Yesterday, I said that Bible Study would not meet until June 12 - well DUH, I meant July 12.   Hopefully, I will be on the mend for my left knee.

Today, I went over to Southwestern Medical Center for my pre-op.   Got a chest x ray, blood tests and an EKG.   Guess all is well, as they have not cancelled.   I am scheduled for Tuesday morning and have all my instructions.   They will call me on Monday with the exact time that I am to be there.   Bart will take me and bring me home again.

I hope I am not too optimistic.   I am expecting great things from this procedure.  I told Dr. Harris that and he smiled and said he would do his best.

Today has been quite painful.   I think it is probably because we are going to get some storms tomorrow night and the air pressure is toying with me.    I have tried cold all day and just put Sombra on my joints to try to prepare me for tonight.

Bart took his granddaughters, Abbie and Adria and their Aunt Tory to Kansas City to see Def Leppard.   His favorite band.   Tory sent pictures and they all looked like they were having SUCH a good time.   He had the biggest smile on his face:)   Bart is what I would call a groupie of Def Leppard.    Remember, George, a groupie is not a stalker:)

Live you all.

Hi

Went to Bible Study this morning.    We will not be meeting until June 125h.   I am so glad as I will be getting treated and recuperating.

On the way home, I stopped at Bart and Barb's and let Leo and Lily out for a potty break as Bart was gone for that part of the day.   Like to be of help.

I have all the scheduling done for my pre op, my surgery and the followup for my knee.  Please pray for relief form pain.

Several other of my projects are coming to a head so this is helping keep me distracted.

Tomorrow, I go for the preop lab tests.

Well, Bart went with me to see Dr. Harris for the results of my MRI on my knees.

We have decided to do a scope procedure on them  - one at a time, left knee first as it is bothering me the most, I think.  Sometimes, when most of ones joints hurt, it is hard to tell which one hurts the worse:)  :)   Does that mean Tee hee?

Anyway, on Tuesday morning Dr. Harris will do the procedure.   Please pray that all goes well.    I.
actually don't feel as bad this afternoon as I did this morning.    The air is much less humid.  Hope it stays this way for a day or two.

Hi

Haven't felt much like posting when I don't have good things to say,  BUT.   On Friday, Dr. Toy, my chiropractor called me.  I gave him permission to get the results of the Thursday MRI.

It seems that I have Baker's Cysts in my knees.   Dr. Toy called me to let me know so that I can research it.   I will see Dr. Harris on Monday who Dr. Toy said will prescribe treatment that is best for me.    I am so glad for Dr. Toy's information because I have lots of questions when I see Dr. Harris.

I was supposed to usher at church this morning.   When I got there, I knew that this was a stupid idea.   Thank God, my fellow ushers saw that I was in pain and jumped in to fill in for me.   I managed to stay until I had the Eucharist, but then headed home for a rest.

We had rain this morning too.   Helped the lawns, did not help my joints:)

So PLEASE pray for me tomorrow when I see Dr. Harris and find out what can be done for the pain in my joints.     I want to be me again with some ZIP!!!

Too many things scheduled today and it was too hot.  We are in the upper 90s and heading for 100s by Saturday.

Started off this morning by going to the Imaging Center on Gore for MRIs of both of my knees.   I just kept telling these people.  "Help me".      My knees (and other joints, but especially knees) are so sore.  I see Dr. Harris early next week when he has the results of the MRIs.   Up until a year ago, walking eased the pain.  This no longer works.    So I know something is really wrong.   The last time this happened, I had a torn meniscus.  This is worse, I fear, because both knees are involved.   Pray for me please.

After that appointment, I had my carpets cleaned.    This carpet cleaner is a neighbor of Bart's and SO nice.

This afternoon, the Lawton Celtic Club met at the Center for Creative Living.  There were four of us and we had a great time discussing James Joyce and Bloomsday.

Home again, I had to take Nicky to the Vet today as he is having his dental work done tomorrow.   Poor Baby.   He looked so scared.  Funny fact -- My neighbor's across the street have their dog boarded there this week as they are 0n vacation.  Perhaps Nicky and Mustang will not feel so neglected?

It will seem odd not to have a warm puppy in the bed with me tonight:(

Today was a stellar day.

Bart picked me up this morning at about 8AM and we drove to Geronimo to pick up our girls, Adria and Abbie.   Dropped them off for their swimming practice and Bart and I did several errands.   Then picked up the girls and went to Mc Donalds for lunch.   I enjoyed Mc Donald's for lunch.  Especially the company, of course, but no matter what you say.  Mc Donalds TASTES GOOD.

We then went to the Lawton Library for a program on Extreme Animals.   We go to hear about and touch animals from the four corners of the earth.  Some endangered, some not.   Some fuzzy, some not:)   I love the little river otter.   It was wonderful.   What a spectacular opportunity for all of us.  AND FREE.

(I got to pet an albino python:))

I like hanging out with these people.

As I look at weather around the nation,  I am beginning to think that Oklahoma is not that hot after all:)    I am seeing high 80s and low 90s here but much higher in the north.  They are also experiencing tornado warnings and other bad stuff.

I got to be home ALL day today.   My cleaning lady came this morning.  I took care a getting a lot of appointments established while she was here.

Tomorrow I will spend with Bart and my great granddaughters Adria and Abbie.  That will be fun.  Busy but fun.  They are adorable girls and I enjoy spending time with them.  Abbie is illustrating my children's book:)

Thursday, I will be having MRI done on my knees.  Sure hope they find something they can do for the pain.   I have all these plans and ideas and NO energy.

The Lawton Celtic Club meets on Thursday afternoon too.  So I will have a 5 star day.

So take care of YOU.   Love you all

It has been warm, heat index some days 100 or more.

Scott left yesterday morning.    Sure glad I got to see him and that he is in our lives.  I got my hair cut yesterday too.    Every six weeks whether I need it or not.

Today I have been home all day.    Good thing.   I have been SO tired and took two naps.   Bart and Barb have invited me over for dinner and for Bart to set up a fitbit which he has decided that I need.   I am so glad.   When I am with people, I can work through the tired and the pain.

I am ready to start a new quilting project.    Got the fabric and the design is in my head.   Lots of work yet.   You won't see it until Christmas anyway.  But I am glad to be excited about something.

I need a writing project too.    Aside from trying to tie up and get a publisher for the saints book.

Oh Well   these things will come.

Hope all are well,   I understand it is hot up in Wisconsin too?

Bart's friend Scott is still here.   I am SO glad.   He has been good for Bart's healing.   He has to leave tomorrow but we have been blessed to have him her.   He and Bart have been friends since they were 7 or 8 years old.

He is doing well, but still has a lot of adjusting and healing to do.   Things are falling into place .  Time and patience are the best healers now.   Prayer too.

A busy day, Pleasant temps and a little rain while I was at Mass this morning.

I went to the 9AM Mass as Bible Study starts at 10:00 to 10:30 as we gather.   It seems to ligical to come that hour early and spend it with Jesus.

I did some grocery shopping and got the Powerball ticket on the way home.   I have been so exhausted that I ate a light lunch and then slept.

Bart called this afternoon, which did help to perk me up.   I miss my sweetheart.   We had such a good thing going.   We didn't even have to say much.  Companionship.

The rest of the day was quiet.   I always make a list of things to be done each day and got everything done   EXCEPT that my orthepedic doctor did not return my call.   I am still trying to figure out Oklahoma health care and can tell you that I wish I was still in Wisconsin for that.

Bart is home.   A day earlier than he expected.   We are glad.   This is the beginning, of course, but we have tools to work with.

Just got back from Writer's Club.   Am sore and tired, so going directly to bed without stopping at go.

Barb and I saw Bart yesterday.   He is supposed to be coming home on Wednesday and this does seem practical.   He is much better and we are all zeroing on on a plan to keep him on track.

Barb and I did a bit of fabric shopping as we got to the area way to early and needed to "waste time".  (Fabric shopping is never a waste of time.)    I found my cow fabric (Bill Smith perk up).   And won a couple of patterns as it turned out that we stumbled on a June Shop Hop.   Yee HAA

Barb and I need some perks.   Seeing Bart was the big one.  He is SO much better.   Now we will have to see how the aftercare plan goes.   I guess this is where I am supposed to be as this where I am needed most right now.

Love you all

RAIN!!!
Boy did it rain today.     I woke up to wet streets and puddles.  Poor Nicky was not too thrilled with his bathroom.

Actually he was not able to do his business until the rain died down shortly after noon.

We are supposed to have some more tonight.  I am so glad that I own a house that is not in Lawton's flood plain as there is flooding and may be more if we continue to get more rain.

I am going to church tonight for a Pentecost service and social.

Tomorrow, Barb and I are going to go to see Bart.

I know that we did not get over 80 degrees today, but it was still HOT when I took Nicky for a walk this afternoon.   Since then, we have rain, welcome rain and the temps are in the 70s.   I like that.

I picked up my corrected glasses today and left the second pair for the new lenses.  I like the idea of having two pair.   You know how I am.

Bobbie, the flowers you sent are still gorgeous.

Heard from Bart.   He sounds quite good.  Barbara and I will see him on Saturday and then I can let you know more.

Keep up the prayers.  They are working.

I can't believe that this is the last day of May.   Oklahoma is hot.   Not triple digits yet but hot.  It also has been rather dry which is good for my joints which are not doing well.

I did not realize how sore I am until some sweet lady offered to put my groceries in the car for me.    I must still be walking like the Tin Man.   I think there is some relief from the shots in the knees, but there was a delay because of the standing on concrete in the sun the day after for two hours.    It will be OK.  Tonight I am going to put Sombra on ALL the sore joints just before I crawl in bed.  Perhaps that will relax things as it is JUST after I take my pain pill.    I DO seem to be sleeping better overall.

I took my sewing machine for maintenance today.  There is one old man (TEE HEE he is younger than me) who still maintains older machines.    He says my Kenmore Elite is one of the good ones before they started sending everything to China:)  Hope so.  I do love my machine.  It was a special gift from Dick, you know.

Will be going to see Bart with Barbara on Saturday.   Things are proceeding.   Keep up the prayers and good vibes.

Summer is in Oklahoma but we are still not in to triple didget temperatures.   That will come soon enough.

I came home from Petstitting at about 9AM.  It is good to be home.   Even my home, empty as it is has my memories around me.   Barb will be home soon and I let critters out at about 4PM so they would not be frantic when Barb gets there.  Actually they will be frantic but because they are so happy to have their MOM back with them.  Critters just don't understand.

Tomorrow is busy with things that are happening at home so I will be available if needed in the family world.

My thermometer is registering at 98Degrees and I believe it.    Are we not the blessed people to have air conditioned homes?

Barb has gone to Dallas to spend time with Tim, Amber and Augie, so I have taking care of the critters.  Nicky always enjoys that.  It is an adventure for us all.

It is a holiday weekend, but nothing different for Nicky and me.

I am trying to get rested up and let the shots do their job in my knees.

Until Tomorrow

The heat is starting.  It was in the 90s today.   But we do have some relief in the next few days.

The past two days were much too complicated.    I did have cortisone injected in my knees and am hoping for great things.  So far there is some relief, but my knees still DO hurt.

Bart is having some medical issues, so please pray for him and for his Barbara as we work through them.    His system is so fragile.   I always wish I could do more.    Remember, Moms among you, when our kids were hurt or sick and we could kiss and make it better?   Doesn't work any more:(

Got my lawn mowed today.   And I watered the garden areas.   You should see how good my tomato plants and my hydrangea are doing in the front.  They get the morning sun and are flourishing.   I am so excited.  Tomato plants have always been a problem for me.  But they are GROWING and getting blossoms.  WOW.

It was lovely today.   Reasonable temperatures and the famous Oklahoma wind was quiet.

I had medical appointments throughout the day.   Not a good day for that as Bart could have used me today.

But I have to remember the council that I always give to people.  If you are not healthy yourself you cannot help others.    You may for a bit, but you will burn out and then who will help them.
I got to see an Orthopaedic specialist who gave me cortisone shots in my knees.    I should have relief in a day or so.   It was weird.  When he manipulated my left knee it made squishy sounds.

I also had blood tests at CMM Hospital which should tell me what kind of arthritis I have.  I have assumed osteo for many years, but things can change.

I hope I can get back to the point where the walks with Nicky in the morning actually make me feel better.   He tries so hard to take care of me:)

Well.  Tomorrow I am home all day and can work with the meds.    I have a lot of AT HOME stuff to do.

Strange day.   The temps were in the mid 70s but with the breeze it felt colder.

I was home all day.

Miracle of miracles,  I have an appointment on Wednesday with an orthapedic speciaialist in Lawton that I am going to just put my faith in.   Two days is better than a month for an appointment.   I don't know why this was not available sooner but I am just thanking the Lord that there is a ray of light.

Dad used to say   "I went to a doctor "x"number of years ago and there was nothing that could be done for me." Eileen said.  " Dad, are you telling me that medical science has stood still for 'x " years?"

Nowa days the problem is getting to SEE the specialists.
