An Artist’s Prayer

God, our Father
God, the Son
God, the Holy Spirit
Join us together today in our attempts to give you glory
Let our attempts at beauty be inspired by You.
Be with us as we raise our voices, use our hands and open our hearts.
Let our efforts be an inspiration to others in their search for You.
Let us not be ashamed to share our gifts with others.
Let us provide encouragement and help to others and know we are worthy to receive encouragement and help ourselves.
Help us see the doors you open in our search for You.
Give us courage to plunge ahead when we cannot see what lies ahead, trusting that when we jump into the unknown You will provide more road, another road or a parachute.
When we feel small and insignificant, help us know that because of You, we are valuable. If You love us, we can be nothing but special and You have assured us that You do love us.
When we feel the most misunderstood and the loneliest, keep us aware that You always understand and are always with us so we never have to be alone unless we turn our heads.
Make us aware of our gifts and continue to cultivate them. Open our eyes to help others in their quest, remembering that gifts hidden under baskets or buried in the ground are reasons for shame.
Let our light shine on the mountaintop so all can see.
Doing, not saying, is your will.
Shelter us from fear and make us worthy of You.
Help us to create for Your glory. Amen
