There was a high of 104Degrees today but it has dropped to 80 degrees because of a storm front.    We are just getting a drizzle but at least it broke the heat.

We are supposed to have somewhat cooler days (Mid 90s) for a bit.   Never thought that would be a cool spell:)

Nicky was a bit lethargic today but ate will and did all he was supposed to do.   Poor little guy.   He hates all the stuff I have to do to him.   (So do I)

Keep up the prayers for Leslie.   Yea.   She will be released from the hospital in the next 24 hours.

It was a nice Wednesday.    Still too hot.   104 Degrees.

But I went to Mass at 9:AM to thank God that Leslie is showing SOME improvement and then on to Bible Study for a lively discussion on the prophet Isaiah.

Barbara is at a class in Dallas for the next couple of days.    Bart invited me over for a steak dinner.   I brought salad and we had a nice evening.

Now it is getting late (for me anyway) and I need to doctor Nicky and get to bed.   Things are going to cool down some in the next two to three days and we MAY get some much needed rain.   Sure am praying for that too.

I just got home from Writer's Club.   I read my chapter on St. Patrick from my Celtic Saints book.    They seem to like it.     There are only five of us in the group so it is a nice intimate event every week.

The rest of the day was HOT.    Kerry, my cleaning lady, came in the morning.   I had a list of things to accomplish and I did them so feel pretty good about today.

It is still hot and will remain that way for the next few days.   It is, after all, August in Oklahoma.    Dan, my lawn mower, came this afternoon to mow.   I asked him is he was really sure he should because it is so hot, but he was determined.     His wife used to help him, but she had back surgery so can't.    We visit while Dan does the mowing.    They are a wonderful couple.

The rest of the day was quiet.    I did quite a bit of sewing and just took care of Nicky.   He is back to his pre relapse state again.   Quite perky and eating with enthusiasm.    I am so pleased.

It was 103 degrees today.

A good and a bad day.    Nicky had to go to the vet because he wouldn't eat this morning and I couldn't give him his insulin.  (Other things involved)

It would be my and Dick's anniversary today.   Bobbie sent roses .   A very good thing.   I smiled the rest of the day.

Went to my Celtic Club meeting this afternoon.   We had a great time.    I will not be here next month and they still want to meet.   YEA.

I went to Bible Study this morning.    We are still studying Isaiah.    Lots of discussion on THAT book.    Ever heard of the Suffering Servant or Lambs Being Led to Slaughter.   All in Isaiah.

Home again, I worked on the quilt I am hand quilting on the rack.   I am determined to finish soon and will never hand quilt another one again:)

Today is Barbara's birthday, so I took her and Bart and Marlies out to dinner to celebrate.  We went to a seafood place called Seafood Party.   I had shrimp and fries.    Very good.

We had some welcome rain this morning.   Not enough but enough to make us feel good.    The temperatures were in the middle 90s, 10 degrees below what we have been experiencing.    This won't last long but a couple days is a relief and we even have a minor chance of some more rain.

Bart stopped by today as he was out on errands.   I am always glad when he does that.    I have someone to talk to and in the house.    He is a good kid.

Nicky's appetite is finally back so I am trying to figure out how much food he got before so that he can around out his ribs again.   Poor little guy,   I keep telling him not to lick his swellings from the steroids.    I have to put gel on them and he keeps trying to lick it off.   I put a cone on this morning  to try to keep him from licking for a while to let it soak in a bit.

He has not forgiven me yet:)

Just got back home from Quilt Guild.  We had good snacks tonight, Glad I didn't eat dinner.
The meeting went well and we had lots of Drag and Brag.    Some really beautiful items.   Then we played a dice game for fat quarters.     We each brought 5 and I ended up bringing four different ones home with me.    So lots of fun.

The rest of the day was at home.    I rested and sewed.

An eventful Sunday.    Mass and coffee with friends at church this morning.

Then I got a call from Dick and Brenda, fresh from their trip to Ireland for Dick's Birthday.

Then Bart aad Barb and Marlies came over for a chili supper with garlic bread tonight.    I feel so good to have had so many people in my live today:)

I forgot to post yesterday.     Well, nothing very exciting happened anyway.    Nothing much today, though I did make a pot of chili.     I haven't been hungry for chili for quite some time.    Bart and Barb will come over to share.  I never mind making chili in hot weather because it is done on top of the stove.

The hot weather continues.   Should be 105 for the next couple of days then perhaps a "cool front" of mid 90s by Wednesday.  Good Grief.

Nicky is perking up.   He actually ran after Fluffy the cat yesterday.    Fluffy just sits and looks at him when he does that.   But that was the first time I saw him run in months.    We went for a nice walk this morning before the heat got too bad.     I turn him back before he wants because I don't want him to get too tired.     We will extend his walk as weather and his energy  increases.  The cat, Fluffy, follows us most days, weaving in and out of my feet.     She will walk all the way around the block with us.

Did a bit of sewing today but rested too.  

Tomorrow, Mass in the morning and my dinner guests in the evening.   Yea.

Another hot day in Oklahoma.     You know me.   I figure that id they say the heat lasts through August 15, st Au\gust 15 the heat should end:)

Not ture.   We are getting some relieve in about a week  according to the weatherpersons.

This morning I had a pedicure.   My nails were awful and I can't do them myself.   I have gone to Wisconsin often enough before to have my friend Joan to them    But it just didn't work out. this time

Nicky is doing OK.   He is eating so I hope he'll pack on some weight.

When I got home from my Writer's Club meeting, I was too tired to post.    A good meeting, with several good readings, but they spend a lot of time just chattering and I would, frankly, like to get on with the readings.    Just me.   I guess.    But I love the people and they are talented and helpful to my writings.    I feel encouraged to dive back into my new book.

Nicky is doing pretty well.   He ate both of his meals today, very enthusiastically.    Of course, he is a picky guy and I have to keep tempting him.   I am wondering if he is playing me:)

I saw Dr. Toy, my chiropractor, today.   He put me back together again.   I go once a month to get adjusted now.    It helps.     He calls me his Wild Irish Rose.

Then I went to Bible Study.    We are studying Isaiah now and it is interesting.    We are a good support group, praying for each other and the causes we bring to the study.    Know that if you are ill, you are probably being prayed for:)

Obviously, I know the smile symbol.   I know the sad one too but don't like to use it.

It was warm today but is supposed to be even warmer the next few days.     Means no walks for Nicky and me for the next few days.

Nicky spent the day at the vet's getting his insulin checked every two hours.           We are increasing his insulin a bit, but everything else seems to be stable or improving.

I got a lot done while he was gone.    Didn't realize how much time he takes.    But he is worth every minute.

I went to the 8:30AM Mass this morning.    A nice mass.   One of our deacons gave the sermon which is always interesting.

Home again, I rested and sewed and took care of Nicky.    He worried me today because he ate a very small breakfast.     He ate better tonight.    But I can't keep thinking of things to tempt him.    I am running out of ideas:)

Tomorrow he goes to the vet for tests.   He will be there a good chunk of the day.

I was home all day today.    Yesterday was busy.       The only thing I did today was to go to Walgreens to pick up some candy:)   Yes    Candy.

I did quite a bit around the house though.   I watered, I did some quilting and some general cleaning.

Nicky is doing quite well.   His appetite is better and he sees the vet on Monday.    Hopefully we can heal those red puffy spots on his legs.

Another day as my Dad would say "As hot as the hinges of Hades"   It is 6PM and still 96 degrees.    I saw 104 this afternoon.

Nicky did quite well today.   Ate enthusiastically.   (I did fry up some hamburger for this evening as I was making one for my dinner.)   Do you think he is spoiled?    When I don't see his ribs anymore I may reconsider.      If you get sick, you know where to come:)

I went to an Arthritis Exercise Class at the local Senior Center today.    I will go back if I feel as good tomorrow as I do today.

Took care of all my shopping thingys today because tomorrow, I have an appointment with my GP, Dr. Aiku and hope to get some advise.     I also, If I  am done with Dr. Aiku on time, will go to the funeral of a dear Celtic friend who lost his wife.    I hope it works timing wise.

I feel better generally and so does Nicky so things in my household are improving.   YEA

I can't believe that it is the last day of July already.   The year 2019 is over half way over already.   It is HOT in Oklahoma.    My thermometer says 104, though the weather persons say Lawton is at 102.

I was busier than usual this morning.     Bible Study at 10:AM.    We are studying Isaiah and it is a very interesting book.     I put my concerns on the prayer chain so know that you are all covered:)

This afternoon, I had a haircut appointment.   Kandi was ready for me and did her usual good job.   I picked up some special dog foods for my very picky spoiled, sick little doggy.    He ate his dinner enthusiastically. so I am satisfied.    This morning he turned up his little nose at a SCRAMBLED EGG.   Would you believe?  His ribs are showing so I am trying to make him eat and with the diabetes he can't be snacking all day.

Patience has never been my forte.   Please pray for me.   I have love to spare.

A whole day at home.     Nicky ate really good today.    I hope he gains some weight soon.    He looks so frail especially with those growths on him.   Dr. Fiorello is going to have something for those when we see him next Monday.

Worked a bit on my new wall hanging and did a bit of research on my book so I felt a bit useful today.

Writer's Club was tonight.    Good readings as usual.    I read from the book and this really short poem.

I ushered at the 8:30AM Mass this morning.    Then went for coffee and donuts afterwards with friends.

Spent most of the day resting and puttering around, but did go down the street to my friend Robbi's house to see how she was doing.    She had a migraine this morning and has generally been feeling kind of icky.     We had a great visit.

Nicky ate two GOOD meals today and seems a bit perky.   

I was invited to Bart and Barb's for a delicious roast beef dinner with potatoes and carrots and blackberry cobbler for dessert.    So What a day.     I loved this Sunday and am now ready for a good night's sleep.

Another day at home.    Wouldn't have seen a soul except that I took Nicky for a walk this morning while it was not too hot and talked to a couple of neighbors.

I didn't feel well this morning but that improved during the day and my afternoon was very pleasant.   I got a lot done and still feel pretty good.

A relatively quiet week next week though I do have a few meetings and appointments.

Home all day.    First time this week.    Nicky likes that.    He seems to be feeling better.   I am waiting to hear from his Vet  as to setting up a schedule to check his sugar counts.     Thank God, I don't have to do that.

We have been going for short walks now that it is not in the triple digits.    That will change next week, I hear.  But all I have to say is "Nicky, want a walk" and he runs to the door.    I think this will help make both him and me get stronger.

Anyway, I kept reasonably busy and lazy and feel good about today.

I had a busy morning and a quiet afternoon.

Went to the eye doctor for my exam.     I like to go every year and missed a year there.    Since Mom had macular degeneration, I am vigilant.    Everything is OK.    Nothing but a couple of cloudy areas that can be chalked up to aging.

Then I went grocery shopping and bought my birthday and anniversary cards for the month of August.    Like to be prepared.

This afternoon was quiet as I said.    Nicky seems to feel better and is eating better.    I don't like his little ribs showing:(

Tomorrow I am home all day.    Will try to write and sew and read.

Today was a much better day.   Nicky seems better and I have decided that I need to give much more time for us to adjust to the insulin.    Poor little guy is so sweet about all the things I do to him

Well, this was another hot day.

Nicky ate both of his meals today but I have bad news.    He threw up once and he peed on the carpet again.     I am really concerned.     Please pray that I make good decisions for us.

This is not the first time I have had to make these decisions but I miss Dick making them with me.  I';ll call the vet in the morning.

It is still hot here.   My thermometer shows 100 degrees and that does not factor in the heat index.

I am blessed with a nice air conditioned home and the fact that I do not have to go to work every day.   I can stay in this home.  

Nicky ate both his meals today so we are back on his insulin.     You wouldn't believe what I do to make his food "attractive".    Heating, cooking special eggs.  etc.     He will be so spoiled soon.

Today was a very distressing and invigorating day.

My Nicky is not eating at all.    If he doesn't eat breakfast tomorrow I have to bring him back to the vet.   I can't give him his insulin if he doesn't eat.

The good event was the monthly Celtic group meeting.  We discussed Irish traditions and legends somewhat.    Everybody seemed to be enjoying themselves.   We met at the Olive Garden and there were 8 of us there.    A good turnout for our group.

Another hot day, though my thermometer did not go over 100 , a far cry from the 104 of yesterday.

Nicky is improving but still weak and fussy.    He much prefers "people food" to dog food and I have been scrambling an egg for him every morning.    Spoiled little brat, but he is still not well, and I will continue to entice him with whatever works.

I, too, am feeling better.   I actually have an idea for a wall hanging and am working on it a bit at a time.

I am working on my book in progress too.

So we are doing better here in Oklahoma, at least at the Kunert household:)

Nicky saw the vet this morning.   He has a ways to go but is doing much better on his tests.   I can see that too in his general demeaner.

I went to the drug store, the grocery store and Walmart today and got a lot done around the house.   I AM feeling better but as Nicky, I have a ways to go.

It was another day in the mid 90s.    We better enjoy these as starting Tuesday they are predicting 100 and humid for about 5 days.

Went to the 8:30 AM Mass and then had coffee etc with my church friends.

I went to Hallmark today for their annual Christmas Ornament sale and have all but two of my ornament gifts.    Can't get them til October.

Well, I got another lesson on giving Nicky's shots.   I think I was doing it right but am so nervous.    He is definitly feeling MUCH better and has gained a half a pound.     He has become a very picky eater and demands variety:)

I had my pick line flushed.   All is well.

Te rest of the day was at home.    I didn't feel well this morning so when I finished Nicky and my appointments, I took a nap and it really helped.   

Bart brought me lunch and enough four dinner.   Thanks Bart.     Just puttered around .   Tomorrow is the big ornament day at Hallmark so I will start my Christmas shopping.:)

Much too busy today.   

I had a doctor's appointment with my Arthritis doctor, Dr. Simon, this morning, then had to take Nicky to have his glucose checked at the vet.      Then I had to go to the Lab to have blood drawn for tests for Dr. Simon.

This afternoon, I cleaned and went to the grocery store.    This week is just cluttered and things are piling up.

Next week will be better and I will be used to taking care of my diabetic doggy.

Nicky is home again and doing just fine.    We are trying to get him to eat more at his meal times as snacks will goof up his "correct" insulin once he is back on it..    It is hard for me to not give him treats.

Saw my chiropractor today and he says I am holding quite well.   Another treatment in a month.

The rest of the day at home except for picking up a prescription for myself.

Had two visitors.    Barb bringing my protein drinks and my friend Robbie to measure Nicky for a winter vest:)

Have had a couple of rough days.      Nicky was getting weaker yesterday and could hardly walk today so I took him back to the hospital.     Turns out I have been giving him too much insulin.  Don;'t ask how, I feel guilty enough about it.

Dr. Fiorello kept him, for the day, of course, and gave him infusions of fluids.    I went to pick him up tonight and he was so happy to see me and headed for the door.    BUT   his sugars are still fluctuating, so he is staying one more night to get everything stable.    I will pick him up at about 11:AM after my appointment with Dr. Toy, my chiropractor.  The doctor says he will be as good as new in a few days, though he is still diabetic and will need (the proper amount) of insulin daily.  He had a skin reaction to the steroids too so looks a bit pitiful.     The assistants all promised that they will give him lots of love while he is there.   They love his little face with the crooked nose and the pug side and the chihuahua side.    

So again I am alone.     But it will end soon.     He is a good little companion.

I didn't feel too good this morning, kind of squishy, but I did go to Mass.    When I got home, Nicky and I took a 2 hour nap.

I still don't feel too well, but managed to get some things done around here and to keep myself occupied.

Talked to Leslie today.    She sounds frail but she is working at improving.

Talked to Bill later and to a friend from church.     Then Bart and I connected so I heard a few voices today:)

I picked up my Nicky tonight.    He is defonately better but is still wead as can be and they just got him to start eating.   My job is to see that he continues to eat and bring him back in the morning to learn how to give him his insulin shots and continue his care.   Poor little boy still has his IV in and had two icky looking shaved spots on his neck and shoulders.   They really do like my guy at the Vets.    He is just plain sweet and cooperative and they love the way he looks so sad when they do treatments on him but he never snaps or struggles.

Barbara stopped by with Timothy, Amber, Augie and Adria this afternoon as Timothy and his family came for the 4th of July and I wouldn't have gotten to see them.     That Augie is quite the little man.    He was so cute.   When they came in, I asked if he had a hug for his Grandma Mary.     He DID.   Then he proceeded to introduce me to the others.

So two good things happened today.   Now if Nicky keeps improving.

My Nicky is still at the Vet Hospital.    I assume he is doing well, as I can't reach anybody on the 4th of July.    Hopefully tomorrow he will be eating again and I can bring him home to tempt him more.    It will be different as he is diabetic and I am sure I will have to monitor what he eats.    Poor baby, he is used to some of the remains of my meals.    I know, I know,  not good but we were doing just fine, thank you:)

I was home most of the day just going out to pick up my lottery ticket.    I got quite a bit of miscellaneous quilting and cards and bookkeeping done so I kept busy.     Still hearing my Nicky whenever I move.      He IS my Velcro doggy you know.

My Nicky is still at the Vet and will be there til Friday.    He is better bit still not eating.   They are tube feeding him and he is not throwing it up .    That is a good thing.    I wish I could to to see him but that would be mean because he would think he is coming home.

I did some shopping to day and worked on a couple of quilting projects then this afternoon took my car to be serviced.      So I have been busy.      I will get lonely again when I go to bed without my buddy.

I just got home from Writer's Club which is always good but tonight I do not really feel well.

Called the vet about Nicky this morning and he is doing better because of the fluids but still was not eating.  He also has doggie diabetes.   

I am so worried about my little guy.

This has not been an easy day.    My Nicky was so weak this morning and had a 10AM appointment with Dr. Fiorello.      He is not eating well and had thrown up a couple of times and has become dehydrated.     So. I left him at Meadow Wood in the doctor's care for fluids and observation.    Dr. Fiorello says we should be able to get our happy Nicky back but he may have diabetes and need insulin.     I can handle that.    Just to have my happy boy back will be perfect.

The rest of the day I spent at home just puttering and thinking I was seeing Nick everywhere.    I miss that little puppy so much.

A quiet Sunday.   I went to the 8:30AM Mass and then visited with my friends for coffee and cookies afterwards.

The rest if the day was quiet.   I worked on two projects, one quilting, one writing.

Except for grocery shopping, I was home all day.     Nicky is not feeling well today.     I managed to get all of his meds down him, but it was not easy.     I gave him some "people" food and some really exotic foods to try to entice him.      It worked, to a point.    At least the meds went down.    But he is not eating any dry food, which he loved and suddenly is turning up his little crooked nose at the food that he has been eating since I got him.   

I will keep trying to tempt him.    His vitals seem normal except that he is still piddling too much, a a result of the steroids.      Well, after this week, he will only have one more week to be off of them totally.    I hope this is the problem, and that we have found another way to increase his red blood count.

It is HOT here and we are not even into triple digits yet.

The rest of the day I was home.    Nicky seems better in some ways but still is really iffy and his appetite is really bad.    He \likes Swedish meatballs:)

Took Nicky to the vet today.    His blood is holding with the reduced steroids so we are reducing them again.   He was not eating yesterday of this morning but tonight he devoured his dinner so I am encouraaged.

Was busy around the house all day.   It was in the mid to upper 90s outside.   Sure glad that I am blessed to live in an air conditioned house:)

A hot hot day today.    Hot and muggy though the wind is helping a bit.

I was busy today.    I worked on my quilting, cleaned up the kitchen a bit and generally had a lot to do.    Still got a nap in anyway.

This afternoon, was the Celtic Club Gathering.     There were 6 of us who met at the Olive Garden.    We met at 2PM as usual and talked about Bloomsday,    James Joyce's Ulysses.    This famous book occurred in the space of one day in Dublin featuring a man named Leopold Bloom ( and a couple of other people.)    It was actually June 16th but we are not so fussy and the conversation spread to many other subjects as it usually does:)     Aren't we blessed?

Next month we decided to meet at Olive Garden again and then give other ethnic restaurants a chance to enjoy a good Irish meeting.      Maybe we will be able to find one that serves Guinness!

Got home at 4PM>   Just in time to keep my Nicky on schedule.

He is still so weak and I need to watch him like a hawk.     But we have only reduced the problem steroids for two days.

Went to the eye doctor this morning and I will be getting a new prescription on my glasses.    I knew that before I went.

Did a few errands then spent the rest of the day at home.

I worked on my quilting project.    Almost done.   I am slowly coming alive again.

I went to see Dr. Toy this morning.  He is, if you don't remember, my chiropractor.    He adjusted me and I should feel better for the next week or so.   I go every month now.

I also went to see Kandi for my 6 week hair cut.   She does a nice job and I am glad that Barbara recommended her to me.

Didn't do too much else except work on the quilting project that is actually  progressing.   I feel good that I am actually excited about finishing something.      A slug doesn't care and I have felt so much like the slug recently.

I took Nicky back to see Dr. Fiorello today because he seems to be getting weaker every day.    His blood count is better and I was able to verify that he is eating and everything normally.   We are going to reduce the steroids which are bringing up the blood count but causing their own problems.    We have to find a balance.    I will bring Nicky back next Monday.

The rest of the day was quiet.   I did some quilting to get my mind and my hands busy.

Tomorrow I to to see my oncologist, Dr. Aye.      Hope all is well.

A quiet Sunday.    I went to the 8:30AM Mass and coffee afterward.    That turned out to be the only people I saw all day.

I called my niece,   Vikki today. Caught her just leaving work.    That girl works too hard.    She is a special gift left from my first marriage.

Bart called this afternoon for our daily checkup but that was it.     I worked at one of my quilting projects and one of my writing projects. 

It was warm today but not unbearable and am I blessed or what! I have an air conditioned home to live in:)

Finally a whole day at home.   I was to tired that I took two naps.    Probably the new meds contributed to that a bit.    Tomorrow is another day at home and I will try to be more active.

Did do a few things that made me productive.   

Paid some bills and sorted the mess in my office.

So it will be OK:)

It was a good day.      I didn't have any appointments but did do my grocery shopping and picked up my lottery ticket.     Then this afternoon I had to go to pick up ANOTHER prescription.     I am starting to feel like a junky.       I will see Dr. Simon in two weeks to see how this latest regimen is controlling the arthritis.

I also had time to sew and figure out that I need help with a project I took at Quilt Guild:)   Not doing it but figuring out HOW to do it.

Simple they said.

I went to Bible Study this morning.   Always a good discussion.    We are currently reading one of the gospels not included in the Bible.   The Gospel of Mary.   Very Interesting.    There are several gospels written back WHEN that are not included int the Bible as we read it but are very interesting historically.

Bart stopped by after lunch to see how Nicky is doing.    He is waffling.   This evening he peed on the stoop again.   It is all I can do to keep from really yelling at him.   It is so hard for me to clean it up but at least he does it on tile and not carpet.

The next three days are very quiet.   I am glad.

A somewhat busy day, starting with Kerry coming to clean the house.    I took care of all my bookwork while she was here, then went to the drug store and picked up tacos to go to Bart's house for lunch.     We had a really nice visit.     Usually do.

Tonight was Writer's Club.   I read two of my poems and one of my brother George's  and showed them the book he put together for the family. Two others read and they were really good.

Well, I obviously had a very quiet weekend as I had nothing to report.     Not much more exciting today , though I will go to Quilt Guild this evening.     It will be good to be with people for a while.

Nicky is not feeling much better.   He eats like there is no tomorrow but is very weak and is still having accidents in the house.     Not good.     We'll see if we can get him well enough to get off the steroids which I think is why he is peeing.  Thank God, it is not even daily.     But so distressing.

We had a lovely day today with temps in the low 80s and it was quite dry.   

Had my lawn mowed today.    Wish I could figure out what to do to get the grass it fill in the back yard.    The front yard IS coming along.

Except for a bit of shopping this morning, I was home all day. 

A quiet day.   Did a bit of quilting preparation and rested and cleaned my Keurig machine which turned out to be quite  project:)

Took my Nicky to the vet this morning.    He is doing much better.     We have a way to go but he is perkier and his red blood count has improved.

Bart and Barb both came to the vet with me.   Am I ever blessed.

I was able to go to mass this morning before Bible Study.     For the past several weeks, either there was not a mass on Wednesday or I had an appointment before the Bible Study.

I love daily mass. Not many people there but they all WANT to be there:)

Bible study was interesting, we are studying a book  called  Mary, As the early Christians knew her.
It includes,  a Gospel of Mary.     There are several gospels not included in the New Testament Bible but are of historic and traditional importance and this is one of them.

Kept myself amused the rest of the day:)

It was quiet most of the day and in the mid 80s so nice.

I rested a lot but did get something done on a quilting project.    If I can complete something I will feel like I am coming back to normal.

Went to writers club.    There were five of us and we all read.   An interesting stimulating evening.

Well, I had a quiet weekend and even did some quilting.    That made me feel good.   I need to continue creating things.   I hate this tiredness.

I went to have a bone scan today and will have the results in a couple of days.     In the meantime,, some of the blood tests I had last week are complete and it is determined that I DO have rheumatoid arthritis.    Digigy darn.     I told them that I would like to wait til ALL the tests are in before I decide what treatment is best.

The rest of today was nice.   I napped, visited with Bart and talked to friends.

A whole day at home.      I did some quilting preparation on a project that is an unfinished project.    It should not be too difficult and I hope will instill some ambition in me for the harder ones in my stash.

It was a beautiful day today.    Sunny Clear skies and temps in the mid 80s. 

I can't enjoy it as much as I want to because my sun allergy is still here, but I can tell you that it has helped not to have the unsettled weather as my bones feel better.    Not great, but better.

Nicky seems a bit better today.    Will be watching him closely.   He is eating well but seems to be losing weight.   The Vet say s that both are a result of the steroids he is getting.

I saw the arthritis specialist today.     He took about 10 blood tubes to test and I have to call him back on Monday to find out the results and the results of the meds he prescribed for me.

So lets all hope for the best.

Well, I was home all day today.    Kerry came and did the cleaning.   So I am all set that way.

I did some wash and caught up on my bookwork

We cancelled Writers Club because of the weather.   Right now it looks just fine.

Busy Day

And I mean a busy day.

Nicky is still not feeling very well,   but he is eating and does not seem in pain.

Did a bunch of wash this morning. 

Bart and Barb invited me over for a supper of brats for the Memorial Day Holiday.
Than Barb suggested that she go with me to shop for a bed.   My old one WAS OLD and worn out.   Since I had a volunteer to help me, I took advantage of it.

We went to Mattress King.   I found one that feels good and is adjustable at the head and feet.    Sound Good?    They brought it out this afternoon and set it all up for me and took away the old one, All included in a price that I find very reasonable.     They say the day to shop for beds is on Memorial Day and I believe they are right.

I imagine there will be a bit of getting used to but being able to adjust will surely help.

I went to the 8:30AM mass this morning.    Quite nice and I went to the coffee/donut social after the mass and got to visit with several friends.

The rest of the day was quiet.   My friend Barbara called this afternoon and we had a nice visit.

I did a bit of wash and am preparing corn on the cob and sliced tomatoes for my supper.    Dick and I loved that during the corn season and when I saw the cobs in the store, I just got hungry for it:)

I felt kind of squishy most of the day so didn't do a lot.      I took two naps would you believe.

I also picked out some fabric to pull together a group of quilting squares that need to be assembled into a unit.     Hope I keep up at least that much ambition

The rest of the day was as home.   I am so worried about my Nicky.  

Suzi, my niece, called me this evening and we had the nicest visit.    She is a dear girl and I am glad to claim her.

This was not a good day.    Nicky went for a followup to the vet and his red blood cells have dropped even more despite the meds he had been getting.

Poor guy.   He doesn't seem to want any more walk than it takes to poop.   He used to love the walk around the block and was very enthusiastic about it.     His appetite has improved and we are trying some stronger meds, then will look further. 

Hope we can figure this out.   As Bart says, he is my best bud.   I need him.

All is well here.   We had really loud thunder and lots of rain in the wee hours of the morning but no tornadoes near  us nor any damage.    Thank God.

Well,   I suppose you are all hearing about the storms in Oklahoma.

So far, Lawton has a kind of heavy wind, but no storms and( as I am watching the news) the worst of it seems to be steadily west and moving northeast.    Pray that this continues.     I will, if the word  comes go into my interior bathroom as I cannot open the storm shelter,   The door is much too heavy for me.   I will be perfectly safe in that bathroom.   It is  interior and has no windows.   Nicky and I will, if necessary go in there with blankets and pillows and shelter in the bathtub.   We will be fine.   The coverage is, by the way, excellent.

We/ll be just fine.

I'll update if it looks like things are changing OR   first thing in the morning.

Went to the 8:30AM Mass this morning, as usual.    Then had a donut with my friends that stay after Mass to visit with my friends.

I am so blessed and sometimes forget that.    You who read this, are a big part of my blessings.   Thank you.

Visited with Bart and brought him lunch today.     Barb is gone to her grandson, Augie's Birthday with her Grandaughters, Abbie and Adria, along with her.

It was a very quiet Saturday.     Talked to a couple of people but nothing very important and I took two naps.  

I wish I could get over this tiredness.   Well I have some doctor appointments that may be able to give me some answers coming up.

I wore one of my shamrock sox today and did get a comment on them at the Celtic Meeting.

Quite an exciting meeting.    I pulled up to the Shamrock and it was Locked.    Anne and Glenn arrived almost at the same time I did and found out that the Shamrock was CLOSED.   And I mean Closed.   It no longer exists.    We decided to go to another restaurant, Ted's, down the street.   We hung around until about 2?15PM and then put a note on the door for any late comers.    I hope we didn't miss anybody.    I will send out an update this weekend and hope we haven't upset anybody.

We had eight people there, so Ted's would be glad to have us back next month, but perhaps a less ethnic place would be better.    We have a month to decide.    We had a great time and discussed, as we had planned, Easter in Ireland.    They celebrate Much as we do but they have much more strict church wise.

I also brought a print of the 7 signatories of the Easter Rising which occurred 1916.   I gave a bit of the history and shared the proclamation.

It was fun.   Great group of people.    We are going to go more into the other 6 Celtic Nations other that Irish soon.   Sandy will help us when she is back from vacations.

A reasonably busy day today.   

Went grocery shopping this morning and stopped off at Bart's for a visit.

Then home again.   I also stopped at Walmart and picked up my tomato and pepper plants and a hanging geranium for the front porch.

Then this afternoon I planted my vegetables so I feel very mother Earth today.

This has been a nice day.     Started off at church at 9AM.   Fr. :Phil was unable to do mass but we had a communion service prior to the exposition of the Blessed Sacrament.   Perfectly good.

Then Bible Study.    We are studying a book on Mary while we wait for Fr. Phil to determine our next official bible study.   Quite interesting.   I  will get to red the Gospel of James, one of those that is not included in the bible as we know it but is an old and very important history.

Home again, Nicky and I took a nap then I got to work in my office.   Things are almost caught up.

Yesterday was rather busy.    I ended the day at the Wichita Mountain Quilt Guild Meeting.    We had a potluck and installation of officers.

Today I was home all day.   Heard from on of my Celtic Club people, so I know that there will be at least two of us there this Friday.   

I caught up on my bookkeeping and bills and Kerry came and cleaned my house this morning.

So I am in good shape and ready to settle for the evening.

A lovely quiet Mother's Day.    Talked to most of the kids and heard from others yesterday, so I feel loved!!!

Went to the 8:30AM Mass this morning.   Fr. Phil is still sprinkling us with the waters of baptism.  Stopped for coffee and donuts with friends.

The rest of the day was at home.   I actually slept for TWO hours this afternoon.   Guess I was really tired. and I don't hurt as much in my arms.   Yea.

Went to breakfast this morning with Bart, Barbara and Marlies at Braum's.     Then Bart went home and we ladies went to Art's for All, an annual arts festival that is held is Lawton.   It was wonderful with all the vendors, and artists and excitement that goes with these events.

We topped it all off with a visit to Sam's clug.

A fun day with the ladies and I am glad that they asked me to go.

It was a busy day.     This morning I did all my shopping.     This afternoon, Dan came to mow the lawn and I had to go to south Lawton to get my hair cut.

I was supposed to be home all day today.

Then       Nicky did not eat his breakfast which is not a big thing except that he had not eaten his dinner last night so I called the Vet at about 10AM.      Got an appointment for 1AM .

So he ate his breakfast at noon.

I took him in anyway .     He has been very lethargic and off his food.   Dr. Fiorello thinks he is  anemic and we are on a med regimine.   I will see him again in two weeks.

Wish these critters could talk.

It poured and thundered last night,  Almost all night.   I woke up in the middle of it sore as heck.   Still sore.     Guess I will have to "accept"  inclement weather as uncomfortable and painful. at least for the time being.    Could be worse.  

Went to see Dr. Toy my chiropractor,   He gave me a couple of suggestions to help the pain.

Then I went to Bible Study.    Got there to find out that a funeral was going on so I had to sneak past it to get to our study room.    Had I not been dressed in holey jeans and an Oklahoma T Shirt, I would have gone to the mass.    Just didn't seem proper.   Bible study, or I should say,   Book Study, as that is what we are actually doing now was very stimulating.

Was glad to get home anyway and spent the afternoon doing computer and around the house stuff.

A pleasant day altogether.

Last night I went to the 6th Grade Graduation ceremony for my great granddaughter, Abigail (Abby) Benoit.    She even wore a dress and looked just lovely.     It was a nice ceremony, followed by a family gathering at the Benoit house.     We are all very proud of our girl.

Tonight I will be going to Writer's Club.

I started off this morning at 8AM at church for the first annual? Run/Walk.    I had signed up to "walk: with the help of a wheel chair.    As it turned out, I got a ride in a golf cart for the event which was very nice.    They had donuts and coffee at the halfway point and food and wine and beer and coffee at the end.    A bit early for spirits for me at 10 AM but I really enjoyed the breakfast sandwitch and all that went with it.     Just the camaraderie was great.

The rest of the day was quiet.   Bart called this afternoon and we had our daily checkup.    All  is well.

Yesterday, I had a doctor's appointment.    We are continuing with the drugs that Dr. Aiku prescribed to see if extended use will help alleviate the pain.     They do help me sleep so I am not objecting..

Today I was home all day, thank heavens, because we had some really heavy thunderstorms a good chunk of the day.

So all is well here.    Nicky is fine and did get a VERY short walk this afternoon.

Boy did we have thunderstorms last night.    Almost ALL night.   But by morning it had passed and Nicky was even able to go out for his morning potty without any concerns.      He does not like bad weather and I cannot fault him for that.     It is amazing how long that doggy can hold his urine.

Went to Bible Study this morning.    We had some very interesting conversations about the book we are reading and also shared a lot of prayer requests.

The rest of the day was quiet.   I am trying to sort out one area a day.   Today I accomplished that.    I need more ambition and will work on that.

I just got home from Writer's Club.   It was POURING for a good chunk of the way and the streets were pretty flooded.    Thank God, it died down some about half way home and I made it safe and sound.

We had some good readings tonight.    Altogether worth the rainy drive.

Dan came to mow my lawn today.    That was the most exciting thing that happened.

I did talk to Bill Smith and know that things are going pretty well down in Bossier City.

The rest of the day was pretty lazy.    Bart stopped by about 11AM and we had a visit.

I ushered at the 8:30AM Mass this morning.   After the latest bombing, Fr. Phil asked us to be a bit more vigilant as people come in after Mass starts.   Sad that we have come to that.

Mark and Margo finished replacing my fence today.    Sure glad that is done.

Mark also adjusted the door between my living room and the sunroom so it does not have gaps anymore and I can open it without wrecking my wrist.

I had people here all day working on repairing and replacing the fence on the right side of my house as you face it.     Most of the boards were rotted and I am hoping the new boards will discourage the neighbor's dog from jumping in.

They will finish tomorrow.   The materials cost me far less than I had anticipated because they were on SALE:)

Had an appointment with Dr. Toy and Dr. Aiku today.

Dr. Toy adjusted me and will see me in two weeks.

Dr. Aiku changed my meds and will see me next week.   Hopefully this change will let me sleep through the night. 

My friend Robbi sais that I have to give myself permission to just  rest.   Hard for me to do when I feel that I am not DOING anything:)

I just sent my Sunday Blog.     I went on to do today's and discovered that Sunday's was still a draft.   Silly me.

Monday and Tuesday were very quiet.    I had the Dish people come out today because my Dish has been misbehaving.    Aside from that I have nothing to report.

All is well.   I have two doctor appointments tomorrow.

Went to a very busy Easter Mass this morning.  I was an usher so kept busy with my duties.

Then this evening went to Adam and Alexia's for the Family Easter dinner.   I made a coconut cream pie to share.     All was wonderful.    Good to have family for these special days.
