Well, it was a busy day at home.     I did some writing.    Three poems.    Writer's Club was tonight and I read them all.     They liked them so I thought I would spice this up by putting one of them in this night's blog for you all.

WHAT IF

What if summer was all year long?
When would the growing begin?
What if winter was all year long?
How could the seeds die to live?
What if spring was all year long?
Would there even be seeds to grow?
What if fall was all year long?
When would life ripen and mature?

Hope you like it too.      Til tomorrow.

I kept busy today.    It was not as warm as I thought it was going to be but Vita and I took two walks anyway.    This afternoon we went down the street to my friend, Robbie's house to bring her the Lawton CWI update about our meeting on Friday.   Robbie does not have computer and I didn't see her in church on Sunday so decided to make her house Vita and my destination.

Had a bunch of calls to make too so the day went fast.   Tomorrow Kerry comes to clean and I have Writer's club in the evening.    I did write a bit this week.     Karl Elder still has me on his email list as to when the POETS AT MEAD are meeting.    Wish I could go and see those friends again.

A beautiful day today.    Temps in the upper 50s and low 60s  - sunny and no wind to speak of.

Vita and I had the nicest walk around the block this afternoon.    She is a good walker and I know will be glad when we go a bit further.     Bart and Barb gave her a Valentine:)    A name tag for her collar..  It has her name, my phone number and my name on one side and then the other side says "Who rescued who."     I love it.     She is not chipped so I am glad she has that information on her now.

Can't believe that February is over half done.

We are on a warming trend until Monday or Tuesday when temps will plummet again.

SO  Vita and I are taking walks to celebrate.    She is so funny because she is still very shy and wary of people walking on the street or if an obviously BIG dog barks.    Then she tries to run for home.

I was home all day.   The first time all week and just relaxed.   Next week will be rather busy but I am glad as one of the events is my Celtic Group and we all DO enjoy our get togethers

Boy, did I get lazy on blogging this week.     It was a busy week.    Quilt Guild on Monday,   Writer's Club on Tuesday,   Bible study and Mass on  Wednesday..

Thursday was pretty quiet but I seemed to be busy all day.    Today, I got my port flushed.   Hope I will be able to have the port removed in the Fall.    If my next CTSCAN shows that I am clear of cancer perhaps I can.

Today was beautiful.   It was only 48 degrees but there was little wind, so Vita and I took a nice long walk around the block this afternoon.     She sure likes that.    I always say, I have a dog to walk me and am glad that the weather is turning and I am feeling better so Vita can do that.

Happy Valentine's Day

A cold and rainy day.  I saw Dr. Toy, my chiropractor today and he adjusted my aching back.

Quilt guild was tonight .    A nice meeting with instruction on English paper piecing which I will never do but was interesting.    Dee, one of our members, has had her daughter, who does t shirts design one for our Quilt show next year.       So I ordered one of those,   You know me.   Jeans and Tshirts and we will be easily found at our quilt show.

Supposed to get warmer by the weekend

A lovely Sunday.    A bit cloudy but warm.

Went to Mass this morning.   And to coffee afterwards.    Then spent the day replanting my Aerogarden.

This evening went to the Seafood Party restaurant to help my great granddaughter Adria celebrate her 15th birthday.    Can't believe she is 15.    She is a lovely girl, as is her sister, and growing up much too fast.   It is always fun for me to spend time with family for these events.

A pleasant day.   I was able to be home for most of it.   I did make a quick trip to Walmart for some potting soil as I am redoing my AeroGarden and want to try to save my herbs that have done so well in it.  May sunroom seems to be the perfect climate, atmosphere, whatever for most plants.    I probably will get tired of them:)

My Vita was sick this morning but seems to have recovered.   I don't know that it is about dogs.    THey seem to do this sometimes.

Got a lot done today - the aerogarden for one.    So feel that I am not a slug anymore:)

Snow   Snow   Snow

We had between 4 and 6 inches here in Lawton.    Everything was closed,    except the mail.    We had sand and salt strewn on the main roads but not on everything.      Sure glad I could stay home.

Vita was horrified when I opened the door this morning.    She stepped in to the snow then came right back in.   It was almost 10AM before I got her to go to the bathroom.     Good girl, she holds it.    I finally TOOK her out.   My front walk has no snow on it and the driveway was clearing so she was able to gutz it out eventually.   This was unusual.    The past couple of years we have had such mild winters.   Oh well, one storm does not make a bad winter.

So a quiet day.

It was a cloudy windy day to day never getting over 35 degrees.    What makes it worse is that we are supposed to get (I know my Wisconsin friends are laughing) we are supposed to get 4 to 6 inches of snow tonight and through Wednesday afternoon.

I know you are all laughing but we are ill prepared for this, unlike you guys,   (me included)    Everything is closed down tomorrow,   school, Ft, Sill and the government.    So my bible study is cancelled.    Shucks.   That is such a welcome break in my week.     Well, it will be dangerous out there so we all SHOULD be safe.

We had a cloudy day but the temperatures were quite nice.    However, a possible snow storm, the biggest of the season, is supposed to hit us late Tuesday and in to Wednesday.    Just when we were beginning to think we might escape that this year.

I went and renewed my car  and driver's licenses today.    I no longer have to pay for my driver's license.   These small benefits are helpful.

I also did my grocery shopping and got my lottery ticket.    Can't miss that you know.  These ARE the lucky numbers that Dick picked out:)

Bart stopped by for a bit this morning.     Always glad to have him stop by.    We just visit.    He liked miss Vita a lot.

Tomorrow, doctor visit and Writer's Club.

Another Wonderful day.    Vita and I took two walks today.    This afternoon we walked clear around the block in 72 degrees.    BUT we are expecting snow on Wednesday, I think.

Puxatwany Phil predicted that we would have an early spring.   but that groundhog is only right 40% of the time.    Don't know why we put so much faith in what he says.

Vita discovered that there are squirrels in the backyard and looks for them now and even tries to climb the trees to get them.    Brave little girl.

I went to the 8:30AM mass this morning and for the coffee afterwards.

I mixed together a small meatloaf for my supper tonight.    Meatloaf just sound good.

Happy Imbolc.   This is the second season of the eight Celtic seasons.  Tucked between the Winter Solstice and the Spring Equinox,  it is a big part of the Bridget story as today is her feast day.

We had a lovely day today.   I walked Miss Vita this afternoon at 62 degrees.    A big jump from this morning at 36 degrees.

Sorry I haven't written the past couple of days.    Just got busy.    Today I had a conference call with my Celtic International Board.    What a pleasure.    These are friends from Wisconsin and Chicago and I don't see them now.      Good to hear so many of their voices.

Spent some time today rotating some of my herbs that I grow in the house.    Want to be ready for spring.    I know I have lots of time yet but want them to get happy in their new pots.

It was cold today.    41 degrees was the highest I saw.    I know my Wisconsin friends and relatives are laughing at me.     But I WAS Cold.     I still took Miss Vita for twn short walks.    With her pretty blond fur, it has to be colder to bother her.    She does not like rain or a cold wind.

Went to Mass this morning and then to Bible Study;    As usual we had an exciting mind opening conversation.     Lots of questions, lots of answers.    We are studying the Gospel of Matthew  in case I hadn't told you that.     Starting with the Beatitudes.

Then I went home and rested until I had my eye doctor appointment.   I told you I lost my glasses, I think, and have been using the previous prescription which helps but is far less than I need.    The house ate them you know.   The house has eaten other things but this is the most serious.    I should have my new ones on about a week.

So home until tomorrow evening.    Yea.    I told Vita and she wonders why I have to leave tomorrow evening:)

Well, it rained all morning and into the afternoon.    Poor Vita was not a happy girl.   I made her go out twice, once one the leash when the rain was down to a drizzle.      Finally it stopped but I had to drag her out the door to prove it too her.      At least she got to do her business.

I just got home from Writer's Club.     Read a poem and the St. Andrew chapter of my patron saint book.    The others seemed to like them both.      What we all have to do is see about getting published.    The others are doing so well it would be a shame for the world not to read them.

Tomorrow Bible study and eye doctor.     Vita will be very unhappy with me being gone twice.

Went to the 8:30AM mass again this morning.    I sure like that.   When you go to the same mass, you get to know people especially if you go for coffee and donuts afterwards:)

It was in the mid 60s again today.  Vita and I went out three times for a little walk.   Eventually we will go around the block and up to the park, but usually I am not ready for that.   We did it once though  (not as far as the park) and Vita loved it.

Aside from that I really didn't do anything at all exciting.    But I am content in my little home.
Tomorrow I seed Dr. Toy, my chiropractor.   My right shoulder is a bit sore.      This is new.   I hope he can figure it out.

A gorgeous sunny day topping off at 62 degrees which is quite comfortable.    Vita and I took two walks today.     She and I like that.

I did some shopping this morning for a list of things that I needed as I hate to shop and waited until there WAS a list.     Found everything.

Bart and Barb stopped by this afternoon,   My Chinese New Year card from Bing was sent to their address.   I will let Stenn and Bing know my address.    Guess I missed that last year.    Love being remembered and loved.

I DID get to stay home all day today.     Was sure nice and Miss Vita always liked it.

I am starting to have tax stuff dribble in and have gone through my receipts for 2019 to get rid of the stuff I don't need.

It was not TOO cold, so Vita and I went for a couple of short walks.    She much prefers doing her business while we are walking, much as Nicky did.    I think it gets her inner self moving:)

Did a bit of editing on my book and a real little bit of sewing.     Want to try to do a poem before I sleep.

Got a nice newsy letter from my cousin,  Fr. Mike Shea, who is a missionary in Thailand that has established an orphanage/home for children with AIDS or who come from parents with AIDS.    Love his letters.    He is a unique individual and I am proud to be related.

Kerry came to clean the house this morning.    Then I did some grocery shopping.

Then tonight went to Writer's Club.     There were four of us there and we had some good readings.    I am reading the revised chapters of my Patron Saints book and sometimes a poem.     We have two novels in the works.    Actually three if Mike comes.    Marti usually has a "story" based on her patients, she is a counselor.       She, of course, does not tell specific stories, but consolidations and summaries.     Very interesting.

So.    I am tired tonight and ready for bed.

The weekend was very quiet.   I went to Mass on Sunday and to coffee after mass to visit but the rest of the time was at home just puttering around.

Today, my friend, Robbi and I went to the hospital to visit a mutual friend, Pam, who is there for abdominal pain that they are trying to figure out.    Pam is a dear.   When I had my cancer surgery, she came to the hospital and visited me as a member of the parish, and she did not even KNOW me.    I have never forgotten this.

The Utility company came today to mark off where the lines are so that they can fix my sewer connection.    Please pray that it will not cost tooooooo much:)  I expect to hear from the company and get an estimate by the end of the week.    I miss my sweetheart.    He took care of all of this stuff.

We had our Lawton Celtic Group gathering at Milano's Italian Restaurant here in Lawton.    An excellent meal and service so we decided to go back there next month too.    First time for that since we lost our Irish restaurant several months ago.

I did our "program".   (we decide what we are going to talk about the next month before we leave)   I had forgotten, but I have the flags of the seven Celtic nations along with our American Flag so I brought them and showed them to everybody along with a bit of a history of each one.     There are seven , you know,    Ireland, Scotland, The Isle of Mann, Wales, Cornwall, Brittany and Galacia.
It was fun.     Everybody seemed to enjoy it.     Especially, the Isle of Mann.     Look it up:)

So a quiet weekend ahead.   Hope you have the same.

Another busy Day.   It started out rather pleasant, weather wise, but quickly deteriorated.  Tonight it is damp and windy.    But Tiva and I did get out for two short walks today anyway,    She is good for me.

I had bible study this morning.     We had a few new people as the parish bible study is starting this week and we are a part of that when Father Phil schedules it.     The rest of the year we just study whatever the concensus is.     Fr. Phil chose, Matthew the beatitudes this time and it is starting our just great.    The title is how to be happy.

This afternoon, I had my six week haircut and then got my car gassed up on the way home.

Tomorrow, I get to stay home all day.    Having a workman come to do an estimate on a plumbing problem and intend to work on an "impossible" quilt I started several years ago:)

What a wonderful couple of days.    Jim and his two doggies, Paisley and Gracy, were here for the New Year Days.   Yes Days.

I actually stayed up until midnight on New Years Eve because I had someone to talk to.    Jim and I toasted 2020 with his beer and my wine.     It was great.

Last night I actually stayed up until 9PM so it pays to have people in the house to stimulate my energy.   Don't actually know how I would do with someone living with me.    Jim for these visits is very easy and we enjoy it but perhaps both of us would tire of it after a while.    Who knows.   At least he knows he always has a place to come.    I love it when he is here and his doggies LOVE my backyard and the squirrels.     He likes it because he doesn't have to stay out with them as he does at his place.

Vita and the girls got along OK.   They didn't play together but obviously liked each other so it works.

Still can't believe that is is 2020.

Jim went over to Bart's to visit this afternoon.     Some Guy time.    I always believe in that.    They are good brothers.    I am truly blessed with all my children.

I'll be going to Mass for the Holy Day tonight at 6:30.    Then Jim and I are going to TRY to stay up til midnight.     Neither of us stay up much past 9PM    (Me earlier) so this should be interesting.

It started out REALLY cold, in the low 20's this morning but has risen nicely to the upper 50's.    Quite pleasant and they say seasonable.

Little Miss Vita is getting exposed to the leash by going to the mailbox every day with me and is doing just fine.    She didn't seem afraid at all and only looks a bit surprised when I steer her the way I want to go.   We are doing just fine.    So far the only noise that little girl has made is to snore occasionally when she sleeps:)

The only out of the house need I had was grocery shopping.   Tomorrow nowhere and then on Friday I will be going to my Celtic meeting.     Looking forward to that.

I have a doggy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now if I can convince her that everything is OK we will be fine.   Actually she is being very good but seems reluctant to move around the house and, of course, is not too sure what she should consider me to be.     I want her to "love me more than life itself" but that will take more than a day:)

She is a sweet  thing, a bit shy.    Her foster mother had her for three years and called her Vita which will remain her name, of course.  The only thing that DOES bother me is that the foster mother was unable to afford boosters for shots etc in January so poor little Vita is a year behind.    I have an appointment with Dr. Fiorello on Monday.   They can update her, do whatever else needs to be done and give her a good grooming.    That way I won't be the bad guy giving a bath.

I am all ready for Christmas except for some Christmas Cards.   And now I have my Christmas furry friend.

Bart went with me and we also went to the Lawton Animal Shelter.   THey did not have any either and I embarrassed myself by tripping on their drainage system and falling.   Had to fill out an accident report and everything.    I am really OK.    I think I learned from my mother how to fall:)

Spent the rest of the day working on Christmas.   I should finish the out of state stuff by Monday morning.   Yea!!!!

Everybody can relax.    I spent the day making the Peanut Butter Buckeyes.   Whew  I was told years ago that if we don't have Buckeyes, why do we have Christmas.

I was home all day.    Sure is lonely without Critters.    Tomorrow I am going to Pet Smart with Bart to check out the animals that the Humane Society is bringing to highlight.    Hope I am lucky.   I will get one through a shelter as Dick always said - If you get an animal, save a life.

I am ready, he or she will save my life or at least make it better.

A busy day.

The plumber came out today to check my plumbing which has been ac ting up again.    There are a couple of things I can to to help the problem which I will put in place immediately.    Part of the problem is that I back up to an apartment complex.    But this should still not be happening.   I have found things myself which do help.

This afternoon I took my car to the dealer for diagnosis because my engine light was on.    I do have a policy to cover some maintenance and it will help.  They should have the parts needed by Monday.   I CAN drive the car as long as I keep checking the temperature.    Fortunately, I do not drive far and the car, in this cooler weather does not heat up too much.

I will stay home even more because of this and work on making candy and preparing packages for mailing for Christmas and of course,  writing out my Christmas Cards.

Glad I have things to do.   I miss my critters so.   Tomorrow the Humane Society is having critters at the Pet Smart across the street and I will go to get the feel of things.   Maybe I'll get lucky.

Was a busy day.

Bible Study at 10AM.     Haircut at 1PM followed by a stop at the car dealer because my engine light is on.    They will diagnose tomorrow afternoon.    On the way home the skid light came on too so I am inclined to think it is electrical.

On the way home I filled up my tank.

Then I finished the afternoon by making a batch of fudge.   Just have Buckeyes and Hello Dollies to make before I pack up Christmas Boxes.     I should be done by mid next week.

Hope all is well

I was home all day today until this evening when I went to church for the Advent Penance service.   We have a service and follow it with confession.    I like that because it gets you ready for the sacrament.

I worked on some sewing projects and sorted and clustered all my baking things as I will start making candy this weekend.   I finally have everything I need.

Tomorrow is Bible Study and I get a haircut in the afternoon.

Saw some footage of Wisconsin.   Lots of snow.

A quiet day.   I finished shopping for the ingredients for the candy that I make for the family.    Will start that soon as it keeps and I have to get it there before Christmasn.
The weather was pleasant.    Not very warm but tolerable.    Little wind which helped and sunny.

Talked to Barbara, Bart and Marti so I have had conversations with the world and don't feel so along.   Sure miss my critters.    I will be going to the Humane Society this week sometime when they are open.    They were not open today.

Miss all of you

an't believe it is December already.     I am not nearly ready to DO Christmas and it is a short four weeks away.

Jim went home today shortly after noon.    We had a good few days.   Company for me and a bit of a vacation for him.      He is such a good man.    Another blessing that Dick gave to me.    I enjoyed having his doggies here too.     I miss my Nicky and now don't even have my Fluffy cat to attend to of an evening.      Poor things and poor me.   SO  I am going to look for a new furry friend this week.
My Christmas present to myself.

Should be a comparatively quiet week coming up so I should be able to make a dent in Christmas.

Sorry I haven't written for a couple of days but Thanksgiving was busy and fun.    I hope yours was the same.     We have a lot to be thankful for besides the wonderful meal that was set before us.    All the friends and family loving each other is a joy to see.   I did tell you that my Jim is here for a few days with his two doggies.   We are enjoying the visit SO much.

Yesterday, was a sad day.    My neighbor, Bryce, from across the street came over to tell me that there was a dead cat in their yard that looked like my Fluffy.    And it was my Fluffy.    She apparently got hit by a car, my sweet girl that was so street wise, I thought.   Jim helped me bag up her sweet body and dispose of it.      I am so upset.    Now I have no living thing to care for.      I will be looking for another dogie soon but am so glad that Jim and his Paisley and Gracie are here right now.   The house will be so empty.

I don't want to write any more tonight.   I am getting too sad.

What a nice day.    We were supposed to get rain this afternoon, but that has been delayed.

I made a pumpkin pie and Figgy Hobbin for the Thanksgiving feast tomorrow at the Benoit's home.

Jim got here at about 3PM and we have been enjoying a family time together.  Sure glad that he could come.    His doggies are fun too.   A bit big for my taste:)   notice the :), but they are sweet as can be and they love me.    I can tell.

Tomorrow Thanlsgiving.    And I have so much to be thankful for.

God love you all

Hi Everyone.   I took a couple of days off from the blog.    Nothing exciting is really happening and I have managed somehow to catch a cold.

So I am holed up in my little cave of a house trying to take care of myself and to stay away from others so I don't pass this on.   The weather has been dry and in the upper 60s during the day.     I  will be happy to have a doggy to walk me again.       After Thanksgiving.

I made the pie crust today and tomorrow will bake the pumpkin pie and the Figgy Hobbin for the dinner at Adam and Alexia's house.

Been doing some sewing too.

It got up to 67 degrees today.   Felt a bit cooler with the wind, but a welcome day.

I made the cranberry relish this afternoon,   That way it can mature and not be sugary on Thanksgiving.    I am glad Alexia asked for it because I might have forgotten or just decided it was a ME thing.

Went to Bart and Barb's this afternoon to visit with Marlies who is staying with them for a couple of days.     She had knee replacement last Thursday and needs someone with her.    Her son, Fred, is coming tomorrow or Monday and will take over for Barbara.   Marlies said that the doctor said she could go home on Wednesday.

She looks good but experiences pain a lot.     Time and therapy will help.

Am home again and settling down for the evening.    Talked to Jim.   He is PLANNING to come for Thanksgiving.     Good.   I love all my kids and miss those who are not here.

It was cold again today.      I did go out once.    Had to have my port flushed.   Next time will be next year, would you believe.

I also stopped at Hallmark and cashed in a bunch of coupons and credits on Cards and stuff.

I spent the rest of the day at home working on projects.   I finished my first crocheting project in probably 35 years today.    A lap robe.    I can see errors but it is warm and will be nice for someone.   Now I am starting to feel comfortable with the stitches again.

A quiet weekend for me ahead.

Marlies had a successful knee surgery.    I hope they will ask for help if they need it.    I will offer again.     Perhaps a meal.   or transportation  or "Marlies Sitting"
.

The weather woman said that it was an icky day today.    Didn't bother me.    I went grocery shopping between showers and was home in my warm little house the rest of the time.   Being retired does have its advantages.

Spent the rest of the day working on various projects and fine tuning planning for the holidays.    I am making Figgy Hobbin, Pumpkin pie and Cranberry Relish for the Thanksgiving dinner.    Glad people like my cooking.   I will make the relish this weekend as it needs time to mature.

The next few days are pretty quiet.   I get my port flushed tomorrow and will stop at Hallmark to use up some coupons for Christmas.

A mixed weather day.   Not too warm, not to cold.   Sprinkles in the morning a light rain in the afternoon.    We need the rain so badly.   I hope we get more.

Went to Mass this morning before Bible Study.   Bible Study was lively.    We had lots of things to talk about then read II Corinthians,   our last study which always chooses certain sections, from the beginning to the end.      We figured that was a good way to wind up that particular study.

We will not meet next week because it is the day before Thanksgiving.

Bart came to visit this afternoon.   I always like that.     Someone in the house and someone special.

I have a couple of sewing projects almost done.    Should finish them by Sunday.

It was a beautiful November day,   well up into the 70s and sunny.     I was supposed to be home all day until Writer's Club but got a call from my dentist.    My Thursday appointment was cancelled but they could see me this afternoon.    So I went and now have the cleanest teeth in town:)

I did a lot of work on some of the projects that I have started too.   I should finish two of the five by the end of the week.

Writer's Club was fun.   Four of us were there and I heard chapters from three books and they listened to four poems that I had prepared.    I am finally starting to get some inspiration now and am feeling much better about things.    Now if my Nicky was still here.

I have decided that after Thanksgiving, I will begin a search for another doggy.     Somebody must need me out there.

It was quite a pleasant day today.   Sunny a bit, not too windy and the temperatures were comfortable, in the mid 60s.

I went to the 8:30AM Mass.   Always good and then I had coffee and === after  Mass so that I could visit a bit with people.

Home again, I took a nap.   I was still tired from yesterday and really had trouble sleeping last night.  I have been working on several projects, bills and communications this afternoon.

Talked to Bart but that is the only voice I heard this afternoon.   I am so glad we have decided to touch base EVERY day.     He is a great guy,

I went to a quilting class that I had signed up for a couple of months ago with Barbara.    It was on paper piecing a poinsettia table runner.     It was really hard and started at 9::30AM and ended at 4:30PM.    I am totally exhausted.

Glad I had something to do and hope that I learned enough to finish the thing at some point.  I enjoyed the company of all the other ladies.

Tomorrow will be quiet.    I will go to an early mass and then spend the rest of the day at my own speed.

Hope you are all well.

'
I kept myself busy with things around the house and that I need to do this weekend and then went to the Red Lobster for a meeting with my Celtic Friends.    There were 10 of us there.   One was a new person so I feel very good about the event.    We discussed the 7 Celtic Nations  - who they are - how they developed.    People seemed to like it.    I am so glad,    It is a fun social event.

I got flowers today from Richard and Brenda for my loss of my Nicky.   They gave him his firs toy which we called Squealers and is still here.

Tomorrow I am going to a quilting class.   Must keep busy.

I have been trying to keep myself busy but I am afraid that I was forgetting to Blog.    Perhaps I didn't want to depress everybody.

Yesterday, I went to Bible study and to lunch with some friends.   So I am getting on with things.   I would say getting back but without my Nicky, I need to establish new and or different patterns.    This I will do.    Eventually , in about a week or two, I will start looking for a companion dog again.   It is hard but as I say, I like having a dog around.     I don't ask much.    They have to be housebroken, they have to like children and they have to be willing to love me more  than life itself:)

Today, I did some grocery shopping and baked some cranberry bread for a couple of meetings that are coming up that we are asked to bring treats to.

The weather is a BIT warmer but it is still too cold for November.    We probably have a long cold winter ahead.

Hope you all are well and healthy and keeping warm.   Cold seems to be everywhere.

This is a very sad and lonely day for me.     I had to take my Nicky to the vet to be put to sleep.   I tried to get him to eat from the time I got him home from the vet last week but was only able to syringe feed him.    He was beginning to look at me with hurt eyes because all I did was shove things down his throat and he was so very tired and weak.     I don't really think he was in pain or I would have gone sooner.

As I always do with my beloved animals, I held him in my arms and cuddled him until he was gone, then stayed with him for a little bit.    I will miss him SO much.   I have pretty much stopped crying but this blog is making me weepy again.   It's OK though I still miss my other past animals, why would I not weep for Nicky?

It was warm today and the next two or three days are going to be FREEZING.    The only thing I have tomorrow is a quilt guild meeting in the evening.

Just got home from the best  dinner at Bart And Barb's   Marlies was there too.      I took Nicky along.    He is still not eating except for what I syringe into his tummy twice a day.    He did eat a couple of pieces of Barb's goulash which is more than he will do for me.

I am afraid that there is really nothing more I can do for my little guy.    I cannot keep syringing food into him and watching him fade away like he is.     Will talk to Dr. Fiorillo tomorrow but I have to do what is best for my Nicky.    Heart trouble and diabetes are just too much for his littleness.

Pray for me.    I am so tired.

What a day.

The morning was quiet so I got a LOT done around here before my appointment with Miracle Ear at 11:30AM when I got my hearing aid.    Yes.   I have a hearing aid.   Fortunately it is just in one ear, the right one.   My left ear seems to be holding up quite well.    Perhaps will until I die.

Then I spent the afternoon WAITING.    I had called Meadow View and they said I could get Nicky but not until 5PM.   Needless to say, I was there a little early.     He is much better and his sugars are settled down.      He still is not eating, but Dr. Fiorillo sent me home with syringes if this continues.   Just keep tempting him until he is stronger.      He also sent some anti nausea pills for him.  If he does throw up I have to call right away.

He has already checked out his back yard and is settled at my feet under the desk.    We will be happy sleepers tonight.

We were supposed to have rain today, but the weather people keep putting it off.   Now they are saying late tonight or early tomorrow.    The temperatures are at least reasonable, neither too hot nor too cold.

I saw Dr. Toy today.    I was really out of sync.    He put me back together:) and will see me next week.    That tells you.    I have been seeing him once a month just to be sure everything is OK.

Then I went right to Bible Study.    Got there as a funeral mass was in process, so I slipped in the back to pray for the deceased.   Mother always went to funeral masses for parish members when they moved across from the church.    She said that someone should be there, just from the parish.    I felt that way today and was able to receive communion for her passing.

Nicky is still at the Vet.   He is still not eating but feels a bit better.   He is more alert.    I will call again in the morning to see if they got his appetite revived.

I just keep praying for all my "wounded" loves.

I had a doctor appointment to day with my GP and got my flu shot.   I am in pretty good shape otherwise.

The rest of the day was quiet.   Did a bit of crocheting and caught up on my finances.

I kept myself busy today working on three projects that I want to have completed by the middle of November.

Nicky is such a picky eater.    I keep trying to tempt him with good stuff.    Tonight I scrambled an egg in some hamburger.      I even tasted it myself before giving it to him.  He dove into it right away but only ate about a third of it.     I hate throwing all that food away!!!

It was a rainy cold day today.    The temps were in the forties    With the wind factor it was in the thirties.     Nicky is not thrilled.    I tried to take him for a walk this afternoon and he told me in his quiet way (heading back to the house) that he was just fine in the house thank you.

We are still expecting rain tomorrow.    We really need the rain but I am glad that I do not have to go anywhere until Sunday when I will go to Mass in the morning.   I have plenty to keep me occupied  (or lazy) for the two days.

I now have my house in good shape, my car in good shape (it is seven years old you know.   Only 30,299 miles on it)    I figure if I take care it will last for quite some time.)   I am starting to feel better but am still fatigued.     I plan on pushing myself a bit and seeing if that will help.

A peaceful Sunday, mostly.    Nicky woke up sick and didn't want to eat.   I practically shoved food down his little throat so that I could give his insulin.     He went to sleep then and when I got back from Mass he was a perky little guy.     So I guess I did it right.     Diabetes is hard to get used to.

I rested a lot, but did get several projects worked on.    I cut the fabric for the President's Challenge at the Quilt Guild and finished what I can do on the garage cleanup.

I am not touching the Christmas stuff yet.   Wait til closer to Christmas to see what I want to use.   The trouble is that all or most of my Christmas decorations are memories.    I do have my little decorated tree which will for sure go up again.    I also hope to be able to put up all my Nativity Scenes.  Some .are really unique.

Then I went home to wait for Kerry, my house cleaner.    She didn't come so I called her.   As it turned out, she had surgery and forgot to call me.    She has arranged for my old house cleaner to come on Thursday.

Pray for my Bart again,  He has a blood clot in his right arm.    Had to go to ER but he is home and on blood thinners.    Will see his family doctor tomorrow.

Tonight was Writer's Club.    There were just three of us there.    We all read and I am glad for that untroubled hour and a half with no troubles:)

I got to stay home all day today.   Boy was Nicky glad.    We went for two walks, which he loves.     I got all my odd problems caught up on so feel free to start anew.

Have a wonderful rest of the week.

Except for Mass this morning, I was home all day.   Nicky really likes that.

I did some sewing and crocheting and resting.    A perfect Sunday.

It was a quiet yet busy day for me.      I had to go out to finish my Hallmark Ornament buying today and get a few birthday cards.     Then I stopped and got some food for Nicky that I think he may like.

I guess I was right.  He ate like a little pig tonight.    Got to get some weight on that boy.

I have been working on cleaning closets and drawers out a little at a time.    Boy, do we accumulate STUFF.    At least I am not under any pressure, except my own:)

Tomorrow is another quiet day.   Mass in the morning, then home the rest of the day.

As it turns out, my toilet is still leaking, just in a different way.    So Shields is out here again.   He says the tank is leaking.   Sure hope this will be the end of it.  I need to get my carpet try and am tired of washing towels that I use to sop up the water:)

The only trip I made out of the house was to do some grocery shopping.    Didn't need much, but then there is only me and Nicky.       Got him some different food.   He IS eating much better and I hope he'll put on some weight.    We are both trying.

I met my new cancer doctor today.   I will miss Dr. Aye but Dr. Curry seems very nice and effiecient.

Tomorrow I get my CTScan.   Hope all is well.   I is always scary, even if I know I feel pretty well.

I am almost caught up from the vacation and the trip to Louisiana.    I plan on staying home until at least March, which will be Irishfest in Dallas.;;

Nicky is eating like there is no tomorrow.   I am so happy.   Perhaps we will get some meat on his ribs.

I was so busy yesterday that I forgot to post last night.     I am mainly caught up except for the things that have to wait til Monday.

This morning I went to the 8:30AM mass and got several hugs as Leslie was on the prayer chain.    We have a lovely parish family at Holy Family.

Spent the day doing more catching up and NAPPING.  I went over to Bart and Barb's this evening for just a while to see my Bart who, you know, had surgery on his shoulder on Thursday.    He is doing well and says that the only discomfort is surgery discomfort so he really is hopeful that the damage is finally corrected.

I have a busy three days ahead of me with doctor appointments.     Will be glad when Thursday comes and I can stay home all day.      Nicky will be glad too.
