he came to Green Bay when Bart and Barb lived there.  It was SO good to spend some time with him and it was so special for Bart.   I wish you could have seen his face when Scott walked in.

The heat is back.  Actually, it is not as bad as it was earlier this month.    From what I hear, mid September begins some relief.

Bart and I did several errands this morning.   We took his doggies for their grooming.   They really needed it earlier, but you know what the last couple weeks have been.   Bart went to pick them up this evening and Barbara said they look so happy.   Of course,  Leo always gets very amorous with Lily after the grooming, so she is going to have to be on her guard:)

I picked up a Pike Pass.  Now if I go to the "City" (Oklahoma City) or into Texas, I will not have to be scrambling for money at the toll stations.  Not that I go very often, but there is no expiration date.

Tomorrow I am going to the "City" with Barb, Bart and Marleis.   Should be a nice day.  So Nate came to mow tonight and I will skip a cleaning.  Frankly, I am not all that dirty anyway.

The heat is returning.  Not to the extent that it was three weeks ago, but still hot.

I was home all day today.   Worked on quilting, CWI, and writing.   And I was busy.   The evenings get long but that is OK.  I call people if I get too lonely.  Talked to Nora tonight.

Have a good sleep.   Bart and I have errands in the morning.

A lovely day.

I went with Bart this afternoon to have his stimulator worked on.  It has not been charging properly and he has been having more pain than usual.  The  "team" they sent down was able to get him up an running again.    So a successful meeting.  We were afraid that the battery could not recharge and that he would have to have a new battery installed which involves surgery , albeit, minor surgery, but surgery none the less.

Am working on hand assembling a quilt for my bed.  It will take FOREVER.  Which is not a bad project for Now.

Talked to Richard and Brenda and then Jeff so was not so lonely tonight.

Another very pleasant day, weatherwise.   Nicky and I had the nicest walk this morning.   It was in the low 60s so felt really good.

Didn't talk to a single sole today.   I kept busy.   Did some writing and reading and sewing.   Watered part of the front lawn this morning.  The weather people keep saying we have slight chances of rain but nothing has come though since Thursday night.   That was a nice rain, anyway.

This is a very quiet week.   School is in full swing in Lawton, so Nicky and I see kids waiting for the school buses in the morning again.

Another gorgeous day in Oklahoma.   The high temperature was in the high 80s and it was not humid.  We are supposed to have some rain tomorrow night.    The grass is nice and green right now.   It was in the low 60s when Nicky and I took our morning walk.   I loved that.

I went to Mass and stopped for donuts and company afterwards in the hall.   They always have that and I have made some friends there.   I am trying to build my place here.   It is better as time goes on.

I spent the day sewing and working on my book.    I finally feel like doing somethings creative writing wise.

It was "cool" today.  The temps never got over 85.   We had quite a nice rainstorm last night so it was a bit muggy.   But I am not complaining.   Got my house cleaned and my lawn mowed today so I am a happy girl.

Talked to a couple of friends today so my life is full.

Yesterday was my most successful Celtic Gathering yet.   There were 7 of us.   Even two guys.    We discussed our goals and the books that the three from last month brought and established our next meeting time and date.   Really great people.   It should grow.  Next month we are doing music and in October are having a Samhain potluck.

Today was fairly quiet.   I saw, Dr. Toy, my chiropractor.    Really needed him too.   A month is just about right.

Bart and I ran a couple of errands and then had lunch together.   I quilted and did some computer work this afternoon.   Altogether a lovely day and the temps are in the mid 80s - a true cool spell.

Today is my anniversary.   Dick and I would celebrate 30 years.   WOW.   I am so grateful for the 26 that he was physically with me.    You all know that he has never really left me. 

Thanks again, Bobbie for the roses.  They are so beautiful.

I joined Marlies at Bart and Barb's for dinner.  They were "using up" the steak left from Sunday.   It was just as good as Sunday.  Adam, Barb's oldest, did the cooking.  He is SO good at that. 

It was a lovely evening.\

The temps were below 100 so there is no complaining here. Actually, it was 65 when Nicky and I went out for our walk.    Bart stopped by after an early morning blood test and we went to Mc Donald's for breakfast.   I was hungry for a bacon, egg and cheese biscuit.   It still tastes good.

I did some grocery shopping today too.

So there was plenty to keep me occupied.   Miss all my friends in Wisconsin.

It was so lovely today.   Temps in the 90s and a nice breeze.

It was, as I said, Barb's birthday.    The family,   Adam and his family, Tim and his family and Marlies and I all ate at Bart and Barb's.    With Adam and Lexie's Abby and Adria and their little 2 year old nephew, Jackson and Tim and Amber's Augie running around it was a home full of fun and laughter.

Adam barbecued steaks, we had deviled eggs, salad, roasted potatoes nice crusty bread and I baked a birthday cake so we were all pleasantly stuffed.

Tomorrow I am having someone over to connect up my music system.   I will be so glad to be able to listen to music and watch my videos.

Never got the promised rain, but it was cooler today.

I was home all day.   Mary came to clean and Nate mowed the lawn.   The rest of the day, I sewed and cleaned.   Tomorrow is Barbara's birthday.    The kids and their families will be there.   I am making the Birthday Cake.

I was home all day except for a quick hop to the bank.

It was nice.   Nicky really liked it.  He is my shadow and does not approve of my leaving unless he gets to come along.

It was actually cooler today, but with prospects of rain, the humidity made things rather stuffy.   No breeze doesn't help.

But I am spoiled, as I like to be, and can stay where it is cool, in my little house.

Yesterday, I was lazy and did not post.  Bart stopped by with Adria and Abby in the afternoon.   A pleasant break and so nice to have company.    Several years ago, I wrote a children's and Abby has volunteered to illustrate it for me.   Am I blessed or WHAT!

Temps are up again, but not as bad as the past week.   The rain yesterday made my yard look very happy.

I went to Mass and Bible study today.    Very nice.    We pray for everybody, of course.   So consider yourselves Blessed.   Along with special intentions.

I did some quilting and some research today.      Tomorrow I am taking the car in for service.   Don't want to have to buy a new one.

We had rain!!!   The temps were much more tolerable.   Most of the day it was in the mid 70s.

Of course ---- it started raining AFTER I had turned on the sprinklers, so I had to go out and get wet to turn them off.   But what a blessing.

I had people come over to help me and now can copy and scan from my printer and in less than two weeks will be able to listen to music and watch cds and tapes.   Yee haa.

Aside from that we are moving ahead with the sale of the condo and will close before the end of September.   Another Yee Haa.

Almost the whole day at Holy Family on the first Sunday of every month.     I find it rather confusing.    The rite consists of a LOT of chanting.   I like the music, but it is presented to us in such a confused way. 

Anyway, it is interesting to experience.

I worked on quilting and other such projects.   I did reset my hoses as I want to start watering in the mornings as long as it is so hot and we are not getting rain.
