I slept until about 8AM. Spent a quiet day just making colcannon and getting ready for the annual Samhain dinner that we Celtic Women have. We were at First Congregational Church again. They are so welcoming.
For those of you who don't know and I really think you all do by now.
Samhain is known by most
folks as Halloween, but for many modern Pagans it's considered a Sabbat
to honor the ancestors who came before us, marking the dark time of the
year.
It marks the end of the harvest season and the beginning of winter. The dead are supposed to be much closer at this time of year, a true thin place.
Anyway, we celebrate with a nice harvest dinner and sharing. We had 15 people this year. Two more than last year so we are pleased and the food was SO good.
Now I am tired and have a reason to be.
